New challenges require a lot of thinking! Currawong practices fishing for the grapes hidden under water. Don't worry they all get grape after if they didn't manage to fish it out I throw extras to them for trying!

How many grapes Currawong can munch in a day?
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤😀
I feel like this one likes to chew his brother or friends tail I have seen it once or twice like a playful interaction.
Why is this video so popular?
Do not feed birds with bread. It is bad for them, it's like you wanna harm them on purpose
Thank you for feeding the Birds! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
It's my pleasure fam, I relate to the one footed / one eyed ones, I always make sure they get a grape or two! <3
Birdies looks so happy.. but always go for grapes :D😂
Of all the foods I have tried, red grapes are their favourite
Ill be there tomorrow ;) looks better than I thought it would this year.
Enjoy brother! Yes was amazing. May you have bluebird days! ^_^
0:34 having a chat!
Hehe i like to try imahine what they are talking about, world affairs? 😊
Uuu look huggin grapess in the water😂
He tell Munnin to retrieve them while he stand guard 💂♀️:D
OMG poor thing, look at his legs 😞
Yes its sad to see them struggling, some with one eye or leg, but they are happy and always excited for grapes! 🙂 Im still hopeful that ice in the birdbath will help a little!
Such beautiful view the lake and birds, true nature :D
It is! Very serene and peaceful down there I’m missing it already! :)
Great! Amazing Birds!
Thanks for watching! :) Yes! I love the sheen on their coat is iridescent in the right light!
The guy staking at the end was 😂
Yeah got me to chuckle 🤭
⛷️ Awesome 😎
Thanks brother! 😄
Holy crap how fast did that magpie swoop at 6.30min !!!
Yeah it's a bit scary when they go full dive mode!
Oh and take it easy on that bread, not good for them apparently, get some fortified dog kibble instead for "easy" random feeding.
Yeah thanks! Indeed, usually I don't put much bread out at all, Was a little excited to see all the bird friends, often I just throw grapes for them to chase / catch it's a fun little game. I know the ravens like it they take it to the water and break it down, I'll grab some of that tomorrow have to go to the pet shop might help out as having fresh grapes always is a bit of a pain haha! :D I asked last time I was there but got a confusing answer as to which was the correct type I'll just buy a few fortified dog kibble and see what works!
@@rosssilver Yeah I get that 100%, sometimes you gotta use what's handy, haha, and I guess the occasional one-off slice of bread won't do any harm, it's most likely feeding bread to the same birds daily is what can cause them issues. I tried frozen blueberries the other day when the grapes were sold out and the currawong seemed to like them. Ravens like unsalted peanuts too and thin slices of apple, where Magpies went crazy for rolled oats and dried mealworms as snack. All three species enjoyed the dog kibble, but that also attracted the local possums feeding on leftovers during the evening.
@@gaiagaia4093 Yeah when I'm at home I usually give them things like dried fruit cut up they seem to like dried bananas and peanuts, the "pocky" dried fruit at pet shops also they love but also the lorikeets seem to love that too xD I've seen the lorikeets try eating the meatballs I give the ravens it's honestly a bit weird! They all seem to like Granola too particularly with dried fruit in it!
Wow, what a place, on our to visit list thanks to this video. Are you able to film the currawong during roosting, I just wanted to hear if they make the same sound in that region as they do in the city.
My pleasure it's a wonderful spot I hope you enjoy as much as we did! Unfortunately was only there for a couple days but loved it! I'm keen to try find some when I'm on the mountain I see a lot of ravens in the car park at the snow. Also saw a crow for the first time ever there!
Beautiful video, nice background 😮❤
Thank you for watching! :) it really is! The lake there at Jindabyne is absolutely gorgeous!! 🥰
This was my favourite video from the trip, I hope you all enjoy it as much as me! <3 :)
Lovely video!
Thanks for watching! More to come from the snow ! 🥰 many ravens here
Nice quality, what camera do you use?
It is a go pro 12 :) Thanks for watching !!
more, please
Thanks for watching! Some neat ones to come just finished recording! :)
i loved the part where he succeeded in eating the grape after such hard work
😄 If the grape is too big they will tear it open but for some reason they prefer to eat it that way!
kind of
They are usually hesitant around new foods they haven’t seen, from my experience.
👏👏😁💖💖
They always brighten my day too! ^_^
0:22 does anybody know what birds sound that was ?
Yes that cawing is Hugin and Munin the pair of Australian Ravens that visit. :)
What's the link to your paint-drying video?
Currawongs, eh? Well, it takes a village . . .
Ya gotta handle those currawongs like you do lorikeets. Can't let one in, or the whole flock shows up. 🤣
Try giving them rolled oats, they love those too.
Sure, I’ll pick some up next time I grab birb foods. Thanks for the suggestion!
the cockatoo side eyeing that grape 🤤
cannibalism 💀
They never knew Bob(the chicken) tasted so good!
Excuse me.. did i just see this black thing being suspicious on the table? Shhh
Haha flashing red light?! What does it mean?!
Birb? Are you some kind of faggy little boy?
The Currawong wants to enjoy the feast too :D
He notices camera here: 2:54
Great job
Thanks family! I hope you have a great day!
Ah yes a bald eagle is spectacular! I’ve seen a breeding pair at Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara where I used to live. Also saw a golden eagle at a traveling wildlife show when my girls were little. The golden eagle had been injured and was unreleaseable so the bird became an ambassador for the species. We were able to get up close. It is spectacular. Very large and the eyes! Piercing eyes that could look right through you.
That's awesome! I enjoyed learning about Rome and the Aquila is very memorable, something that pops up often in modern media still! I'd love to see any eagles in real life would be a cherished memory and privilege. That's always sad, many of the currawongs have battlescars but still doing their best to get by, I donate some grapes and such to help them out I was trying to think of how to cure their leg condition many have tasslefoot where mites attack their legs and eventually lose toes / legs, but scientists are doing great work in that area with electromagnetic pulse generation to destroy similar mites in chickens hopefully someday they do the same for these mites it seems to affect lots of currawongs.
@@rosssilver Did you ever find a way of helping them with the mites condition? I know there is a spray that you can put near the feeding area or into shallow water, I will try to find that site.
@@gaiagaia4093 I saw promising research into it in a similar field where farm chickens get leg mites, they have been using electromagnetic pulses to kill 96+% of the mites within a minute. On a different note, I saw that the currawongs at Jindabyne had no tasslefoot at all.. I believe it is due to the cold, the mites must not be able to survive there. I want to try put ice into the bird bath and some grapes to see if that might help kill the mites!
My grandmother was born and raised in Newcastle Australia! She immigrated to USA to marry my grandfather (a Norwegian) around 1912
Ah that's a nice area quite a lot of beautiful nature up there, there are a lot of unique animals and birds over in America! I'd love to see some one day especially an eagle, I saw they like boiled eggs too like the ravens. :D
What an amazing bird. I’ve never seen in before. I live in Texas and we have great tailed grackles.
Ohh! UA-cam has been showing me some videos of Grackles they look absolutely beautiful in the sun too, that iridescent blue on their necks! Best wishes from Australia, thanks for watching Kellyallin!
it's a birb bath not a birth bath
Ah typo, thanks! :)
Lmao a typo from the grammar police themselves.
@@rosssilver oh, I see you actually made the video birb bath. Is that a thing?
@@Kelseyzj I know some of the memes about birds call them birbs, the original title was just a typo said birth bath. When the currawong went to the bath you can see three grapes under the water but I think he lost his attention to them and decided to have a bath instead. :D
Gorgeous timid guys
Their little interactions are quite entertaining! I've started to notice the colours in their feathers, easier to see it on their backs / in the bright sun.
@@rosssilver right! I thought they were fully black aside from the tail when I first spotted one, later I realised they have pretty plumage on the wings while in flight!
@@lordanderson8090 That's awesome me too haha! Especially in the bright morning sun the colours are quite vivid similar with the ravens and magpies too, they are very interesting creatures, trying to understand their interactions is enjoyable ^_^
perhaps a younger bird; somewhat hesitant eating the grape. They seem to be looking up at the sky then up and to side the whole time; checking for predators? mid vid hear vocalizations of other birds 'concerned' with something. Also a broad lower caw of something. Anyway eventually seems their partner makes to the diner safely
There was a bunch of other currawongs in the tree, I was walking around doing gardening I don't think the ravens were there though but they might have been warning him about me being close. Yeah might have just been relaxing while waiting or something it was funny watching the other birds looked curious or concerned with him. :D
wow they have so different characteristics.. also i feel bad for grapes they just get swallowed without juice being tasted
Sometimes they squish the grapes, some of the videos are in 2-8x slow motion you can see the grape squirt everywhere and their little tongues going! I think they enjoy it, they actively seek out red grapes over everything. Their bird calls are slightly different tones too I noticed recently!
@@rosssilver 🤩🤩🤩ahahha good to know!!! happy may day my friend!
@@YanyanLun Thanks YanyanLun, have a great day also fam! :)
I think they're just storing them
Loved that little squawk at the end!
They make some funny little noises, I haven't learned what any mean yet :D
Pretty cool
Hahahh quackkkk sound
:D They make me laugh a lot, their little noises are often too quiet for me to hear but in the recording it comes out great!
what do you think he doing just standing still for long time? 🤔
01:43 and 01:53 if you're just chasing the tail chomping bit!
