Nolan update!
Переглядів 2014 місяці тому
Hey everybody we are so thankful you are walking through this with us in your prayers! Just wanted to give an update on where we are with Nolan at the moment. We ask for prayers for his blood counts to recover as we wait for this in the hospital. He is worn out and his body is slowly recovering from these last treatments which we knew would be a difficult process!

Same thing I use on my novix short sticks with 1/4" rope mods... been doing that for a couple years
It's so simple and nothing to clang and bang on metal.
Don't see the point when you have a tether line. I'm not putting trust into a 'rubberized wire'.
@@FrankDog-d5r I’m not using a tether I’m using a lineman’s rope to climb and a tether once I climb. Also, I’m not using the rubber wire for safety it only holds the lineman’s rope in place when you lean forward to attach your stick. A lineman rope is only used for the climbing process because it’s faster and doesn’t need adjusted every time you move up on the tree.
@@HuntingHomestead122 Ok...I see a tether line level with your head, but yeah I know what a lineman's rope is used for. I get your saddle tip, hope it helps others for sure. Don't know any hunter that doesn't use a tether while climbing, but go for it!
@@FrankDog-d5r we were shooting for practice out of the saddle, that’s why we had the tether!😄
Linemans won’t necessarily stop you in a fall, but this looks safer than 90% of the saddle hunters using linemans that I see on youtube!
When did you get the bird during burn season or no? I was thinking about removing the screen once i start burning, my flue would hardly never need sweeping but that cap needs to be cleaned off a few times a season. One time i had all that junk fall off the cap and down the pipe and ignited, that was fun.
@@Johnnysokko168 oh my! That sounds like a crazy time. It was in the summer when the bird went down the chimney.
Love it! Great job guys!
Thx for the useful tip!
Love this simple idea!!! Thanks man!
Beautiful bounty
Nice, giving me some motivation😊
Love it
This is pretty brilliant. I wish I had seen it 2 years ago, before I spent 80 bucks on versa Links for my helium. Great channel. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
@@JaredMurray-qp7pj Thanks for the encouraging comment! I hope you have a great hunting season!
Good tip for multi stickers. Try the S.M.A.R.T. One Stick (NO SLACK) Method. This was the first video of yours I've watched. I like homestead content too. I'll keep watching. Beautiful family. God Bless.
@@LIFEONTHELINE-xn8gs I will have to check that out!
@@HuntingHomestead122 Very cool!
Great tip!!
@@talib415 Thanks!
Great idea and tip! Thanks
@@kward1911 Thanks!
That is one way to keep your lineman's up without it falling. If you were to slip and fall, would your gear tie hold your weight ,and would your lineman's belt open up? On a girth hitched tether a gear tie is very safe. Where you tie your gear tie on your lineman's belt, I tie a climbing rated prussic knot with a climbing rated caribeaner. I clip the caribeaner onto the opposite side of the rope, as close to the tree as you do. I feel it's extremely safe and easy. Thanks Man!!
@@keylimewinesingersongwrite862 what you have going sounds much safer by all means but for me this a quick, simple, quiet and easy way to solve a problem that I think most people deal with. Plus at this point you are hands free to hold on to the tree and it’s not got a carabiner to make noise against the climbing stick. Thanks for watching and the much safer advice!👍
That is a great idea thank you for sharing that 👍👍
@@brandondrane9710 thanks! No problem!
Why would you use a saddle when you can use a climbing stand? They came out in 80s but we didn't use them because climbing stand was lighter and didn't make nearly the noise
@@gregfrazier5214 Good question! I’m not an exclusive saddle hunter and this is only my second year using it. I will say it took a few tries before I became comfortable using it. It’s like anything in life it’s a tool. It’s something that I use when I can’t get in a position with a climbing stand. Also, they have become much lighter and I will say I would much rather pack my saddle set up in on a long walk rather than my climber!
I don't know what saddle you're talking about but I'm 41 yrs old hunting since I could walk. Ain't a climber I've seen lighter than a saddle setup.
Because a climber can’t be used on every tree. Only straight limbless types. The saddle lets you access any type tree. Gnarly, twisted, lots of limbs .. whatever. And no way is a climber lighter.
My whole saddle setup is under 6lbs..and i climb as quiet as or more than a climber.. when you start hunting a half mile or mile deep or move spots alot, nothing beats the saddle..i had a summit climber that i loved sitting in, but such a bulky heavy pain in the ass to get long distance with..and you cant climb trees w limbs..saddle is the best way to go for a mobile public land hunter
@@StealthTRD I feel the same way! I have a summit as well and given the choice I would much rather sit in it all day but it’s just not as good for mobility.
Good idea, thanks
@@jefferyburch4808 No problem hope it helps others. Thanks for watching!
