DeAgostini 1:8 scale VW T1 Samba Pack 120 - It's Finished!
Welcome to my build of the 1:8 scale VW Samba van that was first available in 1951.
The van has a special place in my heart since we owned one (red just like this one) when I was a kid. Not sure it was a T1 or not, but it was a VW van. From here on out I will be each stage as a single posting video and will try to post them regularly when I have parts.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the show.

I am really enjoying the build - I hope you are too. I had never heard of Moomin before I saw the build available...but I loved the way the house looks. This build is a little different from the other part work builds I have done because it is all wood, plastic and cardboard. I don't think the are any screws in the kit at all. I will also be modifying it as I build - I want lights in my house. ...

Welcome to my build of the Disney Dollhouse from Hachette Partworks. I was able to get this kit from Brad over on HTM. We worked out a deal and so I am building it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the show. Like, ...

Buck has answered the question of what aliens are made of, its glue, magnets, and zip ties
Indeed they are...lots of glue and lots of zip ties...magnets just to make things interesting...
WHERE ARE YOU GUYS FINDING THESE MODELS
It is a part work from Fanhome. They are monthly subscriptions that you get a few parts of each month.
Bob the builder err Buck are you trying to hypnotize us with that waving cat on you desk lol.
You are getting very, very sleepy...uh...no...not really...well...maybe...lol He has been on my bench since around 2013. He's supposed to bring good luck.
Looking good buck
Thanks Eric!
She's coming along nicely Buck!
Thanks Ian
Buck, I hope you are still out there since this is two years old. Between part 1 and 2 of your videos I can’t see how to put together the keel. I have three parts but it looks like there are only 2 to be glued together. Is one of the parts a spare? I thought this was a beginners model but it is not. Where did you get the sizing triangle for the width of the parts? If you can please advise. Scott
Scott - I'm still here...it has been a long time since I did the first two videos...but if I remember right, there is a spare piece (or two). If you send me a picture of what you are looking at (buckmansmodelmania@gmail.com) I can look at what you're working on and hopefully help you out.
E.T.’s head is really starting to take shape
Yes it is...so far, this the best engineered part work I've ever done.
Doing Murphy proud Buck
I think so...at least when parts show up (dig at Ian)... BTW - our Pug is named Murphy...lol
Is it just me or did they miss the opportunity to add a cheap speaker and circuit board to play the Disney theme when you pushed on the keyboard
You're right...they did. But the keys are solid, so the really wouldn't have worked too well.
The black keys should be flush against the piece they sit in, with no gap of white keys
You are correct...and I just fixed it. Thank you
Alien autopsy with magnets 😂 every time is see someone use zip kicker I hear Todd dry heaving in my head 😉
More like a reverse Alien autopsy. Todd's reaction to kicker is pretty hilarious. And the magnets helps some, but the black super glue is what really holds it together.
Great video Buck! That engine looks sweet!
Thanks Donnie
Clever tip to use the door opening in the wall to hold the door frame together while the glue dries
I've put other doors together in the build, but this one was being a pain so I needed a jig. Seemed like the best way. Thanks for stopping by
Cool video, loved the intro 👌 😎 nice engine and details, its coming along nicely, thanks for the update, have a great week ahead 🍻 🇦🇺 🤝 🇺🇲 😎 😀 🍻 🇦🇺
Thank you...it does come together nicely. You have a great week as well
Stop manhandling the parts
But...why?
WTF? How's he supposed to assemble the thing? Silly comment.
@@the406seadonkey6 That ok...Dash is sometimes a silly person...lol
Another entertaining video as always
Glad you enjoyed it
I just bought this kit on Model Expo a few minutes ago after watching your videos. It was $59.99. I also bought two different Pavel Nikitin dinghys for $20 each. They look a lot simpler, so I think I will do them first before I try this kit.
Hope you enjoy them. They also have a deal going with the Dory that you can build it and get store credit afterwards. Videos coming soon on that one
@BuckmansModelMania Maybe I'm being a little nieve and overly ambitious, but I want to work my way up through all the wooden model boat difficulties over the next four or five years while I save up for a Scamp micro cruiser kit, a real sailing dinghy that I want to build for camping.
@@KlingonCaptain I don't think you are being naive or over ambitious. These small kits use the same building principles as full-sized boats. I looked at the dinghys...and I may have to pick them up...lol. Give them a shot and feel free to reach out to me at buckmansmodelmania@gmail.com if you have any questions at all during the build. I may not know the answer, but I can try and help. I've been building wood kits for almost 10 years now...and I think I do ok.
@@BuckmansModelMania Thank you for the encouragement. If I need help, it's good to know that there is someone I can ask for help.
Looks like a lot of mechanicals go into his head
There are a lot...and they all work really well on testing.
I’m really liking the way this kit is looking
It's a pretty good kit...just has a few issues. It will fit in well with the rest of the partwork figures I have.
That floor looks really good, can’t wait to see the assembled room
Thanks Eric! It is a little slow going with all the other kits I have in progress.
Interesting build, I’m gonna have to go back and watch the earlier videos in the series
It is a taxing build...I walked away for a little bit, but I am back on it. I think it will come out pretty well in the end.
It won't be long, and it will be talking 😊 even an electronic circuit board in there 😮 coming together ❤🇦🇺🏔🌧🍻🍻🦘🇦🇺
I'm looking forward to more progress and seeing how the electronics tie together. I plan on doing wall power for him just like most of my models.
He’s really starting to come together
Yes he is. So far he's a pretty good build.
Mised this series! Glad you’re back buddy.
Glad to be back...it has been busy here. Thanks for watching
That looks to be a challenging build with its round shape.
It hasn't been to bad so far. It's time consuming with some stages taking well over an hour...but I'm enjoying it. Adding lights is going to make it more challenging.
Hi, great videos. What do I need to search for on Amazon for the rotating led?
I don't remember exactly what I searched, but "rotating led light for rc" brought them up. Thanks for watching.
E.T. Is looking great. No worries about the dog I have a chihuahua lol
We have 4...the largest i a Samoyed...think 80 pounds of fur...
Looking good Buck
Thanks Eric! Robocop looks good too...lol
Entertaining as always Buck
Thanks Eric!
Understandable to get peeved with the decals for that price. It’s looking really good thou
I agree it looks good. But the decal doesn't fit right and it shouldn't be a thing at this price point. Also, look at the Fanhome Enterprise D decals...they're pink when they dry. Glad I got out of that one...
whit ther wash more color optie than only red and white
There is...if you are willing to paint it. I built a similar kit at 1;15 scale in blue...they now sit together in the display room.
This build makes me wanna fire up The Beach Boys
It is a pretty cool build...I think I had only one or two minor problems during the whole build...
cheers buddy, i will keep on watching your videos with great interest
Glad to hear it and glad if they help. I am really impressed with the engineering on the ET so far. Thanks for stopping by!
It was so nice of Donnie to send over his fly to help you out
It was...but I don't think he's going back to Donnie...I "took care of" the fly.
Coming together nice, the best looking batman car ever, and most iconic Batman🦇 🦇🦇
I agree - this has always been my favorite Batmobile
i no its Silicone Grease but whats name?
You shouldn't need it - by the end of stage 20, the sound goes away for the most part.
great video, have you got link to grease you bought i'm from uk
It's just silicon grease from Amazon. However, you shouldn't need it. The sound is cleared up later as you finish building the head. Anyway, here is the link - www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRNRWLB7?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Are you building Ian? All kidding aside it’s looking really good
Short, fat, big head? Story checks out...lol. It is a great build so far. Even things that I thought were going to be an issue have gotten fixed as part of the build. Thanks for stopping by!
When do we get a ride ?
I'll get to work on the shrink ray so we can fit ;-)
Looks amazing, it’s gotta feel good to finish a four year journey
It absolutely does. For a long time when EM went under, I though I would never get to finish it.
You need to find that gun from Honey I shrunk the kids, you will fit inside 😂 its huge 😊
It is huge...and it now lives next to the Routemaster...They look great together
Still watching 👀 but its getting close and looking awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍 ❤🍻🇦🇺🦘🌨❄️🏔
Thanks!
Can’t wait for the rest of
I finally got back to work on this. It takes a lot of time to build the stages for the house. Glad you're enjoying it.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, which glue is the fairest of them all
I'm still working that out...lol
I would have loved to build this for my daughter when she was younger
I'm building it for my wife - she is a huge Disney fan.
Looking good, love the old VW mini busses
Same here. And we had one when I was a kid.
Looking great nice 👌 👍 🇦🇺🤝🍻🦘🏔🌨❄️
Thank you! Cheers!
Nobody wants a floppy hose 😉
True - but those wires can be good...or a PITA
Looking great Buck. That directional dish looks really fiddly. It would elicit some four letter words from me doing it 😂
It is a little. A lot of the roof top box leaves something to be desired. Almost like they ran out of money...
@@BuckmansModelMania When in all actuality it should have gotten a good majority of the focus from the designers since it’s what is going to be the most visible
@@ithink2ez Very true...but EM didn't have the best business sense. We won't talk about the flux capacitor or "Christmas tree" on the DeLorean...
Looks like a fun build
It is a pretty good build...but the shipping of parts is really spotty. I went 4 months with no part at one point.
