Love the welsh from scotland
Same, from England.
i was part of the royal Corps of Signals Pipes and Drums back in 2000 at the age of 15 then a month later the lead drummer had to go back and do training which left me to be the lead drummer for the late HM the Queen Mothers 100th birthday. remember it like it was yesterday.
John Phillip Sousa - royal welch fusilier. Composed by John Phillip Sousa in 1930..John Phillip Sousa was leader of the us marine band presidents own.
I was part of the WW2 fire team. A great week stationed at Wellington Barracks. I had the opportunity to visit the Guards museums and stores, and held a VC. Great memories that I will always cherish.
The only thing that spoiled it for me was watching displays, then cutting away to watch the aircraft, they should have had a seperate flying display
Massed bands corps of drums pipes and drums British armed forces
Was on parade that day on video
I was there as a 14 y/o with my father that was in the group of Americans that re-enacted the 23rd. I just found this video today when thinking about the Queen and how she just died this morning.

BRILLIANT!!!! So happy to see this online. I was there as a 22-year old American college student and Fusilier in the 23rd Regt. RWFIA. To this day I remember 21 Apr 89 as one of the highlights of my life.
I too my father to this
Then let us pray that come it may, as come it will for all that, That man to man the world o'er shall brothers be for all that. Robert Burns 1759 /1796.
Great, Great and again great
A wonderful event and a great honour to have been part of it. A delight to work with Major Sir Michael Parker on many events in London from VE Day and RMT 2000 to HM Queen Elizabeth II Golden & Diamond Jubilees. Thank you Sir Michael. Wonderful memories.
Anyone know what the march after Old Chums is?w
Bloody brilliant !!!
23rd grenadier company and light infantry
Proud day of my life! Seen myself 4 times in this vid! Thanks for sharing
Absolutely fantastic!! When I was in the RAF I was lucky enough to be sent to this, I was on ushering duties in the Royal stand with two gurkhas, it was one of the best things I ever did. This brings back so many memories. Thanks for sharing it.
Not the RAF Band I hope. We were getting nothing but complaints from them because the loud noise from the cannon's caused some injuries. They weren't impressed when they went on parade at Wellington Barracks to see our cannon's fitted with silencers and everyone with cotton wool in our ears 🤣
They don't call them blue orchids for nothing - pack of fragile pansies!
Scott Taylor, what fantastic posts. Great to see the RMT 2000 in full again and this video was a great treat. When I thought I had been lucky enough to have seen everything still on video from this great man, you posted this. First time I have ever seen it. Fantastic stuff. If you haven't read Major Sir Michael's book, you must. It is a fantastic read. You may also be interested in a new idea I have had. Ceremonial News a publication to promote all things ceremonial. These links may tell you a little more. As a huge fan of Michael's work and all things ceremonial it would be great for you to get involved. I am also producing a small tattoo in 2021. Whilst our budget is very small I can not help being influenced by the great Royal Tournaments. We will not just be staging a series of marching bands, we hope to make our show suitably spectacular in its own way. Thank you again for these posts. www.ceremonialnews.co.uk/ ua-cam.com/video/kFjh3ZJ8Jig/v-deo.html facebook.com/thebritishinternationaltattoo/?modal=admin_todo_tour
Gareth Butler do you have a means I can message you privately please.
@@scotttaylor7784 gareth86@msn.com great to hear from you
Thank you so much for posting this...I was thrilled to see it..for the first time......apart from the fact that I come across as a pompous prat, it’s great....I remember so will the young boys ‘dying’ it was rather moving as those who were slaughtered in the trenches were only a couple of years older.....of the 320 major events I produced sadly there are so many of which I have no photographic evidence...so it is a great treat to ‘discover’ another one...thank you again. Michael P
Michael Parker you are welcome. Father was on parade, in number 2 guard. I grew up with ceremonial and I love watching these things. I grew up excited to see the Royal Tournament and the Edinburgh Tattoo. Sadly I was to young to watch your productions live with my first visit live in 1996. It really is an amazing experience corresponding with you after growing up admiring your productions Thank you
It brought a tear to my eye to see RMT 2000 again.....it was well worth all the heartache and problems on the way..from the complaints from the Prime Minister..Blair...who Whinged that it too loud....to the multitude of Bureaucrats who said it wouldn’t work...it was saved by Rear Admiral Rod Lees, who as The Services Representative in the Palace did well ‘above and beyond the call of Duty’ who supported me through thick and thin..Thank you
Michael Parker wow I’m glad that the man behind this Tattoo has found it on UA-cam :). I also have another of your creations on my channel. The tercentenary parade of the Royal Welch Fusiliers.
@@scotttaylor7784 gosh I’d love to see that !

It's a shame that the Napoleonic part wasn't included in the video. I was on one of the cannons and would have loved to see that. I still remember our cue. When Nelson's body is brought back to England, there's a cockney woman's voice that says "WHAT WE WANT IS HIS SEMEN!" 🤣 And yes, I know the annoyance of Blair complaining about the noise, although I potentially didn't help with that, seeing as I was making our rounds up and I might have "accidentally" put more than 4 oz in when we heard he was complaining about the noise... *cough*.
@@Pieh0If you can find the CD soundtrack, that bit is on there.
I was lucky enough to be in London in the summer of 2000 and witness the tattoo. Thank you so much for bringing back the amazing memories.
I remember it well, staying at that shithole Nescliffe while we went daily for rehearsals, great memories of meeting the USMC silent drill team, even managed to get a t shirt from them, hard to believe it was 31 years ago
I remember it too Miki I was 3rd Battalion. I remember firing up those pot belly stoves and nearly melting my nasty green plastic mattress. Good times though, and remember getting hammered at the 3 feathers? 3 pigeons or something down the road. Was a lot of work that parade for something that's now long long ago, but at least I still have the medallion and the programs from the day.
And in the presence of the most incompetent photographer that could be found in Wales. Idiot couldn't get a single pho right.
