What happened to the other canopy? or why you set this one this way? you didn't like the other one or what happen?
This one failed . I need something different
In case of a motor malfunction, you think it will be a good idea to have a paddle ?
Proubly a good idea !
Yo Gigga Chad, glad you are back. You ARE the dark wolf 😀
@mxc2272 I need time to rebuild my life . Everything whent south about 6 months ago , my buisness whent under when the engine in my truck blew up and then the boat sank. But I do have plans to finish the loop eventually!
Yeah thanks for posting. I'm about 5 years or so out from trying this and I'm already nervous. I'm buying a boat with dual thrusters for sure
The way I was doing the loop in trips and sections, my next boat would be a trailerable boat with a small single engine. Then I can put it in the water for a few weeks then pull it out
Looking for a motor for my pwr100. I was looking all the up to a 5 but I have never put a motor on. What do you suggest?
Electric is a good option , a small 3.5 hp gas a good option you wont run out of battery , but it depends what your looking to do with it. With the mercury 3.5hp your gping to cruise at about 4.5mph
This is so bad a video. You started off talking about anchoring and i never did hear anything about that in your video. Hiw big is your anchor and what type? Do you have a freshwater wash down for your chain? Do you run a bridal and a swivel? How do you mark your chain so you know how much you have out? How much scope do you use overnight? Humbug!!!
I never washed the chain . On 20 feet of water I would put out atleast 75 feet , 120 feet if I have the room. It was more a video of me cruising the boat for the first time. I know I could have been more informative. Thanks for watching !
Nice video, the boat moves pretty fast.
Going to upgrade soon maybe the next video to 6hp outboard
@@TheBoatingDiaries Yeah do that. I wanna see if she can handle a 6hp! 👍
I have the same vessel. I bout mine new in 1986. We used her on the Great Lakes. Great family boat.
It sank 2 months ago ! Broke my heart I lost all the time I put into it , money etc
Do you have a link for that hose expander tool? I cantbfind snything similar online. Thx.
Called a tail pipe expander , harbor freight sells one too
SUPPOSED TO PUT CLAMS IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS I THINK
That is correct clamps should be in opposite directions, but also the clamps need to be a T bolt clamps. It all sealed once I put the correct clamps on and the hose cooled off from the heat
What a shame your trawler sank. The engines were so good. Hang in there. Watching from Orlando, fl
You get into those big boats and they come with big bills ! Once the insurance company settles it , it will free up resources. I am sticking with the kayak and my van for now and maybe in a few months if I can get a small trailerable boat with a single outboard ,like a 26' I could do that . Something that dont require heavy equipment every time it needs to come out of the water , or pay huge slip fees. I can run it then when I'm finished , haul it out and store it.
Do you think I could put a 4hp? I really want reverse
I bought an upgrade hit from ready set boat that is supposed to make the 3.5hp a 5hp with a bigger carb and aluminum prop. Going to get the kayak out in a few days. I think u could put a 9hp if u wanted to !
there is a guy that does a lot of reviews and he said he tried to put a 5 hp on but it didnt work. I am assuming of weight of motor. @@TheBoatingDiaries
@@RoyWatson-e6o I dont see why not . maybe need to sit more forward ?
did the 3.5 outboard feel like it was gonna tip
Not at all , will post more content soon with this setup ! Thanks for watching !!
To dock a boat like that on the first try you must have salt water in your veins.
I'm used to being around equipment
What type of speed? Top ,cruise, hull speed and fuel usage? Great looking boat.
Speed wide open is about 18 mph ,cruise speed on this trawler is about 8mph. Full displacement hull. Twin yanmar diesels
Repower to diesel is not cheap.
Nice docking.
Slow and steady on the wheel lol
Hey! I live here in new bern. Wish i had the $$ to buy your boat!
I recently got my trucking company going , so it looks like I'm going to keep it now. As of now anyway ! I'll be in New Bern next week and start to shoot another video. It has been a few months.
We have an 1889 Mainship, just like yours. Great boat. Hope you enjoy yours. 🏴☠️
Not like mine , mine was repowered in 2001 with twin yanmar diesels ! It is fun , taking a break from the boat because I have work obligations.
I’d like to see an accommodations tour. Thanks
You got it!
@@TheBoatingDiaries I had the same boat back in 1988. We had so much fun with it. It was perfect for my wife, son and me. I lost all of our photos from the period in my life due to a house fire. It be interested to see the staterooms and head. Thanks so much for your channel.
You still in New Bern? We're just down the river from there on Northwest Creek living aboard. Boat party?
Sounds fun lol
Oh I see your a little bit south of new bern
I have to tell you, when you took off across the river with the dinghy rolled up on it, and your bags on it, it was looking kinda sketchy
Just very uncomfortable and trying to balance myself . This thing is great ! However I will be using the roll up dingy if I need to load a boat into my van when i leave etc. Because the Kayak just takes up so much space in my van. The roll up dingy rolls up and I can put it out of my way in the van.
It was great meeting you! We enjoyed hearing all about your 2:52 travels. We hope to cross paths with you again. Safe and fun travels to you!
So I looked up and north carolina requires you to register a kayak if you put a motor on it ?! I also need to register my big boat if I stay longer than 90 days so I have to definitely work on that so I don't get any citations. I moved the boat further out into the river and put stern anchors out so its not going anywhere
@@TheBoatingDiaries we had register the one had. We saw that you moved it. Is there an exception if you are just visiting?
No exceptions. But it's fairly easy to do online just uploading the registration etc and they mail you the new registration
Dude! I’m right down the river from you. Let’s hang out! I’m located in Trent Woods.
Are you ready to Buy one of these Kayaks ! Lol
better have a deadman switch on that thing.
It has the stock tether cut off switch
I've been following you since the beginning but to keep people engaged you should at least put out a video one a week.
I dont really want to do a daily vlog. This is more a series of my boating. You can watch from the oldest first and see my series from the first video to the last or current.
Nice meeting you today in New Bern. Did you make it back across the river? How did the new little boat do?
I think it's a winner lol
Wow so you have a nomadic heritage through your family. Is that where the idea for the 'Nomadic' name comes from for your trawler and scooter channels?
I will do a video about me in the future. But in short I have traveled and lived on the road for most my life.
I'd love to get an EUC.
Do it , now lol this thing is actually pretty fast and yes I have fallen off it and I dislocated my shoulder once !
@@TheBoatingDiaries oh that sounds painful. I didn't quite go as badly when I come off my electric scooter. But I scraped up one arm and one leg and knee. It took a couple of months before I started to look better. I also totally destroyed both charging ports on my scooter. Luckily, that was quite a low speed crunch.
I think it's all about the safety gear that we're wearing when (not if) we come off!
Good luck with the protest at the Whitehouse this week. Be safe!!!!
Awesome to see you on the inmotion V11 EUC. Do you still have all your electric scooters?
I have my dultron thunder 2 and my dualtron x. i will get them out in my future videos
@@TheBoatingDiaries Awesome, keep PEV ing when you can. It's o much fun! I Look forward to seeing you ride your Dualtrons and your inmotion EUCs occasionally.
Hi Chad, I miss your scooter travel and camping videos.
I got to old and fat lol
@@TheBoatingDiaries Brother you do what makes you happy. Just know that your videos make other people happy, whether they show boat travel or scooter travel. Your content may have changed, but your presentation is very you! 😃 I love your style. You have so much ability to pass on your knowledge. It's your mission here on this planet. Give other people your passion to learn what you know. Never give up your talent. Just change the journey as you feel the need. All the best for the future.
@@TheBoatingDiaries I will always continue to watch your old scooter videos while they remain available. The content of your nomadic scooter channel has inspired me with my interest in electric scooters. Your presentation of information is always organised in a manner which is logical, easy to follow and exciting to watch.
@terran.cmb.at.gmail.dot.com. I actually found the little electric vehicles very fascinating and fun. I still have a few like my EUC and dualtron x and dualtron thunder 2. Very very fast. The thunder 2 is so fast it spins the tires out on pavement in 1st gear
Wow! Sounds awesome. I would love to test ride one of those Dualtron models. It would be so much fun.🙂
I hate to ask, were you watching your depth finder? That’s a better way to tell if your gonna hit bottom. By the time you see the mud behind you, it’s usually too late. I do have a question, it seems like it would be difficult to see anything off the side of the boat with no windows in that “enclosure” on the bridge. Do you have plans to build an enclosure with isinglass windows?
The depth finder is not working . not sure if i have plans to replace it . I do need to haul the boat out and replace the cutless bearings on the pro shafts and paint the bottom
Does not need to be that tight. Undo wear on pump and alt. Belt bearings. Will stretch way faster that tight. Belts should have half inch deflection. Have fun on your adventure.
I believe a kit is sold to upgrade to new pullys and a serpentine belt system. These belts are kinda crap , I got them at auto zone and have some wear.
@@TheBoatingDiaries they will last for years. No need to tighten like that. Serpentines were made so you can run water pump, alternator, A C, power steering, and anything the engine has. One belt instead of a few, u got water pump and alt. No need for serpentine. U have the money, have at it. Enjoy the adventure.
Enjoy ur stuff; look forward to ur stuff.
Hey thanks I out a lot of time and money into the videos.
Are you working your way up to Del-a-where? I am off the C&D Canal and would be like to buy you a beer at Schaefer's Canal House 🍺. Thank you for the videos! I am enjoying the ride 🚤
I have to see how thing s look in a month or 2 . As far as winter. I wanted to go to a Anchorage state park in Plattsburgh,NY way up north but not sure because I think the water freezes in the winter ?? But I can definitely go north to Pennsylvania etc
bravo- cool view, Nomadic-😯
Thanks for watching !! I really like making the videos even thou it can be alot of work
Have you read any of the Clive Cussler books? He passed away a while ago but other authors have taken over. Most of the books have a nautical theme and are quite good. Not sure if you're into that but I enjoy them.
I just picked a book up at a local bookstore on boating by Robert j Armstrong, getting started in powerboating. Not sure if the guy is still alive , it was copy written in 1995 and he looks like he's 70 in his book picture. But he had a lot of experience in power boats etc. I will look at that author u mentioned.
So if I heard you right, that boat doesn't have a a/c in it
This dose ! I would not recommend being in Southern Georgia or Florida in the summer without it ! Thanks for checking out my series
Happy Belated Birthday, Captain! Cheers! 🍻
Thank you kindly
Good view and enjoy video ☺👍 still update ❤
After this hurricane passes , going to get this boat moving again . Thanks for watching
Thanks for posting, looking forward to the next one!!!
Iam not doingba daily video , but more of a series or places I stay to visit and boating trips. Every month or so I'll post a video.
Drone footage; nice!
That is a Mavic 3 pro . I will show it in one of my later videos. Thanks for watching
Diesel is much safer to have on a boat than gasoline. Gasoline fumes accumulate in places and that's not good. Safe travels to you.
Wow, you are terrible
There's no current - you had the wheel hard to Port.
We just passed you across from Jekyll. It looks like your dingy was out, so maybe you were at Zach's. 2023/07/27 7:35pm
I still work ! I haven't been to Zachs yet , but I know it's there by the marina. I just haven't been out much. I got the boat up there and then had some errands and stuff to do. But that's why I plan to stay a few months so I can visit the island and try some of the restaurants. I would like to try the driftwood bistro also. Thanks for watching the video.
@@TheBoatingDiaries what is your draft?
@lil_1443 it's maybe around 4 ft. The boat dose sit on the mud on low tide. Soon as the water starts to drop.
@@TheBoatingDiaries Ok, because we were 100ft off your port and we were seeing under 4 ft, so we were worried about you.
@lil_1443 only go there on high tide. It's a layer of security so no one can get to the boat lol it's only a few inches deep once the tide starts going down
Thanks for stopping by Titusville. CIAO😎
Your going to be world famous now on youtube
Sounds like a great trip
hit a few bad storms ! nothing crazy thou
all very interesting!
TY. Boating is something different.
