Those barriers aren't to keep cars from hitting bicycles it is there to keep bicyclist in their lane. I see so many cyclists do stupid things, I am surprised more arent hit.

I simply don’t trust people not to right hook me. Had way too many close calls. People see you they just choose to ignore. I live in Chicago too.

Boring

A lot of times if you see a car like that it is a temporary storage spot that the city wreckers parked after an overnight accident on Lake Shore Drive and will be moved within 48 hours. I've lived in the area for over 40 years and see them from time to time. The city will tow and impound the car if it is not moved by the owner.

i grew up at 1116 Hermatage Im glad St Boniface hasent been torn down . was baptized there 1966 .

Need dedicated bike lanes all around Chicago. Separated by some barrier. People would ride more. Wouldn't be against an elevated bike lanes throughout Chicago
