Since 1980 we have designed and manufactured the equipment helicopter and maritime rescue teams use to save lives in some of the harshest conditions imaginable. From rescue hooks to personnel harnesses, titanium ladders to rescue litters, from the strobe lights that the lost use to signal for help to the rescue strops that pull them to safety, we make the gear rescuers need to do their jobs and to do them as safely as possible.

Let's just talk about this new thing! lifesavingsystems.com/product/triton-survivor Almost every week someone asks me to make an AVED or Screamer Suit type product. We could do that, I guess, but why not ...innovate? The problem is you have an ambulatory survivor you need hoisted into the aircraft. When ...

Thanks! Great video
Thanks for the info.
Is there a depth rating for the 640?
While not designed for diving, I do have videos of divers taking them to 90 feet without water intrusion.
@@MaritimeSafetySystems thanks for the response. I’ll give it a try then.
I have a feeling this is still not as good as the military strobe with IR cap.
Very informative video,

hope that wasn't a review of your product? I like enthusiasm in a company and product, via the company who makes the product. Sorry.
Dave - it was just a statement about the new material we switched to in the survival knife. We made the product better, so I put out the video to explain what we did and what it meant. It was not a "review". I expect that everyone know that we like what we make, so I was just putting out the information.
okay....now I have your attention LOL, I've dealt with a few ''titanium'' blades before, and they were hard to sharpen conventionally (ceramic stones) and didn't want to ever get razor hair splitting sharp ( the way I like all my knives) No amazon reviewers (more like out of the box opinions) said anything about sharpening, or edge retention.in long run. Spyderco's no rust H1 Japanese made steel knives are twice your cost. So, it had me wondering about the ''titanium'' blade??? I'd love to do a real review on one, via my YT channel and Amazon review video. It seems to me all boats need a rescue style knife very handy. So, thats my reasoning.
Totally fair thing to consider. Titanium blades are hard to sharpen. We do not think a titanium knife is a good everyday use knife and this one certainly isn't. But that's not what it is used for. This is the "Survival Knife" used by the U.S. Coast Guard (and others) and it stays sheathed in life jackets and swimmer harnesses for use only in rare emergencies. Because they were used only as an emergency knife, the only reason they were going dull was long months of not being used in the marine environment and the sharpened edge would corrode. We switched to titanium and the end result is a factory sharpened knife that stays that way for years (forever) without having to rinse and clean the knife after each use. They can keep the knife in the sheath, pull it out for the first time 2 years from now, and it will still be as sharp as the day it was made. Once they dull it up through use, it's over - but so is the emergency. They can be sent back to us to factory sharpen again.
OH, OKAY. SOUND GOOD. BUT I'M SURE SOMEONE HAS TRIED ON THEIR OWN. BUT IT'S GOOD THAT YOU ALL CAN PROVIDE THAT SERVICE.
