A Brief Look At Veloflex's Record Open Tubulars 4K
Taking a look at Veloflex's new(er) Record "open tubulars". You'll get my quick thoughts, the differences between the older and faster slick tread vs the newer slower textured tread, and see how difficult or not they are to mount up on three different wheels.
These are the fastest tires out there, but they are fragile. Also, Veloflex decided to make a running change which slowed them down a bit. Nevertheless, these are great tires if you do Time Trials or Triathlon, even if they are a bit on the fragile side.

In this video I go over how to use the CdaCrr App, the bits you need to go along with it to get good data, and do some ABBA Testing. Some notes: -don't adjust the CF during your runs or between the runs. Use the value you get on the first run. -the more laps you do the better your # will be. i.e. the mean gets closer to reality the more runs you do. -You can use defined lap with an input distan...

    This is my second Keurig Coffee Brewer. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first one lasted 6 years. It worked beautifully until the day it didn't. It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.

      @lai2703 Рік тому

      @@Robdutton91 in my experience the scale breaks off and clogs the line, but doesn't "trap" the line. however, the rubber o-ring on the brass end does tend to be tricky to dislodge and reinsert. once the retention clip is out you can try a pocket screwdriver in that slot ad try to nudge the brass bit to break loose. only need a little bit of movement. If that doesn't work, you could also try pulling the other end of the line and then spinning the line in clockwise or counterclockwise directions to see if that o-ring will break it's seal. the longer rubber sits the less likely it wants to come out. The line closest to the grinder is almost always the one I have scale in. concentrate on that one.

    Hi, thanks for the video. When i turn on my 870XL, the power-on noise is not buzzing anymore. None of actions work. No coffee brewed, no steam, no hot water. What could be failure? So the solenoid is fairly new.

      yeah, that's the first place I look. my issues were the noise and the pump didn't move any water. With the back off looking at the boiler the line to your right on the lower part of the boiler that goes to the end of the solenoid block (also your right) is the one I always fine scale in. usually, just at the boiler side as the tubes are too small to pass the scale. look inside the boiler as well.

Not a tire I would set out on a 100 mile ride on or go using on bad roads, but they seem to be more robust than their construction would imply. Full disclosure i'm around 175lbs all in (bike, water, kit, and me) and the roads I stick to have almost perfect pavement with only some sections I would consider questionable for paper thin tires.

    Thanks man for this video.i have the same wheel. It rides superbly but it's a nightmare trying to change tyre.. I've tried four different levers. I managed once to get the lever under the bead but the pressure was so great that I was afraid to force it in case of possible damage to the rim of the wheel. But having seen your video maybe I really need to just force it as hard as I can? Any tips would be much appreciated because it's doing my head in.

    • @lai2703
      @lai2703 2 роки тому

      The wheel is a lot stronger than you might think. It should also be said that tubeless tires will be much harder to mount than normal clinchers and likely slower too. I mounted up some veloflex records last spring and they went on much, much easier than vittoria corsa speeds. The records are much faster too, but beware that they are paper thin. I've ridden them about a dozen times or so and they still look new. That's likely only around 350-450 miles, but i've had good luck with them. In one of the previous comments someone mentioned using soap. I haven't done that yet, but I might grab a bar of soap and rub it on the rim before swapping on a new tire. Lastly, I recall my conti-supersonic going on easier than the corsa speeds as well. Could just be the tire you're using. Good luck!! ETA: make sure the bead of the tire is fully in the channel all the way around the rim especially opposite of the part of the bead you're trying to get over. And I think I said it in the video but if I didn't start 180º from the valve stem so the bead can drop all the way into the channel and not be hindered by the valve. This technique also prevents pinch-flats when running tubes. i.e. you should be ending at the valve stem side of the wheel.

      Did you check for bits of scale in the boiler and it's lines? This should be a first check for poor to no pressure/flow. The one that seems to be the constant culprit for me is the lower connection at the boiler closest to the grinder. That sucks that you had to bin it, but I would suggest pulling it out and checking that line if you hadn't already. Also, might want to get a light and shine it into the boiler to ensure there is nothing further upstream blocking flow.

    Found your video while trying to figure out why our Seal Shower Head keeps dislodging about 1/2 to 3/4 through a shot being pulled. Water comes down and out over the portafilter making for a very watery espresso shot. We can really only pull a semi-decent shot if we barely tamp down on the espresso - but it always stays in the pre infusion state. This machine is barely 2 to 2 1/2 years old? Any idea why the seal shower head/steam ring would dislodge while pulling a shot?

    • @lai2703
      @lai2703 2 роки тому

      Apologies for the delayed response. If I am understanding your situation correctly the seal itself might be damaged. On a machine that young I wouldn't think that is the case, but it fits the description. You can find a replacement seal on Amazon but they are finicky to install and may lead to the basket getting slightly stuck after pulling a shot. At least the one I purchased and installed causes this to happen. Good luck!

    I have the #Veloflex ProTour 23mm on my 60mm tri-spokes and freakin LOVE THEM!!! Waynos Fotos aussie youtuber clued me in to this brand. An expat living here in N.E. Italy 🇮🇹 and have been seriously riding here for 4yrs now. The roads here are mostly smooth but are narrow w/crushed marble in the asphalt…so tire compound is CRUCIAL when it gets fast and twisty! I did a custom build up of a Felt B2, Specialized aero fly v.1 bars, Selle Italia SP-01 seat, Campangolo Veloce 10spd 52/34 13/29, mechanical, rim brakes. Very light at 7.2kg fully assembled without water bottles. Love ❤️ it!!!

      Veloflex make some damn fine tires. Glad you're liking them. These have proven to not be as fragile as they appear....at least not for me.

    I don't have the same problem but I thought someone might know. Our machine won't turn off when plugged in. Nothing happens when pressing any of the buttons but all of the lights are on...even the ones that shouldn't be. The grinder, steam wand, group head and hot water is not working. Any thoughts on what the problem would be?
