A Shinobue is a traditional Japanese flute, and it sounds *^$#awesome. This is our log detailing how we built one each, and learned about Japan in the mean time.

Here I am attempting to recreate the sound from a performance of Yoshitsune Senbonzakura: Act 2, Scene 1. Unfortunately, I don't have a samisen, so there's no samisen in my recording. Also, the flute is not authentic to the original version, so my rendition is more of a western adaptation. In this scene, a fox in human form disguised as Tadanobu rescues Shizuka by fighting off the Shogun's sold...

Hey! Me again, talking about our first day of making a flute. I went with Nik's idea of talking about what happened, what went well, badly, and some of our research thusfar (though very little). Either way, this vlogging business isn't so bad...

Onde comprar?
To nessa tb. Dificil achar.
What is the wax stopper for?
It's so the air flow is one way
I guess you could change the pitch of it that way too. It's a sensitive instrument

Nice video, found some good bamboo in my shed and would love some measurements. Total length, approximate diameter of the bamboo as well as hole diameters and spacing. Hard to do in a video but if you could message me back I would appreciate it very much.
Does Mr. Pepper sell any of his shinobue?
Ah Nik! you are the best! Good luck on your project... and your quest to offend fewer people ;P
