hey I would really like to see that video of how to make your own afx tires. So if you can I would really enjoy that . thanks.
Great video John! Where did you get the clear container for your call button please?
can the track contact points be the problem, it seems like my cars run well on certain sections
Great video. And a really cool track. Thanks.
Nice, a couple of questions for you. So the red, white 24 gauge colored wire etc is used to hold the rail in? So what is the actual rail? Flat piece of steel ribbon? What size is that? Same as used in the AFX track? Thanks
Great videos. I use a bread twisty to hold the motor box together while I remove and install it. Bulkhead to bulkhead. One less piece to pinch.
Hey brother, thanks for the tips. Found a Life-Like Nascar set at a thrift store today and initially she showed no life and my heart sank, but I followed your advice on resetting the contacts and she's running like new. Subscribed! 👍🔥💯👊🏼
have you tried this with RC cars?
No I haven’t. I’m not sure how silicone would work on an RC car. Silicone likes to pickup a lot of dust. You may be able to use the same process but use some type of rubber to pour into the mold.
@@TheSlotSpot thank you
Good job brother. Excellent how to video🥃
Thanks a lot !!
Very informative...enjoyed the vid..😊
You should do a video of how you did it
Denatured alcohol will not wash off grease. Grease is a hydrocarbon. White spirit or lighter fluid would be more appropriate. I don't own any HO cars. Why don't you true up tyres like 1/32 and 1/24 scale ?
Finally!!! A great video about the process
Me “making a slot car track would be cool but I don’t know how to make my own track. This dude : here’s a router jig I feel like I can figure out the rest this is what I needed. Now maybe tip on making elevated areas?
GOOD STUFF.! EAGLE RACEWAY.
Awesome video
The Blazer runs Nice! I love you layout/setup! I dig 4 lane HO layouts. That Green car is SICK! Gave you Sub. :) Race On!
I like to stay with stock cars. And I mean "stock". You can get more people and families into the hobby. As well as teaching how to tune-up the cars. Thanks for your help with this video. Keep up the good work. Thomas
Great tips!
Thanks a lot
Nice track! Interesting timing system.
Thanks
Excellent video.south africa
what a fantastic lay out.i wish i had something like that but i do not have the room at this time.
Great video! This really helps to simply things.
Drag racing track is cool.
Interesting video. I personally do not like to use a dremel tool for car reconditioning. I find a dremel to be a little too aggressive. Pencil erasers work well on armatures and are not as aggressive. High grit sandpaper or emery cloth works well on the pick up shoes and generally makes them flat to the track.
LapTrax? Are you still using this?
Thanks for sharing your tech tip.New to slot cars and HO. Keep the tech tips coming. Niice pliers.😂
just got back into the hobby after about 20 years and been watching your videos love them helps a lot forgot so much when it comes to repairing them. got a question where you get them rear rims cant find them can find for 4 gear but not them
Oh wow, OK thanks 👍
Hi, one more question, did you solder the cooper tape together under the track, or just use a screw to hold them.... ? Thanks Sean
Hi, I'm building basically the same track as you, I just have a few questions, how many spots did you power tap ? I was thinking of doing just two right before each straight away. My track is 18'x8' Thanks Sean
I only did 1 drop.
What’s the most popular scale right now ?
Depends who you ask but if you’re talking new retail I’d say 1/32 has the most options available. HO only has a handful of manufacturers.
Fun video. Takes me back to my teenager days! Thanks for all the detail. I’d forgotten about the shoe shaping - nice touch. Those magna-tractions designs were kinda complicated. Maybe show a G-plus car too. Another idea - compare AFX to Tyco innards. Until then, cheers!
Looks good brother liked and subbed
I Just found your channel and I have to say you have a great track layout with scenery. Also your car breakdowns and fixes are great little videos. Cleaning & repair👍 I miss my layout its all in boxes. 😊 Great job, i still hv my orig cars
That circular ring you were trying to get rid of happens when the car powers up. Centrifugal force makes the gear want to fly off. Without the chassie strap it would. You cant stop that friction thats why theres usually a drop of oil on the top gear or in your case a light grease. Love the T-jet/ AFX CARS, I have about 140 cars and trucks and a NOS cases of T-Jet chassies from long Island. I have so much crap im just up in the air as far as selling it, i have no where to set it all up anymore.
Awesome track for good racing !
It runs pretty well out of the package. I guess you can get lucky every now and then. Mine he not been great and one burned up pretty quick and AW to their credit sent me another complete chassis. Thank you.
Great information thx for your time knowledge 😊😊
Thanks a lot!!
The thing with any slot car set is that the controllers are usually junk. The thing with the newer mega g+ cars is that they need higher whatts to run and a higher OHM controller than most 1:64 scale cars. The mega g+ cars are usually a bit faster than other brands of the same scale. Unfortunately, if you have a set that is set up for the mega g+ cars, you can only run those cars. If you want to run other cars that are not mega g+, you will need a variable current adapter and a different OHM controller. The AFX set is considered a starter set to keep the price down, and additional parts are sold separately. The turn border walls may look better in the Auto World set, but they do not stay that well in place when a car hits it. The AFX fence is a bit better as it works. The tracks themselves may look a little different, but only cosmetic as the tracks for both sets are molded from the same molds in China, and the Auto World track just has some exterior paint. Also both tracks will connect together. Auto World, in general, is better than AFX. The Auto World set, since it is packaged better and comes with the supports does cost a bit more than the AFX set. As a side by side comparison, the video was neat, but it is like comparing apples to oranges, as both sets are similar as they are both nascar style tracks in the 1:64 scale but both kits are different enough that yes the Auto World set is more complete but the AFX set is sold as a starter set as the supports, track clips, etc... are sold separately to keep the cost down.
Brings back great memory👍🏾
Thx again for your time knowledge 😊
Good information thx for your knowledge 😊😊
Good morning…who made your track? What material? Thanks Rocco
The track was routed by Viper Scale Racing and assembled, railed, and wired by myself. It’s a pvc type material.
Love both those chassis! I know its an old video but that track is awesome! Is it gone?
Yeah this track is now gone. So is my big 4 lane oval. I went with a viper track to replace this one being that I got more into the club racing and needing more lanes and timing system.
@TheSlotSpot I like your black viper track much better than the white. To me looks so much better and still has that nostalgic look.
Nice video, thanks for sharing 👍 Subscribed
nice track set up
