Dog Diaper Poop Pocket Solution for Senior Dog or for incontinent issues. H
If you have a dog wearing diapers and have an issue with the poop coming out of the tail hole, or the poop sitting inside the diaper overnight causing a rash or other issue, I have figured out a perfect solution that works! If you have to use diapers for your dog that are too big because the size under is too small or tight, and poop comes out of the tail hole, just use a hot glue gun to securely attach a plastic ziploc to the outside perimeter of the tail opening in the diaper. My issue is that my dog is on the border of Medium to Large diapers. Medium is too small and large is too large. Poop will come out of the tail opening onto the floor in his area, and then he will step in it, and make an enormous mess for me to clean with poop everywhere. With my home made poop pocket, all of the poop goes into the bag. Even if the diaper somehow falls off during the night, the poop is contained in the bag. This is also great for people who don't want poop sitting in their dog's diaper for hours at night when sleeping causing dog skin irritation. If you have a perfect fitting diaper, just cut the tail opening a little longer and make sure the diaper is snug and pulled up. I noticed that Walmart online sells suspenders for dogs to hold the diapers up and in place.

Adding rubber shelf liner to the bottoms of non-slip dog socks make the best non-slip surface. If you find that your dog is still sliding on your floors or on the pee pee pads with non-slip socks on, just add a piece of shelf liner to the bottoms with a hot glue gun. Sew the shelf liner on rather than the glue for it to be longer lasting.

What type of glue? What i really need is "no slip" warm high winter boot that "stays on" for walking my dog on ice and in snow. I've tried so many. We both love walks in the winter weather. We live in ILLINOIS. She is 14 and want to keep her safe
Thank you!! My 14 year old Australian shepherd mix is losing the strength in her back legs so she really struggles to get up now. She has a doggie door to go outside anytime she needs to, but by the time she struggles to get up, she either cant make it all the way to the door or she poops in her bed from the effort. I will wake up to a trail of poop and or pee from her bed, all the way across the house to the doggie door. Then, what really gets me, is she will go outside, spend tons of time out ther, then come in and drop a load as soon as she gets through the door. I am so exhausted from cleaning up poop all day. If it was just a pile here or there, that would be one thing, but it is like she intentionally steps in it and walks it all over the house. It is getting really bad now because her legs are getting worse and i am having to give her a bath multiple times a day, which is hard on both of us. Everyone has suggested the diaper, but i have never even considered it because it seems like it would make the mess worse on her. I would rather clean it off of the floor than to have it moosh all over her bottom half every time she goes potty. This is giving me hope. I am ordering diapers right now and am going to give it a try. Thank you for sharing.

@LindaLou-k6j it worked a little, but some poop went in the bag and some in her diaper. It may be because she has very runny poop most of the time. If it was solid poop, I think it would work pretty well. I ended up just shaving her bum so when she does poop, I can just wash her off with a couple of baby wipes. I still end up having g to give her frequent baths, when the poop gets in her tail hair, or it is extremely smelly to the point that the wipes just can't clean it off, but the wipes help a lot. I am surprised as to how well she has taken to them. As soon as she soils her diaper, she let's me know and walks over to the box of diapers that I keep beside her bed and stands there until I change her. She does not like a soiled diaper at all, so she demands I change her, even if she has a tiny little tinkle. The diapers are becoming quite expensive, 2lsince she tinkles a little quite frequently,, so I have just placed an order for some of the diaper liners to try out during the day, inside of a washable diaper, to see if it cuts down on the cost of diapers. I hope they work without soiling the cloth diaper each time she pees. If I can at least get a days wear out of one diaper by only changing the pad, it will really help cut down the cost of diapers.

What you describe is EXACTLY what I go thru with my dog except my dog is tiny. She always steps in it then I have little poopy pawprints all over the place! Oh my goodness, this is a lot to do….getting out the glue gun & all. But I appreciate your excellent instructions & sharing your solution. People keep telling me to put a diaper on her but I keep thinking what a mess that will be to clean her up after that! Thank you very much.

This is a great idea, but what about mischievous dogs who would eat that tear apart and eat the plastic possibly choke on it? It’s not an easy task for sure to figure out.

Thank you so much for this. My girl is 13, ridgeback wolfhound cross and has no feeling when it comes to pooing which always seems to be happening at night. I wake up to shit all over her back end and all over her bedding, im waiting on a shoulder replacement and im finding it so hard to hold her and clean her at the same time. This idea will be a godsend, thankyou.❤
I bought some silicone caulking to reinforce the non slip on the dog socks. Flatten the lines with a popsicle stick or something similar. There’s a video that uses the same product for nonslip rugs. You just have to wait for it to dry completely. Your way is faster!

Or….!!!! Take a round Tupperware and you can cut the top off of the container and the center of the lid…. So you just have the edges that snap to together…. Then you can use a dog poo bag and snap it between the two -- and the one piece would be glued onto the diaper or whatever reusable underwear you use. Or… lol just tie a grow ey bag on and ise the handles as leg holes and let his tail stay in the bag. (Maybe bag the tail separately to keep it clean) Haha so many ideas I just don’t know which one will work best and be easiest. (There’s my lane contribution to UA-cam ideas)
We need a video. I cant understand what you're saying in words. I'm thinking the snap wouldn't be useful in disposable though.
You need to figure out a way to not have to glue EVERY BAG…. Maybe put a doggy poo bad INSIDE on your bag and that can just be replaced? (Like pull the edges out the sides of the leg holes to keep the inner bag up around him!
Can you explain. Once a dog pees in a diaper, it's trash. So how would she not have to glue a bag on every disposable diaper?
Maybe if it was a reusable washable diaper it would better to find a reusable baggie solution

Laura, I have a paralyzed male wiener dog, what kind or brand of male diapers are these? And, with as long as the Doxys are, would this work for the urine to stay in the feont part of the diaper? We are at our whits end, we was our dog almost daily and washing bedding and blankets almost daily. This would be SUCH a help, its always mushy poop!!!
I know this is late, but my dachshund had an acute issue with his back and we used these diapers. But also because we had a male, we used another diaper called a belly band type which wraps around the mid section. So we used both. We put the belly band on first, and then overlapped it with the diaper like in this video. I hope that helps, and I’m sorry you’re little fella is going through a hard time.

That's a great question. Thinking about it, she did say dont worry about gluing the top so im thinking the tail must come through that area on the top where she doesn't glue the bag to the diaper
