Why didn't she change the soiled diaper and soiled clothing?
Thank you so much. I will be speaking with a friend tomorrow who is very close to leaving.
In the real world the bed occupant is not able to move and in this scenario even an 80 lb person creates a challenge. Also your video doesn’t show how to change the soiled clothing and clean the individual. Sorry video not helpful because nothing is ever this idealistic except a clinical setting for learning
Exactly. I am currently a caregiver for a elderly gentleman that weighs about 300 pounds...and can hardly move his body...and is bed bound with pain on his right ribcage from a previous fall ...and he takes his pain meds an evening prior to my 6:00 a.m visit with him...and really a struggle to change his bed.
I can roll my dad onto his right side with no problem, but for some reason, rolling him onto his left side is impossible. I tell him, "roll like a pencil, not a banana."
Helpful.........
Talking to a loved one who is dying... That's nothing new, I've done that so many times.
Thank you

This video will be so important in the days of #Covid19 Thank you!
So no need to draw sheet and flat sheet🤔 and no need to change the blanket and pillow case? I'm studying the caregiver but when I watching the video's procedure's has different...
great... thanks for the tips
Great demonstration 💯
I appreciate this video and the concerned comments as a caregiver of a family member without experience or assistance. I want to assist my family member and this video as well as the comments regarding completing this tasks are helpful.
Thank you
Im 47 and suffer with chronic pelvic pain syndrome prostatitis and chronic lower back pain! They have give me oramorph but im scared of having to take it for years. It's either take the oramorph or be in my bedroom in pain not leaving the house. So I'm stuck between the devil and deep blue sea. My family don't want me on oramorph but they are not in my pain every single day!😞
I feel for you bro
So take it only when absolutely necessary, if u don't take it everyday & just take it once or twice a month , u will never become physically dependent , even once or twice a week, ull still not get dependent, if u take it everyday, u will become dependent very quickly, within 4 days
not once did she change her gloves nor perform hand hygiene after discarding soiled linens and continued to touch clean.
Thank you for your comment. We agree that any clinician caring for a patient should change gloves as you described. Family caregivers were the original intended audience of this video, so we wanted to show task completion in the least steps possible to make it less complicated.
Casey Moreau i cant believe that so many people are this stupid and cant notice this is an educational video
Really useful
As what my CI taught us first yr students, Don't let the patient exposed if adult because adults are sensitive to cold environment . 😂😅
Shouldn't the pillow be under the patients head?! She can have discomfort in her neck while you continue bed change.
Hi Natalie-Yes, each patient should be managed appropriately based on assessment of their physical abilities and level of consciousness. In this case, our patient was quite able to manage the positioning of her head. Positioning the head correctly and providing the necessary support is an important piece of this process- thanks for pointing it out!
I like Agrace, wonderful people.
