Maja Aamand was excluded for the final lap clash on the back straight. This seemed very harsh to me, but feel free to make up your own mind and comment here :D

Gundersen, Moran, King - Odsal 1985
That's a heart breaker for me. Gunderson is savage.
Wow, dwóch naraz po zewnętrznej. Tego już nie ma szans zobaczyć na obecnych stadionach.
I was Shawn Morans mechanic and after watching the interview that Lance King made that Erik had asked for help. So his mission was to stop Shawn winning the race and let Erik win. Now I understand the race and as Lance said he cut Shawn off going into turn 3 and allowed Erik to go round the outside of them both, Lance said Erik would have never passed them if he hadn't done what he did to Shawn. Niall Strudwich interview.
Yep I've seen that interview. Tbh I always thought it was odd Shawn got pinned down on the inside. At least he was honest in his interview. Doubt Sam was happy though!!!
Never heard that before (I was there that day too!) but find it hard to see that Eric wouldn’t have got past them both anyway! Can you see how quickly he stretched his lead, and can you see how much momentum he had down the back straight before he passed them? Even before Lance came down the inside, Eric was already on his way.
King Erik the best rider the World of Speedway as ever seen & will ever see. I was at this World Final &,it's one of the all time greatest. I was on bend 2 about half way up.

Nice! Gunderson is a savage.
Zbyt duza niekontrolowana roznica w sprzęcie... I przez to wypaczenie rywalizacji
Never a big Gundersen fan but he did the business here no doubt about it...

Peter Ravn Aces legend. Great memories as a youngster watching La Pravn.
Der køre jeg speedway

Haha I guested for Redcar cubs that night and I rode a bit better that night on my second night ever at Edinburgh was happy to finish second in that race in the final! Berwick may have something to say this year at edinburgh for a junior meeting! Liam Carr.
@stevepaul1960 no way hans nielsen was good but never in eriks league, erik was THE best rider in the world fact
If Hans was in this race Shawn would’ve ended up high near the fence like he did to Tatum in the ‘90 WF at Odsal. Or taken his front wheel out causing him to fall like Tommy Knudsen in ‘86 and Ermolenko in ‘93. And his antics in the ‘94 WF was disgraceful. Erik never had to ride dirty to win.
@@tkmikkelsen1 I totally disagree Erik was good every time he rode AND he never had to ride dirty to win or put riders through the fence

@@richardharrison3099 did Lance help him win in 84 and 88 too?! 😂
Darcy Ward isn't the best gater in the business but his experience on Australia's tight junior tracks has taught him throttle control and how to keep the bike down on the low lone through the corners. He rarely gets into the first corner in first yet more often than not he comes out 1 or 2 places better off. However, being a bad gater is a disadvantage on the smaller tracks.
aussie pride
wow! won it in the very last turn.
"champs are champs, friends are friends! Kelly and were always happy winning or not, we loved the race. Thank you to all the loyal fans of Speedway" a direct quote from Shawn Moran on behalf of himself and his late beloved brother.
Andrey Karpov big rider :)
I grew up watching this guy at Dudley wood, used to speak to us in the pits. Even promised he'd beat Nielsen in heat 1 v Oxford 1 night so my mum would buy his jacket he had out. Awesome rider and cruelly injured far too early, dunno what that comments about saying best bike, the guy was class, 88 run off beat Nielsen by 25 machine lengths, always the man for the big occasion
Фантастика!!!
one word and one word only LEGEND. one of the nicest guys ever absolute hero
hell of a show
Nice!
Müller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Err sure, yep, umm, for sure
redhead racer.. very good attack on last corner :D russia rullez :D
Not sure about it being the greatest speedway race ever (although it has to be up there considering the pressure he must have been under) but I have to agree about Erik being the greatest rider ever :D

Artiom - russian butcher
He was getting nowhere, then he hit the outside line. I like a rider who isn't afraid of the boards........
Being a Cradley Heath fan i remember this. John Eskildsen ended up with his fingers badly cut after putting them in the fence. England v Denmark Test Match in the mid eighties.
Argh Nasty !
