First, Moller has to show that the Skycar can take off from Point A, then go to and land at Point B. All of the demonstrations have been a vertical take off and land while being tethered.

Great video, never heard of this. They (not Ford) also tried a nuclear powered merchant ship, NS Savannah. It was also not really a success, but it was strikingly beautiful. In fact, it still is, she's now a museum ship in Baltimore.

Regarding the multiple detachable front sections of the Seattle-ite: just get a compatible connector (or maybe better 'dock') installed in your garage, and power your whole house from the variant you aren't currently using - 'Power to grid' from EVs, eat your heart out 😄... (But still, it's probably a good thing that concept really got nowhere...)

I showed the then president of Engineers Australia , Martin Cole, the data on the Lippisch aerodynes which Moller copied and that it could not work UNLESS the ducts could tilt. Cole, who had promoted the thing here then advised Moller and soon after the 'Skycar' had tilting ducts (google for the images of it prior to this) Moller walked off stage in 1998 at SAE Costa Mesa future transport confrrence rather than face questions. Deluded and a scam.

Rode the Turbo in regular service, hard riding, bouncy, loud, deafening roar when accelerating, electrics could outperform in lower speeds. Great view in the dome.

Turns out the secret to high speed rail isn't the fancy trains, it's the tracks... You can run pretty mediocre trains at pretty decent speeds as long as the track conditions are great... Otherwise it won't matter how cool the train is, the ride will suck and performance will be terrible... I think the solution has been found by Brightline West with its LA to LV train project... Build it entirely in free, government-owned Interstate highway medians to save cost and legal issues even if it means taking corners/bends slower than traditional high speed rail... You can still get viable higher speed service of around 125 mph/200 kmh with almost all of the benefits of true HSR without the cost or insane engineering issues of said service like you do at 220 MPH like the nearby California HSR is trying to do but will never be finished at its current financing/construction pace...

Focus was only one problem for the N-1 program 10:02 A bigger problem was the chronic under-funding of this program by Soviet leadership. They were trying to do a lot on what can be seen now as a shoestring budget. Had the program been properly funded, they could have performed more rigorous testing which would have teased out issues such as the vibration ruptures of the fuel lines as mentioned here, which dogged this system until the end.

While I appreciate the additional photos, this is just a read straight from Wikipedia. Also, no need to paused the dialog for every slide transition. This could have been an 8 minute video if you cut all the awkward pauses.

When it comes to editing, less is more. Three minute intro and 1.5 minute outro! The video only used about a third of the screen to make room for your 'fancy' frame. Aviation enthusiasts like to hear aircraft noises rather than annoying music which was also drowning out/distracting from the narration.

I still use it. As the cassette cartridge case has deteriorated, the tape has become tight and slow when rewinding or fast forwarding, so I was able to rewind faster by slightly loosening all the screws on the cassette. The reel rubber belt is round and uses the same new one. I used it as an O-ring repair packing with an inner diameter of 39.7mm and a width of 3.5mm. I think this VCR is great.

I was very little when these trains ran in Canada. We called it the Ladybug Train, because its red nose looked like a ladybug. We rode it once, to Montreal. Most of the tracks are owned by freight railways, so freight trains take priority over the passenger trains that lease the right to use them. The vast networks of dedicated passenger railways throughout Europe and Asia are the way things should be, but never will be, in North America.
