    How about splitting the tracks where you can pull an instrument or the vocal out, and playing or singing it yourself? That would include human involvement of either playing an instrument or singing the song yourself. And giving a higher quality of music file, or files so you can edit them, the instruments, change whatever you don't like or want.

      I've done a whole video response to this. I don't agree and I'm not going to jump on stage and perform on my computer and Suno. I don't want ai music to replace human music either. Kool tune. Can't get a copyright for any of it. You AI'd the whole damn thing. Even the cover art. Had you at least written the lyrics and fed those to the AI to generate the music for the track. Then you could copyright the lyrics portion of the song. You can make money off the track. just can't protect the track with the legal might of copyright. Anyone can use any and all of the track in their works without worries for compensation of any royalties to you. All you can collect is what you directly get setup for revenue streams. No outreach from DistroKid say on to someone's UA-cam channel that posts this track has to worry about real legalities. I'm sure there will be false copyright notices spammed. We can ignore all of it and just wade through the emails like we do now using licensed loop tracks we get hit up for now.

    • @happyfndeplorable1605
      @happyfndeplorable1605 5 днів тому

      No never. Only what is produced by a human. Had he written the lyrics at least, that portion could be copyrighted. He didn't feed the AI the lyrics. Anyone can use his track and he will have no leverage to enforce copyright. Even the cover art can't be claimed. Artist have it worse than musicians when it comes to AI. Write all the lyrics to have any chance for protection and claims. U.S. Copyright Office AI Activities The Office explained that human authorship is required for copyright protection, that it will refuse to register works solely generated by AI, and that any material which is not the product of human authorship must be disclaimed on a registration application.

    A lot of commenters hardly heard any AI songs but they BELIEVE AI music is worthless. That is just so stupid. The quality of AI music is simply depends on how intelligent, unique or funny the prompt is. I have heard shit AI songs and good AI songs as well. I create AI songs under the name GhastlySpectrum856 and I don't think the AI songs I released on UA-cam are shit or worthless products. The extreme hate against AI music comes from the fact that musicians simply feel that anybody can create professionaly sounding songs these days and that is really a threat to the music industry. That is the main reason they hate AI music. Its not the copyright issues they are scared of, its the pure fact that anybody can do it without gatekeepers. But believing that AI music can generate tonnes of money to AI music creators is really a joke. The music industry has been doing all it can to kill real competition. There is absolutely no real competition in the music industry these days because big labels have huge advantages over independent artists. It doesn't really matter whether you're making AI or none AI music because big labels are controlling the music industry and the most important platforms (Spotify, Apple music, UA-cam) are dominated by major label artits. Most independent artists are absolutely ignored by these platforms because they are basically invisible to the users. Most so called "viral hits" are in fact major label productions. You need tons of money to attract listeners but who has that much money? So AI music creators in general do not have any chances of generating money enough to earn a living.

    Albums by the same 'AI artist' are not yet possible. They will have to do a Midjourney and give us the tools to create a consistent sound. Prompting a.i. is not enough to classify it as your own work. Also you cannot collect royalties from a.i. music and what ever you create will be public domain so anyone else can use it. Best place to get your info in this case is the music Attorneys. You clearly used chat gpt for lyrics too so they cannot be Copyright protected either. Ok, already I gotta jump in on the first comment. Setting aside that the dingbat misspells "copyright laws," what this person says is absolute BS. There is absolutely nothing in the US copyRIGHT law that says "unless it's been created by a person." First of all, why TF would the law even be worded this way, when until last year a PERSON was the only way you COULD produce music?! Secondly, the copyright law wording lists, "songwriter, producer, composer, or others." as who can be protected. Further, people are really getting butt hurt over this new era of tools and it's extremely annoying. Suno and Udio are TOOLS. The "producer" (you) still had to enter a prompt and finalize a specific track. AI is what you used to accomplish that. Using AI to generate music is no more excluded from copyright than using Photoshop to create a work of art.

    It think it's funny that anyone thinks they created anything without learning from others works first... Every writer, painter, musician, any craftspersons learned from the art of others AI does the same it's just better at it and most people think it's just stolen their work but even 90% or more of their work is based from what they learned from others.

    Making money from something which is so easily computer synthesised when big tech already have all the money and compute power is free money. You're shitting on yourself if you have the view that you should be able to make money from AI generated music - because it will last for about ten minutes and you'll make about twelve dollars before big tech do it WAY better than you do. It's like that NFT BS who the hell cares about it it's just you're a celebrity and you're already rich therefore you can make millions making an NFT out of some toilet paper in your house. Someone with talent creates a real piece of art and is shat on by an algorithm - it's shitting on human innovation and it's disgusting. This being said - the idea of novelty and that people 'deserve' to be rich for novel ideas will go down the drain faster than a talented person's life after they kill themselves by being replaced by an AI when the singularity happens and people realise that most of the underlying philosophies of modern society are subtle nonsense.

      I promise you that this isn't a 15 word prompt. It might start with an initial 15 word prompt. But I refine it over hours. Then the music to go with the lyrics takes a couple hours after that. In my opinion, it is art. I feel like I have something I want to say in some way, in the end, if I don't feel like enough of that message came from me, I scrap it.

    AI content is pointless garbage, artistically speaking. It's just noise. It's useless non-expression, non-communication, superficial form without substantive meaning. Why should I be bothered to read what no one could be bothered to write? Why should be bothered to listen to the song no one could be bothered to play? Maybe the point here isn't to create art, but merely to create content automatically. Fine, fair enough. But it should NOT be billed as "creativity."

      Going into this, I totally knew that people would feel that way and I understand that. I don't agree though. I spend a lot of time thinking of the sorts of people I want to create for. For sure, I use GPT to help with lyrics. But then I do a hell of a lot of rework to try to really bring home what I'm trying to say. Then, I spend a lot of time going through the music options and filtering out the stuff that doesn't work. I know for sure that a lot of people aren't going to be turned around on this. But except for a couple songs that I put out as an exercise in figuring out the process, I'm pretty proud of what was produced.

So much so that I had an idea that would have pumped out thousands of songs every day with the hope of generating enough to make an income. But I won't do that because that's too far. Other than 2 songs that I did just as a case study to show if I could do it, I only release stuff that I think is good in some way. Time will tell how this all goes. It's such a grey area right now. The legislation was really focused on image creation when it comes to what is considered "yours". But it doesn't limit it to just image creation. It broadly says something like "If no human interaction in your art". But other than this song, I've done things to more than just the lyrics. I've done some audio editing and enhancements. So even though the music is sung by and the instruments are played by ai, there's still a lot of involvement on my part. Spotify and the music publishers don't ask and don't seem to care if ai have a hand in your production. So go ahead and ask for payments. It takes a long time to build up a payment though. Fractions of a cent on every play.

    Someone hasn't been paying attention to copyright laws. You might want to check if you're actually going to cash in on that AI music. I'm working on a project that I'm writing and using AI so I've been keeping a close eye on this. What this guy is suggesting is reckless and could cause problems down the line. He's not the first one to think all he has to do is let the computer write it for him and he can just cash in. But the case I'm referring to was with a piece of visual art that was both AI and human. Top music attorney's channel covered it I think. She's been doing deeper dives into the legal ramifications of AI since there's also a concern as to who this music is using to model itself after.
