The sound from the Pepsi Center concert is the best I've ever heard on a live recording. The songs from this concert even sound better than the studio versions in my opinion. It's especially unbelievable because they were getting over the flu when they played this and almost had to cancel.

Tarja was a revelation in metal music in the nineties. and Nightwish music different from anything else. over the years they developed a very specific sound. Tarja leaving the band was a huge setback, Anette couldn't fill the gap. With Floor they got back on track.

A short they did this week says they are releasing an album soon. Assume it will probably have a lot of the songs they have released over the past year. Maybe even some updated older songs.

As a metalhead who was a teen in the late 80s and early 90s this is some of the best music that I have heard for 25-30 years. And their live shows is just mindblowing. I would rather see The Warning then Metallica at a concert. These girls are so gifted in so many ways.

"Breathe" according to Pau is a panic attack set to music. Very personal song for Pau. Pau wrote "Black Holes" when she was 13 and it's about a story she read about an addict and what was happening in his life and his addiction. I still listen to "XXI Century Blood" album more than all the other three. You need to listen to both songs live at the Pepsi Center.

Is this the hardest riff to every be played on camel back? Certainly the hardest one I've ever seen.

My theory on Babymetals recent colobs? Babymetal has been recruiting all of these amazing metal bands for colabs as part of a larger plan to finally unite all of the 1000s of seperate metal sub-genres and fanbases under one metal flag. Once we are all united under one flag, we will finally have the numbers to rise up and together we will topple commercialised "popular" music once and for all. Its either that, or possibly, Babymetal just enjoy the creative exercise of infusing thier particular style of Japenese metal with top tier metal bands from around the world. But it's definitely, 100% one of those two options.

I'm with you mate. My whole life, all these lazy guitarists, barely a single stunt between them. I mean, I've see an Australian punkabilly gutarist stand on his bandmates double bass during a solo, but that's ankther story. but metal guitarists? nary a backflip between them. But that's Bloodywood for ya isn't it, they'll see you're hard hitting metal and then raise you some guiarist acrobatics 🤘😂

It's worth mentioning that the production in the music videos are old mixes. Each of the songs that you watched an old music video for - they were remixed and, in many places, re-recorded for the album. Check out JEE VEEREY and MACHI BASAD in the album versions, you'll see they're quite different in feel.

And then - AND THEN - less than 60 seconds later she's back behind the kit for Enter Sandman. If you watch closely, you'll notice it takes her a couple of measures to shake off the emotion from Breathe ... but you'll never hear it in her drumming.

Quick English lesson: "Breathe" (BREE thuh), verb meaning "to take in air," e.g., I cannot breathe underwater. "Breath" (BREH th), noun. "I cannot catch my breath." The "e" at the end makes a world of difference, both in pronunciation & meaning. And yes, English is stupid language.

They sound familiar yet like nothing you've ever heard before and THAT is a winning combination. 🙂

I actually love the sound of the piano in the Breathe recording. The dissonance gives the song a slightly eerie/sad feel.

I have accepted that is impossible for me to watch this performances without crying😭 Black Holes has been my comfort song through this difficult past years and Pau's performance of Breathe always gets me😭 i love these songs so much💜

Thanks fo a great reaction. Black Holes describes the feelings of addiction from an addicts point of view. It is said that Paulina got the inspiration from watching a documentary. There are some really good older live versions of this as well that are worth watching (by yourself) For Breathe you have now listened to all known recordings of it. The studio version is recorded at their home piano (by Pau herself I believe). As she said in the Pepsi Center, it is very personal to her (details has never been disclosed). It is described by Pau as "A panic attack set to music" or something like that. For me it is impossible to watch the Pepsi Center version without tears. Very emotional.

Hi, I just caught up with your reactions to TW today, I really like your reactions. If you're still thinking about doing a reaction to the band's entire discography after the Pepsi Center, it would be a good idea to first do a reaction to Tidal's mini documentary, Tidal Rising The Warning, it's on UA-cam and lasts 20 minutes, it's the story of the warning narrated by themselves, and how it goes from their beginnings with their instruments to the album error and everything in between, is great and shows you not only how they compose and where their inspiration comes from but also how They are them as people. I know the navy will be watching along with you. It a great song, good balance, maybe a bit to few traditional instruments. A genre where it's very common to sing in a bunch of different languages: opera, because they are all very old songs from different countries/cultures. Lots of Italian and German.

Respecto a lo que crees que le falta a las versiones del disco... ...Wabi sabi. Las voces no son perfectas tipo lo que se escucha hoy día, las voces que realmente son perfectas, son las voces auténticas que transmiten. Yo descubrí a The Warning escuchando la versión que hizo Pau de "Creep". Puede que esa semana la escuchase 100 veces. Su voz allí es PERFECTA, porque es ella. Grabada con el móvil y hasta con silbido de fondo, es el piano y ella con su voz desnuda y sincera. Wabi sabi.

The Warning all play piano, but full piano songs are played and sung by Pau. They are Escape the Mind (title track of the EP, there are two versions on the EP and she played it on the @Liceo concert), Black Holes and Show Me the Light (XXI Century Blood, Live @ Dakota Bar) and Breathe. There are piano parts on Survive (XXICB, Live by Ale on TEDx Talk 2017, Lunario concert and Foro DiDi), The End (from QOTMS, Live by Ale on Lunario and Foro DiDi), Stalker (QOTMS, Live by Dani on Lunario and Foro DiDi), The One (QOTMS, Live on backing tracks) and Apologize (Keep Me Fed). They did a cover of Muse's song Resistance ine the Warning Cave (their home basement studio) where Dany plays piano and there is a video of Pau and Dany doing Dull Knives at their home piano. Apart from that there is a video of Pau playing three songs solo at home, a brilliant cover of Pau doing Radiohead's Creep. In 2023 Pau received an Decididas award and at the ceremony she played Black Holes, Show Me the Light and a cover of Taylor Swift's You're on You Own, Kid. Also there is a video of Pau and Dany in a small venue (with a Q&A afterwards) in Montreal without Ale who was sick, with only keys and guitar. And they did a private show in London just after the Covid lockdown with Pau on piano instead of Drums. And finally there are a few videos of all three playing classical piano before they even started on guitar, drums and bass. And everything is worth watching 😊
