A very convincing example of mixing boogie woogie with bebop and showmanship at a time when music in general was very experimental! Neither Francis nor Jones were bop musicians, but they deliver impeccable performances in that style. Five wonderful musicians!

Was this the one I missed on TCM last night? I love everything about cab Calloway, dancing, singing, conducting , I wish they would have more on TV, like TCM which I suppose is the only place so thank you so much for sharing love love it! I found one there recently of Louis Prima from the 30s I could not believe it, as I had seen him live in the early 60s and didn't know these old films existed
