hello & welcome to my cozy and wholesome corner of the internet ✨ my name is katie & I'm a canadian artist/illustrator with too many hobbies 🎨 🌿 📚 🧶 🎹
I make videos & vlogs about my life as a part-time artist, running my small art business (Fun Gal Studio), & occasional tutorials. outside of art I make content about adventures in nature, my soon-to-be-husband & our life together, my (very cute) dogs, mental health, and whatever other fun things I'm up to 💖

art market prep vlog 🌞🌱🍄 setting up my display, making clay pins/magnets + art store haul!!
hello friends!! welcome to the CRAZIEST summer of my life (that is also shaping up to be one of the best 🥲)
I was extremely fortunate to be accepted to be a vendor at the Edmonton Folk Festival Artisan Market this year, one of my all time dream art markets!! and it went even better than I imagined 🥺 💖
In the process of vlogging my prep process, I got so much footage that I had to split it into 2 videos - so here in part 1 we’ll start getting my display sorted, order marketing materials like my new banner and business cards, make & order a ~ton~ of products including clay pins/magnets-plus some fun stuff like a date at the telus world of science + an art store haul!
In part 2 we’ll finish what we started here & I’ll also recap the festival and share reflections, sound good sweet beans?? ok love you lots, and thanks as always for being here!
xoxo Katie

Loved your video. Thank you!
Hey there, just wondering where you get your goods printed (stickers, cards, bookmarks...:).
Thank you so much for the great info! I started making hand crafted cards a couple of years ago but haven't put myself out there yet. I had some sales through ladies I know but now I would like to branch out and make some printed cards and start an Etsy shop. I feel so overwhelmed already. Trying to set up my epson for the best quality print is something I would really love to know more about! Id also love to know how to start a shop on Etsy, I have no idea what I am doing *cries*. I'm also in Canada!
Do they blend well?
Such a great video ❤ Do you have any tips on how to secure things down at an outdoor market on a windy day?
Found your channel recently am enjoying your art business vlogs. Molotov is another acrylic marker brand. They are refillable and come in several tip sizes. Looking forward to part 2. 😊
welcome friend & thank you so much 🥺❤ ooh I will definitely have to check that brand out!
Can I ask what paper you have found best for your art prints? Thank you.
I use matte photo paper from staples!
24:00 Girl. The justification game is on point. I love it. 😂 Life is short. Buy fun art supplies.
More! More! More! ❤
The pins look so good, watched and enjoyed till the end ☺☺
AW thanks so much chantelle!!!
If I were to get married, it would definitely be in the Fall! I'm so happy for you! And I love your sticker display, that is such a good idea. :)
I am absolutely hyped for the fall wedding vibes!! thanks sabrina 💖💖
I loved this vlog! I found your content recently and really enjoy the things you do. Thanks for the great video :)
welcome friend!!! ❤thank you so much for the kind words and I'm so glad you're here!
Yayyy! new Video hyped to watch it now
🥺❤
Ahhhhh got it! I also love Red River I was circling around them - but now I’ll for sure use them. I’ll use your link. Thank you so much ! ❤
Thank you for this video! This has been super helpful! New subbing here!
Hi great video- do you also consider the cost of mailing the cards to the buyers?
I don't factor that into my costs because my customers pay for shipping when they purchase from my website or faire:)
Hello Katie. Im happy i found your video. I love how you show us sample or prepare for display set-up. I also found in your other videos about how you make stickers and cards beacause i love stickers very much. Love, watching from Philippines❤
where do you get your prints and cards made?
I make them myself on my epson printer!
I have been looking for the gitters with the little metal connectors to display art, but where to buy them cheap and what is the specific name of them?
What pencil are you using !?
it's a staedtler mars lumograph black either 8b or 6b:)
Thanks for all your experience tips.
This was so helpful, thank you! Your creations are lovely 😊
And YAY for mushrooms!!!
She was a fairy kkkk you are soo cool, inspires me
I have a tip for you. I saw a UA-cam of a gal that was doing a similar recording. Is you sharing these wonderful ideas but she said those Uline racks are three times as expensive as a dog crate and I think she got a large dog crate and it’s alreadyconnected you just fold it flat for storage but check it out
Hi
Very cool. Helpful as I’m just starting do craft fairs!
oooh those are some pretty colours! happy birthday lovely ❤
Love this ❤️ also happy belated birthday!!
@@chloe4983 thank you❤️❤️
Happy Birthday! <3 I remember when I turned 29 :,)
Wait until you hit she 50! Ok ..55. but yea, you just wait how weird that is. Lol (I wrote this before I watched the whole video) heehee😂

Happy Birthdayyyy 🥰🥳🥳🥳🥳 I wish you all the best
thank you friend!!!
Wow this is actually so helpful, thank you especially for including transparency on the prices!
oh yay I'm so glad to hear it was helpful!! ❤
This is such a helpful video, thanks! Having my first stand in November with linocut printed cards, wooden pins and magnets and such things. Thank you so much for this video! I also have the idea of making some sort of "lottery", so where people can draw out for only 2,- or something and get a small thing - like a bookmark or something. Just an idea I need to see if it makes sense for the items I sell. I have seen this on some markets and it is always fun to draw something where you don't know what you get and the relatively low prize makes more people attend your stand where they maybe would not have bought something otherwise.
oooh wonderful good luck in november!! that sounds like a super fun idea :D

You and your pups kept me company while I cleaned and organized my studio. Love hanging out with you guys. Do you use the scanner on your wide format printer, or which one do you use? Thanks so much for your content!! Lisa (@LisasCanvas)
hi lisa!!! ❤ the pups and I are honoured to be your company hehe. I use the scanner on my printer and it works amazingly!
the bundling thing is something im scared of, but it does seem more worth
I hear ya, I was scared of it at first too but in my opinion it really helps with sales & is worth it overall!
New card business co owner here I'm starting one using jail/prison inmate artwork any opinions about if you printer scans well?? I'm not LLC'd yet but will be next week goal is to provide support and money to inmates but also create unique art that's doc mail room approved no 2 cards will be the same and we're gonna contract out the artists 😊
@@andreaburke2410 my Epson printer scans very well!! Best of luck with your venture that sounds really cool😍
Awww HIIIIIIII 😊 I just found you today and am so glad I did. You have such a sweet, chill and wholesome vibe and your art is fabulous. OMFG my bestie and I literally live next door to eachother and we just discussed this bahahaha that we should do video call while we’re crafting in our separate houses lol Wow love seeing you paint! I do wax, resin, clay, fibre and beaded items so far 😂 I literally just realized how crafty I am like a year ago 😂 now I can’t stop making shit. Ahh Love the costume!!! Nice job Hehehehe. Giiiiiiiiirl!!! Just put fairy lights around or something! I have little stained glass lamps and mushroom nightlights all over my house and fairy lights and candles. ❤ I love the ambiance. Oh and a fake fire place hahahaha Omfg i absolutely LOVE mushrooms. Oh wow your sweater is beautiful holy shit 😮oh and I hit play all and started at old videos ❤
Good tips one question how can I search for the grid wall you used
if you search "grid shelves" lots of options for that type of thing should come up!
@@maybekatie Thank you!, also I want it to know where do you get the plastic you used to protect the prints on those grids how do you call them? I live in Colombia and I haven't able to get them
Thanks for showing your actual booth layout. Just starting out and this was very helpful! Take care…❤
I'm so glad to hear that! 🥰 good luck with your future markets!!
Thank you very much, this video really help me a lot in preparing for my own booth! Love you~ ❤

New subscriber here, love your content! Are you a fulltime artist or do you work pt/ft elsewhere? Looking to make the leap!
oh hi, so happy to have you! 💖 I am a part time artist, I'm also working a handful of part-time jobs right now to pay the bills 💸I totally relate to dreaming of the LEAP and hope I can do it one day too!!
What a cute video!
mail man duck could save the world & the us postal workers ❤🤯💪🏻
he's got big dreams!!!!
Awesome video. Just discovered you this morning and subscribed. Love your doggies too.
thank you so much kathryn! <3 so glad you're here!
Why does almost every statement sound like a question, with inflection at the end? That is so annoying that i can't even get through the video
What 😂 I think maybe it’s a characteristic of her Canadian “accent” cause I’m Canadian too and it sounds normal
Yeah it’s just a cadence thing. In UK English and parts of the US we tend to pitch down at the end of a sentence. The exception is asking questions, when our pitch goes up. So naturally a regional cadence that goes up at the end for a non-question sounds unusual to us. Neither way is correct, it’s just different speaking styles.
Hi! Love your video, I was wondering where did you got that amazing interlocking display? I can't find it anywhere but its exactly what I was looking for!! <3
do you mean the one with the risers with the little grooves in it?? it's technically a jewelry stand so maybe searching that would help you find it! <3
