These two seem to fill the whole stadium with excitement and joy! Also, at 2:54, I'm convinced that chestnut was planning on clearing the whole darn pool!! It fills me with ecstasy to see such a confident horse loving his work so much <3
There's actually this really crazy thing about horse's eyes: their pupils rotate to stay parallel to the ground. One of those things you pick up in studying them for 20+ years and drawing them for 15. The horizontal pupils allow them a wider field of vision to scan for predators while eating and moving around. However, it makes seeing things approaching from the front a little difficult. Not impossible, but difficult, which is why jumping is such an incredible sport. The horse trusts the rider to give the right signals and timing, and the rider trusts the horse to provide the correct amount of lift. Now, when a horse wants to get a better look at something approaching them directly in front (such as a fence) they lift their heads to guage distance/height of the object and speed of the approach. A trained jumper will look for the top rail. Watch well-matched and trained rider/horse pairs, and you'll see it. Their head will pop up for a second (with the nose pointing almost perfectly to the top of the jump), and then drop to get the power needed to clear. It's one of the reasons the rails are painted the way they are. If you were to put a brown rail up, the horse wouldn't be able to see it, and would wind up going through the fence. Yes, there are some horses that are fighting the rider, but those horses have multiple indicators other than a raised head. A poor rider is one who refuses to allow the horse to lift their head if they need to, and is a danger to the horse and themselves. If the horse cannot see, they cannot guage and are less likely to clear the jump, leading to accidents and injury.
That was one of the longest most grueling courses I have ever seen.. Horse was unbelievable and rider did a great job piloting that very talented horse around ...bravo to both !
They are amazing together! The bond between its horse and rider, Is just unbreakable. Once You Earn A horses trust, nearly anything is possible. “Promise Not To Fall” Search And Watch This, It’s Basically showing everything I say. 🙂
Truely amazing. Im starting horse riding and dressage soon. This is one of those million dollar horses with spring for legs. I can hardly imagine how the owner are going to feel/how they felt when the horse dies/died... excellent training!
and here we are again, a horse suffering all the time, desperatly trying to have more space for his neck and head before jumping, put under high pressure only for rider's ego. Equestrian competitions are a terrible world, no matter so-called riders hate to hear that, of course rodeo is the worst, just followed by horse races, but all those competitions are stupid and cruel. Just learn to LOOK at what happens, you'll see the suffering. Close up pictures of jumping horses show perfectly their head and mouth, and they speak loud......
omg the comments are unbelievable! ! if you dont know about show jumpers...hunters...or horses in general than you really shouldn't make nasty comments that you know nothing about....geez
Holy Crap! That is bigger, harder, better than any Olymic jumping course! That really is hard core jumping. Loved watching this clip with such extraordinary talent, both horse and rider! Yes, not many people can afford the money or the time to get to such a high level, but it still needs natural talent to start with, to get this good!!! Just a pity about the poor quality of the filming itself.
That horse clearly loves to jump, but to me it seems like his reins are a bit short, You can almost hear the horse screaming "let me fly!". I would say a little more head room. But other then that this is an amazing horse and rider
Call this hardcore, have you seen the Hickstead Derby? Check out Nick Skelton on Apollo 1990 - a rare clear round, although it’s more fun to watch Ryan’s Son in 1986 - 18 years old, he was still bucking and kicking like a colt. Of course there are more modern rounds to watch.
gli fai saltare un metro, il cavallo, ne salta tre se gli fai
You have to wonder what toll this takes on the horse's body.
Wow that is one tough course!!
This looks more like cross country than show jumping. Quite a challenge
Wow, that looked like a torturous course, and a supremely ridden one as well!!!😮
These two seem to fill the whole stadium with excitement and joy! Also, at 2:54, I'm convinced that chestnut was planning on clearing the whole darn pool!! It fills me with ecstasy to see such a confident horse loving his work so much <3
What a course! Horse is wondering" will this ever end? " 😨Great job by both!
Handful of a horse too. We call that pig rooting.
is that bad for their knees in old age?
What a horse! It's flying!
yes. Amazing
That poor horse was screaming for more reign as the hurdles approached

Why do you feel it is necessary to apologise for the announcements being in French at a French event?
this reminds me of my horse ngl
I think the horse knows what cheering is and that they're doing it for him. XD It probably makes him go more. XD
My horse: *tries to kill me while jumping less then a meter* That horse:
That horse is the happiest horse I've ever seen in my life.

That was a sharp corner though..
He took the triple really well and was balanced in to the water.
Truely amazing. Im starting horse riding and dressage soon. This is one of those million dollar horses with spring for legs. I can hardly imagine how the owner are going to feel/how they felt when the horse dies/died... excellent training!
It's like a mix of cross country and show jumping! Very creative! And the horse and rider did a great job!
I don't see why this is 'unreal'. Just professional level, really.
This make my jumping pathetic
Omg! #HorseAbuse Who agrees!?!
yea i got lost by the 3rd jump. remembering this course mustve been like remembering history dates lmao
if this is a mare I want its foal, if this is a stallion I want to breed it, if this is a gelding I want to buy it. XD

This is so bad for the horse.
this is absolutely horrible you can tell the horse doesn't like it by its body language!!!
I love the Derby courses! The horse sure likes this type of course the way he kept kicking up his heels in happiness. Good horse...good rider!
Holy Crap! That is bigger, harder, better than any Olymic jumping course! That really is hard core jumping. Loved watching this clip with such extraordinary talent, both horse and rider! Grueling course - impeccably ridden
That looked very difficult and very straining. The horse did very well
A course and a half - where & when?
That horse clearly loves to jump, but to me it seems like his reins are a bit short, You can almost hear the horse screaming "let me fly!". I would say a little more head room. But other then that this is an amazing horse and rider

you can tell that the horse enjoys it
He has a brilliant seat
