Exceptionally clear teaching.

Thanks for sharing 👏👏👏🙏🏿
Good thanks! This is useful for my upcoming 1st Kyu grading. Practical part where you defend against someone with boxing gloves is a nice touch!

PHILOSOPHY THE KI TO WAR PaulTeich©️03/15/2024 My hands My hands have pounded rice My hands of hounded beans My hands have pale pebbles My hands have pounded rock My hands have been jabbed through buckets of all of these things My hands have broken boards My hands are broken five boards My feet have broken boards I broke five boards with my feet My hands have pounded railroad ties My hands have pounded telephone polls My feet have pounded telephone polls My hands have pounded trees My feet have pounded trees My arms, my legs, my body have been pounded by sticks Boken Hanbo Roku shaku bow And the iron arm I have been beaten broken I have beaten and broken I remember the snap of my tibia and fibula I have felt the sting of nunchuku As I have felt the soft throw sending me aloft 6 feet in the air and across the mat of Aikido I have felt the hip throw of Hapkido I have felt the highflying kick of tae kwon do I have been brutalized and amazed by Koga Ru ninjutsu I remember elements of Okinawan Kenpo Chinese Kenpo And American Kenpo And there was praying, mantis kung fu And jukafushido There’s more But I’m old now And I have only my grandchildren to teach my kung fu And the knowledge that we train and harden ourselves, so that we can be soft and know when not to fight Two hands must join together as their energies must join in common cause to form a throw and go in the same direction The one who knows that can redirect the other, and cause peace or submission, and end all fighting The one who knows that Can redirect the evil ones ki Like, stepping into the path of the sword Can place you in heaven #peaceandlove #martialartsjourney #ceasefirenow
interesting!
does SHE provide private lessons?
🥱
i see use too much force..
May the force be with you! 🤣
This was fun to watch! Congratulations to Ellen!
If this is shodan test why are they already wearing black belts?
I'm wondering that too.
In many schools ladies are permitted to wear hakama before they reach Shodan. Traditionally this is due to modesty and tradition as the gi was merely considered humble undergarments.
Only works with a cooperative opponent.
I sat here typing out why you are wrong, and then I realized it's pointless. This and the other forms of iriminage are basically fancy cousins of osoto-gari and sukui-nage and no one questions those techniques. The falls taken by the partner are there to enable safe practice. Sometimes they over-do it a bit but the point there is to keep people safe. Iriminage without a proper fall ends up with a head smacking off the ground. If you've never tried it, reserve your judgement. Feeling is believing.
Um. This is only in demonstration.
Excellent!
Good stuff as always.
Nope. Only works with a cooperative opponent.
@@avigator By definition, an "opponent" is never cooperative.
@@nbednar So, how do you call the guy in the video? Aikido dance partner?🕺🏼 😅
Nice and simply explained even I got it😅
Uke lives matter!
What was it?? in aikido, use free sparring during the exam??
Super! Thanks)
You may have something to say that is of interest to me. I would not know because you mumble. If you post anything on UA-cam have a look at it. If it is no good - fix it.
I like the takedown to the arm bar. Definitely effective. But why switch to nikyo from there?
Wow. Wonderful 🎉 practice. Well deserved Shodan.
Always great videos. Thanks for sharing.
An exemplary shodan test that sets a high bar. Deeply impressed.
👍👍👍
👍 Thank you sir !
I'm a first dan in Shotokan Karate. I should of been a higher degree but like everything in life things got in my way. Over all I have such respect for Aikido. During my years in karate as a student I was always on the receiving end of a technique. Understanding pressure point using gravity against someone strong or taller is crucial especial pain. In recent years you see people in law enforce, military using such technique but they don't understand the fundament of what they are doing when applying such practice on others. The ending result can be deadly. Great video thankyou so much for posting this. Much respect....
How many people would be so compliant in an attack? 😆
Uke needs to "mindlessly" commit to the attack. He was falling before nage touched him.
You must be joking.
😂😂😂🤣
Is there ever a real attack in aikido?
The best grading in aikido ever😊
I've been studying aikido for over 30 years now and Sensei and Kaicho, this was an awesome test, this young fellow was doing the best he could. You taught him well. I enjoyed very much. (And i actually learned something) i found the suwari waza and the koshinage exceptional and he kept on going no matter what.... admiration! Arigatou!
Looks great at 10 %
Good luck using that in a street fight.
You did it well!!
Awesome - I miss training with you guys!!
You're all wasting your time none of this works in a fight
Excellent demonstration of the high standards required at Tenzan Aikido.
Thank you. This really emphasises the importance of kamae, and the centre line within kamae. Yhss as njs for sharing your insight.
Great video! i remember watching you take your Shodan exam at summer camp. what was it 45 years ago?
Thank you 🙇♂
Thank you for sharing. I hope I can train under this dojo when I move to Seattle next year.
I think Bookman Sensei's needs to start being referred to as: "Professor Bookman". His innovation of Aikido techniques is unmatched!
