Giving this EH2 an italian tune up. 6000 ft elevation on 85 octane so yes it's very slow. Shift points at roughly 4700 rpm.

Auto or manual?
Definitely manual
@@Grafyte manual guy didn’t wanna come down for the car for a 95 manual but outside was beat $4800 with 166k . They posted a 94 auto last night for $2.3k I was first person to message him about it it’s in mint condition, 1 owner ,all owners manual and window sticker 197k got it for $1800 cash drove it 2hours home no issues
It's really a good car, I own one😊
when driving does it jolt when shifting to second gear. The 1994 I drive does jolt at times even after replacing all 4 engine mounts. also when driving does it vibrate when on first gear when you lift your foor from the clutch pedal and the car starts moving without stepping on gas pedal..?? mine does vibrate too..
It sounds like you would benefit from a valve adjustment.
My dad has that car!
Should I trade my new tundra for it? I’m in Taos 8000’ elevation… I’m unsure. looking at a 21’ double cab 2wd . I don’t drive much and more peace of mind maybe…
Fit seems like such a happy fun car
Do u sit close or farther back in this car? Having trouble finding the right seating position in this exact car
I sit weird, okay. I like my legs close to the pedals and dashboard, but I like to recline back so my arms are far away from the steering wheel. I also like the lumber support zeroed out and the seat almost, but not quite, fully lowered.
Same sound with my 2.7 200k miles. It's always been kinda noisy ngl but I think that's just how they are cuz they are tankssss
Do you have any problems with the transmission?
Ah, the sweet sounds of the Series 60 mated to the Allison 4500! Love it! If you still drive these trucks, can you please do a pure ASMR-style video, beginning with engine start up, and ending with engine shutdown? I don't mind if the drive is mostly freeway, I just want a super long ASMR ride along in one of these M915A5's so I can fall asleep to the sounds of the Series 60! Please make it as long as possible - for me, the longer the ASMR, the better! Please let me know ASAP.
Has to be an XLS model its missing the overhead console
A 1997 Honda civic made 97 pound feet of torque at the time and this made 147 or 152 depending on which enthusiast you bump into 😅
5.7 thats it my loaded cummings 13 speed gets almost 8 some days this sucks for modern auto how you driven
75k lbs and elevation gain will do that to your economy. This rig has a lifetime mpg of 7.2 mpg, and it is a rocky mountain warrior too (constantly going up and down I70, US550, CO9, Tennessee Pass, and the like at 73-77k lbs)
I expected it to put up much more of a fight at that temperature.
2020 Tacoma 2.7L 4cylinder 2wd High Elevation= less air 0-60=10 sec
The v6 version peels the tires even on 1inch of gas its insane its a quick little car mine has 240k miles
silly digger
I want this car please god
Is that Anchorage
yup
needs a turbo
Perhaps for speed. It goes the distance just fine without one.
about the same as my 2022 Chevy Colorado 2.5
I didn't know the Tacoma came with an Inline 4
Yes, every Tacoma from 1995 to the present present year has offered an inline 4 option
I think that was a Toyota
fixed
The 3.5 and 2.7 both get very good gas mileage. My 3.5 would get 30 on the highway around 60-65 mph
Beautiful Volvo 5 cyl. sound 💙
Have you done the tune? Heard its better for truck
3RZ-FE 182cv or 150cv
Those shift points are perfect for the d-15 it’s not a revver but it’s indestructible.
Keep in mind this is the CX with the 70hp 8 valve D15B8, so that was less than 5000 rpm the entire time. Indestructible ... as long as you don't forget to change the timing belt.
I've had an S70 2.4 N/A that was quicker than this, with 250k miles on it. Previous owner was a mechanic and a renovated tranny (which probably was why it was running that well) but bought a better car so i got it for $400, annual tax was paid ($240). Still had a slightly leaking VVT so when the oil lamp flashed at righ turn i just topped it up xD I bought it cheap af so I didn't care much but it was in really good condition and I used it to go to school for a few years.
What altitude though? This video started at 5700 and ended at 5500 ft above sea level. I'm going to do another run in a few days when I'm at 300 ft and see if it improves at all.
Genuinely didn't realise the non turbo ones were this slow. What was that, 11 seconds to 60? Was it broken?
I doubt it was broken. They're all this slow.
@@Grafyte I guess they are pretty heavy. Safe, comfortable, dependable, but not quick. I'm used to the turbo models, I thought a non turbo would be more like 9 - 10 seconds to 60 than 11 - 12!
Regular or ext cab?
regular
Nice that your GPS gave you an hour and a half heads up on the next move lol
What waa the timr
High 8s low 9s
@@Grafyte ok I was making sure I wasn't tripping about my car for a second lol. Mine is literally on 9s
My father bought his Explorer V6 2WD in 1998, it was new and a rarity here in the south of Argentina, we took countless family trips, he sold it in 2011 and even today, we miss it very much. 😢❤
is that a x15? sounds like a helicopter when runs at 1400 rpm
Damn that’s horrible
11.2 MPG is the most amazing thing xD. these things are wonderfully engineered. Pulls hard in 11th gear!
That was downhill? Lol Sounds really good thpough
I'm not sure why this is such a big deal to everyone except for bragging rights. The time of 14 sec to 60 is obviously because of the high altitude as the poster has mentioned in the comments. Most official times for the 2.7l to 60 is around 10 seconds. In comparison, my Kenworth Log truck with a 3406 Cat engine and a 18 speed transmission gets to 60 in 90 seconds fully loaded with 80,000 lbs. I still manage to get up and down the highway and mingle with traffic with that. So I think I can live with the 2.7l in my Tacoma just fine. I'll see you all in 20-30 years with that same Tacoma pickup with a very short list of repairs and maintenance costs. And THAT is what works for me.
After 100(!) Miles, keep right?!
There is still a 4-cylinder sound left at 2000-3000 rpm
Yeah, the Tesla Semi's acceleration is quite revolutionary.
This truck is still quite fast for a big rig. The Tesla semi is garbage.
what??
cybertruck will lose the dodge ram 6.7 with an enlarged turbine.
@@2ur_gse130 completely unrelated
thats about it, its awful for hauling anything efficiently.
If you were in neutral and press the accelerator and it's revving to 2000 rpm, if you did that same pressure in drive, how fast will your car go?
Probably about 15 mph or 24 km/h
What is the up arrow light on the dash?
That arrow comes on anytime you choose a forward gear that isn't drive (4, 3, L, or W). I will sometimes shift to 4 to provoke the torque converter to apply the lockup clutch earlier than it would drive, 1st keep the transmission fluid cool and clean, and 2nd because it prevents some power loss from the slippage of the torque converter.
But unlike many modern cars, this’ll do this all day long and not even break a sweat
Yup, make sure the engine has plenty of clean oil and coolant and they're unstoppable.
hell yeah, 5 cylinder
no way its that slow lmao
168 horsepower inline 5 wagon and title says uphill, so yes its slow.
Yes, it's that slow. Pedal to the floor, no kickdown button. Also this is at 5700 ft above sea level.
It's uphill and as the original poster mentioned, it's 1.7 kilometres above sea level, which, If you didn't know, means the air is a whole lot thinner than on sea level
60k miles? You’ve got to show the interior!
perhaps one of these days
That inline 5 has a decently nice sound too it
23 second quarter mile hahaha
NA life at 6000 ft elevation. But if it did a half mile in 29 seconds, I think 23 seconds is a bit much. Maybe closer to 20.5 seconds 1/4 mile.
