It is not the 'world' which opposes 'scriptural literalist' Christians: it is also Christians like me, and thousands of others. Unlike Islam, Christianity should be good for humanity as a whole (after all, our Creator is responbsible for the lot!): but far too many churchgoers treat, and read, our scriptures in exactly the same was that the devout Muslim does his Koran. There is no difference: other than in the scripture being read! The fruits always lead to the judging of other human beings: by people who are - themselves - not worthy to judge (according to Jesus of Nazareth). Scriptural literalists also end up holding an unfortunate, blasphemous, attitude to scripture, which is tantamount to 'worship', in place of the Creator those scriptures were inteded to reveal.
