Jazakumullahu khairan to Ustadh Umar for explaining the principle allowing ppl to combine prayers due to hardship. There is another matter though and that is the difference of opinion on the definition of Ishaa prayer. So Abu Hanifah considers Ishaa to begin when the whiteness disappears from the night sky. This doesn't occur in the summer months as Ustadh Umar has pointed out. However, the other schools of thought and the other imams consider Ishaa to begin when the redness disappears from the night sky due to the hadeeth where Jibreel (AS) led the Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam in prayer. There are brothers in High Wycombe who observed that the redness does disappear and their timetable is found on their website. For Londoners, we adjust the Ishaa timings accordingly but it appears that Ishaa comes in a maximum of 1 hour 40 mins after Maghrib. This means around 2300 hours is the time ishaa would come in. Having said all that, the rule for combining comes into play if it is difficult to wait until that time for the individual as Ustadh Umar has also pointed out in the video. We ask Allah to make our matters easy for all of us.
To be honest the main point I wished to make was the permissibility of combining salah (not the matter of the summer months) As a convert to Islam this matter was lacking in my early Islamic education and would've been a source of great ease both physically and emotionally. So many Muslims in the west struggle to perform their 5 daily prayers when it doesn't need to be like that. The Prophet (s) said whoever is given a responsibility and makes things easy for the people Allah will make easy for them and whoever makes things hard Allah will make it hard for them. Sahih. He (s) also said: Islam is a religion of ease. Sahih. I hope my video provided comfort for those who are struggling. SubhanAllah
