I’m so glad you got some good information from it. Always good to hear!
Nice informative video! I recently tried using sockets for the rear and ended up spending hours trying to get the drawer to close properly. This will be my method in the future. It just seems a lot quicker and easier. Thank You for posting!
While the wide belt sander is an excellent machine, but they are very costly to purchase. A stroke sander can be used to accomplish the same thing, and is far less expensive. The difference is that the wide belt sander can be used by less experienced people once it is set up.
True enough! I wish I could afford one for my home shop. That’s why I tell all my students to “be nice to the sander, love the sander, never be angry with the sander”. It’s an irreplaceable machine for my classes.

Excellent presentation, absolutely excellent. I saved all the presentations by this fellow. EXCELLENT
Your response most appreciated. I’m glad you enjoy the content. More will come year to year!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this 15 video playlist. Better than Netflix! I wish I could be a student in your class.
Thank you so much. Nothing else makes a teacher feel better than a student who enjoys what they’re being taught.
As a retired teacher learning woodworking, I completely understand. I appreciate the work you have done to make these videos available to the public. Your channel deserves to be more visible.@@roughcutwoodworkingsandinw2947
Thank you so very much you answered a bunch of my questions. I was replacing the hardware on 64 year old custom cabinets. This was not fun, no room to work.
Run it through straight without raising the table then maybe a pass only raising it a hair
Pls advise detail, like price weher we have to get this if need to buy
Great video, thank you for taking the time to explain some of these things.
thanks, missed my instructors lesson because i got covid, big help that this is posted!
Does the placement of the drawer slides matter if your drawer fronts are inset or flush with the frame?
Absolutely. If you want an inset drawer front you’ll need to push it back the thickness of the front (usually 3/4”).
@@roughcutwoodworkingsandinw2947 thank you Sir! Appreciate it
How to buy the wild belt Sanders and rate of the machine
As an employee of a school district in Utah I don't have a lot of say over what they decide to purchase for my shop. That being said, I've used a number of other brands of sanders and really like the Powermatic. It is easy to use, easy to change belts, and fairly simple to tweak for getting a perfect, level surface. To get them you'll just need to go to an outlet store. Here, we have Timberline woodworking, Wurth Louis and Co, and one or two other outlets but you can simply buy them online from places like "woodworker.com" or "grizzly" or "rockler.com". Hope this helps
Great video. I was wondering how to install those sliders and why are there a piece of wood in there for. Now it all make sense
Glad I could help. I’m always amazed that so many of the “how to” videos don’t address so many of the small things that people just don’t know. How will we know if you don’t explain the “why”? Thanks again
7:33 ???????!!!
I have been trolling through so many drawer videos and this one is one of the most useful and informative I've found---thank you!
I’m so happy to hear that. I’ve seen lots of “how to” videos as well and decided that making my own I’d need to make it very VERY thorough so my students could understand. I’m glad they have been able to help you as well.
Your videos are a blessing Mr.E
THANK YOU FOR A MARVELOUS SERIES AND CHANNEL.
I am so happy you find it helpful. You're certainly welcome!
I’m glad you found it useful! Not many people have an UpCut saw in their shop.
This series has been informational and easy to follow, thank you! Love the little song at 6:23 as well
Thank you so much! I'll do my best to keep up with interesting music as well! ;)
Some great lessons for those who want to get into wide belt sanding 👍
I think this video is my most watched of any I've made so far. Apparently a lot of people need to know this. Who da thunk?
Best vid series on youtube, I thank you. What type of glue do you use?
Titebond 2
Good demo man. Like it. Cheers,
Why not show the other half of the installation? Installing the other half to the drawer itself, and show how to insert the drawer etc. for the first timers.
Coming your way!
Reed-Custer kids are starvin rn
Thanks
❤️❤️.
Timber mate is the best.
Good video, perfect sequence ‘cause you have to be fast. I’ll try it, do not have a clamp box but regular ones have to do the job.
I hope your project worked out for you. I'm very fortunate to have this marvelous equipment but there are always other ways to get it done.
Thanks you for your tools.
Glad you like them!
Thank you finally a zero bullshit straight forward video for working with Aspire. Appericiate it
I felt the same way after I watched the available videos online. I just couldn't submit my students to all of that so I decided to make my own.
Ye software Kaha sy mily ga
The place I work purchased a wide belt sander and it came with a 3phase connection, unfortunately after connecting all 3 phases it doesn’t come up, we reached out to the supplier and we were told it’s a phase error and we should switch the wires, we have done all possible combinations during connection, yet it won’t come up. The voltage regulator on the control panel comes on but the power doesn’t come on, do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks in anticipation
Unfortunately I am not the one that installed the unit. However, I have the information for the man that did. He comes in the shop anytime we have machinery problems. He is the BEST at what he does. Text him: Rob--801-707-7258 Tell him Sandon sent you.
thank you for this! I have a silhouette and when I try to outline it and turn it in to the vector some of the lines are off. for eg a straight line has has jags in it. how do i fix it?
Usually I can simply "ungroup" the image and delete unwanted lines and move the others and use the "join with smooth line" to get things joined back together.
Then I would contact Vetric directly since they are in charge of them. Remember they are based out of England so the time change will limit when you can talk to them but I’ve always had good luck with email.
Hi, great video!. You really do know how to explain yourself. I got a question. I´ve been working with aspire since lasth month, but I don´t have the cliparts activate, how can I do to get them? Thank you
If you haven’t been able to download them yet you’ll need to log into your Vetric account. Vetric produces Aspire and when you purchase the software you have the ability to go to the downloads section and download numerous folders full of clip art. If you have been able to download the clip art but it’s not showing up in your aspire, that is a whole different discussion. It’s not hard to do but it’s got multiple steps.
I´ve seen a few tutorials about how to download the cliparts, but when I do exactly the same, I just wasn´t able to succed. I just can not download them.
Which firm is your press for the cabinets?
40 psi but you can increase it if it’s not closing the gap. Too much glue will do that sometimes.
This whole time I thought everyone was using a wide belt sander rather than a planer. I was so confused how everyone was affording these 10k industrial machines lmao
Thanks Nice and clear , Good job!
Can I get a similar result to using a router on my drawer fronts? I don't have a shaper, but thought this would still work.
Of course! If you’re good with holding the router it works great or fashion your own shaper by attaching your router under a table with a hole for the bit to stick through.
Thank you for sharing it. It is little bit hard to understand inches😂
We Americans never seem to catch on that metric is easier to use. We're a very stubborn lot. Thanks for watching!
Sandon, I love you videos! This is the best woodworking series on UA-cam. Question: You used 1/2" on the drawers and a 3/4" front with 1 1/4" screws, are they short enough not to show, some bump, on the face?
I'm actually using a 1 1/8" drawer front screw. If I said 1 14"...oops. I've learned the hard way that it'll poke through or at least leave the outward dent your mentioned in your comment. And thanks for watching. I'll have a ton more videos done over the summer time.
Hi, great video thanks for sharing. I recently starting experimenting with the free clip art in vcarve and I am having a problem with z height. The cutter sometimes cuts areas it shouldn’t as it looks as if the z height is too low. Have you had this problem? I haven’t changed any setting in the Gcodes. T Many thanks
I have not had that problem. Your symptoms sound like a software issue that you'll either need to contact Legacy about or Vetric (they are in England so you'd better email). Best of luck
Sandon Ellefson cheers
I'm assuming this safe is fireproof? 😉 Jk but this looks awesome. Great design.
I have see that it need air from a compressor with 75 to 80 psi. Ok fine but how much cfm does it need?
You'll need a screw compressor, i have a Boge CL7 that does about 25cfm and that manages fine along with the rest of the workshop, a steady air supply is absolutely necessary and a normal piston compressor won't hack it
Looking good San!
This is excellent! I will be a regular here!
Thank you! I plan to make more each summer between classes. Stay tuned!
Thanks
thanks
Thanks for the info, What is the name / type of router bit used to make the fronts? This is the style I need to match my kitchen and want to make them myself.
I use a Roman Ogee. It’s a pretty common one to find however we use a very shallow cut because if we use it on a door edge, I don’t want the holes for hinges to bore through later.
It's called a Roman Ogee. The hard part is that you'll need to find an Ogee that is very shallow so the door hinges won't poke through them. It's a bit harder to find but many cabinet shops should still use them.
