Return To Haunted House - Atari 2600 (Very First Playthrough)
The Venture hack version is way, way better and is probably the best home version of Venture, easily beating the Colecovision commercial release and the 7800 homebrew release. If you have the ability to play ROMs on one of your Atari consoles, there is no reason to ever play the original Coleco version ever again.
@@tarstarkusz i really want to play both the 7800 homebrews and Colecovision version of Venture. I also hope to get my hands on Venture Reloaded on the 2600
@@salsatariandretroworld396 I haven't played the 7800 homebrew version, but in the videos it just doesn't look that good. The colecovision version is pretty good and I play it occasionally. But the best version is Venture Reloaded on the 2600.
@@tarstarkusz Venture Reloaded looks amazing. I definitely have an eye out for it. I look forward to doing a video on it
@Kelly ok please relax. The Colecovision version may be the best version but that doesn’t mean everyone is gonna make that version their favorite of the bunch. If someone prefers the 2600 version or any other version of the game, they have a right to. Everyone has their preferences and opinions. If you want to disagree with someone that’s one thing but please do it respectfully and without saying the things you said because it’s flat out disrespectful
In my opinion, it's better. It has more of the animation from the arcade cabinet and all the screens. The Colecovision version is pretty good, but not quite as good as the reloaded hack. The sprites are slightly better on the Colecovision version. I'll grant you that.
Atari space invaders doesn't look too much like the arcade but it plays great and is fun even today
@OldGameFiction 💯 agree definitely doesn't look like the arcade version but it's definitely a great version and I kinda like this version better than the arcade version.
I still have to add E.T. to my collection, it can't be as bad as the legends say. Will you be getting any of the new Atari cart releases on their website?
@OrdoNekro E.T. is definitely not as bad as most say it is. I have a first playthrough of E.T. coming tomorrow. I definitely plan to get the new carts at some point. There are lots of homebrews I want to add to my collection
Hi all, so hectic week. I meant to get out two more videos ( Splatterhouse, Castlevania) but didn’t get a chance I will definitely have those two videos up for you guys next week and possibly a pickups video. My apologies guys. Hope everyone had a great Halloween
The actual 5200 controllers non-centering joystick seems to do well with this version.
Awesome pickup on Two Bad!! We’re keeping an eye out for this guy to get him in our collection. Keep up the great work!
@@MOTUMan29 thanks buddy. I would really like to get the origins Two Bad but since it was a SDCC exclusive doesn't look like that'll be happening
@@salsatariandretroworld396 I hear ya!
I forget about this one all the time. It needs more love. Great video man.
@@TheAtariCreep thanks so much buddy. It's challenging but it's fun. I definitely am planning more playthroughs for spooky season.
You have to admire the creativity that some of these developers had when they had so little to work with
@@vertigov5303 without a doubt my friend. And the funny thing is they have so much more to with for today’s games yet they don’t even deliver masterpieces like these.
Love Super Double Dragon on my Evercade and grew up with the Carnival cartridge, nice finds!
@@kennethlecuyer4767 thanks buddy. Yeah both games are definitely some of my favorites. I want to do a playthrough of both games hopefully soon.
Do you think this is as good as 2600 Astroids?
@@dad7275 Actually I think Asteroids on the 2600 is the best version with the 7800 a close second. But the 5200 version is still a pretty solid version and fun to play
Never tried it but seems interesting.
@Dad7275 it's a great game. I highly recommend this. Really good game for any SNES collection
Nice haul. 7800 Astroids is great. I picked up a controller almost just like that too off Ebay biggest difference is mine has a little thumb stick that screws in and out.
@@dad7275 Thanks buddy. This is definitely one of the best versions of Asteroids. $55 bucks for a brand new copy wasn’t bad. I just tried out the new controller on both my 7800 and 2600 and it plays great. Oh nice. Which controller has the thumb stick? I’ll have to check on eBay and see which one it is.
Its a good looking version of Breakout. To bad the 5200 doesn't have paddles..or does it?
@@dad7275 that’s a very good question. I never owned a 5200 so I don’t know if the system has paddles like the 2600 does. I was actually playing this on the Atari Flashbacks for the Switch and it has quite a few 5200 games
@@salsatariandretroworld396 i actually own a 5200 (two port) and this very game.
@@dad7275 nice. Not too long ago my local retro game store got a trade in for an Atari 5200. But of course had to wait until I got paid. Then when I went back it was gone lol
The graphics are a touch better on the intellivision, but the sound effects are exactly the same.
@@vertigov5303 oh I totally agree. I did a playthrough of Frog Bog a while back and no doubt the Intellivision graphics are definitely better. But overall both games are fun.
This one is super tough, but a lot of fun. Arguably LJNs best.
@@vertigov5303 I 💯 agree. It’s one of the best superhero games made but it’s definitely very challenging. I never made it past stage 2 lol
MS. PCA-MAN!!! Born in Boston! Great grabs man.
@@TheAtariCreep thanks my friend. Again my apologies for the late upload. It’s funny I still can’t get over that I got Pitfall 2 for only $20 bucks.
When is this from?
@@tarstarkusz so this is a Vectrex game. Vectrex came out in 1982. I don't own a Vectrex but this is from the Vectrex app
@@salsatariandretroworld396 I know it is vectrex, but it's not one of the original games. I thought you might know when this particular game was released. The vectrex has a very long homebrew scene. John Dondzilla released his first vectrex homebrew back in the mid 90s.
@@tarstarkusz ahh ok I didn't know that wasn't an original game. I like the Vectrex but I know little about it. Thanks so much for letting me know that
That Mer-Man voice was on point!
@@jeremytheloner thanks buddy. Yeah I think I was off with his gurgling sound. Thanks for watching my friend it's greatly appreciated
Hi all. Again my apologies for the limited commentary. I deal with really bad allergies and sometimes it knocks the shit out of me lol. I hate allergies but what can I do lol. Thanks so much for supporting my channel and watching my videos all.
Awesome action figure collection ❤😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😇😎😱🙏👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
@@markheadley125 thanks so much my friend. Yeah these figures can be really tough to find sometimes lol
Classic games like this don't age. Also how are you playing this?
@@BladeGirl92 There is so much nostalgia with amazing games like this. So I'm playing this on the Switch on the Arcade Archives
So lovely - thanks for the great review! This is a great addition to the cartoon collection!
@@MOTUMan29 thanks so much for watching buddy. More MOTU figures videos are coming my friend.
Had this one when I was a kid. In my top 10 for sure.
@TheAtariCreep this is one of my favorites as well. I brought Dark Cavern a week prior to Astroblast and I can't put either of these games down. Both in my top 10.
Hold on to it for its value.
@Bladegirl92 oh I'm definitely keeping it
Hey my friends. My apologies for not having commentary during these last two uploads. My throat is bothering me a bit from allergies but I still wanted to get a couple videos up. I’ll be back next week with more videos and with commentary like I always do. Again thank you for supporting this channel and again my apologies.
Nice, bro. Sky Diver is fun.
@@TheAtariCreep Thanks my friend. I played Sky Diver once years ago. I got it for $2 bucks at my local retro game store lol
Awesome action figure toys collection ❤❤❤❤❤😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@MarkHeadley125 thanks my friend and thanks for subbing its greatly appreciated. I gave you a sub back
Yeah❤
@PatrickPapas thanks my friend. Lots more MOTU figures unboxings coming
@@salsatariandretroworld396 welcome bro
What the heck is a grown man doing playing with action figures?
@tarstarkusz yeah I know I'm a kid at heart I know lol. Been a huge Masters Of The Universe fan since I was a kid. Atari/NES and Masters Of The Universe were my childhood. Such nostalgia
I don't think I ever seen this version of Space Invaders before.
@@BladeGirl92 it’s funny I didn’t even know there was a PS1 version of Space Invaders until I saw it at my local retro game store. Only $5 bucks so why not
Laser Blast is one of my faves.
@@SoulforSale it’s one of my favorites too my friend. My opinion one of Activision’s best games.
They should make this as an arcade machine complete with a color vector monitor.
@@tarstarkusz that would be awesome if they did that
Nice video, and great review Sal! Will be including a recommendation, and a link to your video on my channel's review video Sunday.
@BMK Retro Gaming thanks so much buddy. My apologies if I haven’t been around things have been crazy busy but I will be doing a new video soon. I’ll check out your new video my friend,
@@salsatariandretroworld396 you're welcome!
very good 👍
Cool game!
Looks cool!
@Oldman YT Gamer - Fortnite Movies and Cinema it’s a fun game. A bit challenging but once you get the hang of it, it’s really fun. I plan on a second playthrough of this soon
Cool. Was this on the Switch?
@Oldman YT Gamer - Fortnite Movies and Cinema, yeah this one I played on the Switch. It’s part of the NES library on the Switch Online service.
Cool game. So, how do you control the slider and shoot at the same time?
@Oldman YT Gamer - Fortnite Movies and Cinema, so this game is used with the paddle controller. To be honest it’s not easy to use both the slider and guns to shoot the cobra. My guess would be to probably play this game with a second player. The shooting style of the game reminds me a lot of Atlantis as you shoot in more than one direction.
Sal! Glad you're back! That's a cool game. How do you play and hold the camera at the same time? That's real talent.
@Oldman YT Gamer - Fortnite Movies and Cinema thanks my friend I really appreciate that. Berserk is one of my all time favorites. That’s a very good question I wonder that myself actually. I’ll admit it’s not easy. I really need to get a stand to put the camera on lol.
Nice pickups.
@Atari2600Dude thanks buddy appreciate it 👍👍
I never played any of these games.
@BladeGirl92 yeah these games came out in the early 80s. I remember not playing these until around 85 or 86. The glory days of gaming lol
Cool 😀
@Pure Retro Games thanks my friend and thanks for subbing I really appreciate it buddy. 👍👍
This is a pretty decent game but you are playing it wrong. Not only do you have to protect the men down the bottom you have to shoot the cobra in the head. Also you have to use paddles not the joystick.
@Atari2600Dude Thanks for letting me know this I really appreciate it. I actually realized after I uploaded the video, I totally forgot to shoot the cobra. Also thanks for letting me know it’s the paddles that need to be used. Unfortunately both my paddle and ranger controllers broke so I’ll be heading to my local retro game store and see if I could pick up another one. Thanks again my friend. Appreciate your support 👍👍
Nothing beats old school games.
@BladeGirl92 i second that
Game 1 is a 2 player game. Game 2 is a 1 player game against the CPU in the right controller port.
@Atari2600Dude ahh ok I didn’t know that. I’ll remember game 2 when I do a second playthrough down the road. Thanks for letting me know this I really appreciate it. 👍👍
Nice pickups. That telegames 50 cart is video olympics.
@Atari Girl 72, thanks so much. Oh ok thanks for letting me know which game it was. It’s funny I always get confused with what the game is with the 50 Tele Games.
Hi all. I’m back and ready to make this channel the best it can be again. Again my deepest apologies for being MIA so long. Like I mentioned in the video, life got in the way, plus I didn’t feel like I was doing enough to make the channel as great as it could be so I needed a bit of a break. But now I’m back and ready to do awesome things with this channel. Lots coming my friends, stay tuned. 🙂👍
This is definitely not a one life game. Arcade style games need more than 1 life and with the opportunity to get extras. That is the point of an arcade game. You want to extend the time you can play on one quarter and get a high score/make it to the next level. This game would get so repetitive so fast from having to start over every time you get killed.
That's intense!
Thanks buddy. I still have yet to download Asteroids and Black Widow Recharged. Atari did an amazing job with these remakes.
Good job!
Thanks my friend 👍👍
