Great concert for Richard Flohil 90th birthday 06/24/2024
It was a great, fun night
Love this song of Eagles prompted me to purchase Vinyl LP record during mid 1975 and still keep with me as vintage. I still listening it on Sony Music System with Technics table.
Massspads is a great shit and hopefully good
I am catching these guys on Thursday. It'll be my sons first concert. I'm so incredibly excited. I know Marcus will join Chris at some point, and my head will explode.
Looks like their best musician left the band. The Carpet Frogs are officially road kill. Where is Jeff Jones now???
God, they still sound so good together. I really miss them...
You guys are enjoying and that's great 👏👏👏👏
Kathleen Edwards ♥
I picked up a Blue Rodeo album in the bargain bin about 30 years ago... Took it home and loved it. Being in Pennsylvania at the time they played there. Anyway, I thought it was really good. I think I still have it.
That's a lot of Acoustics up there!!!😅😅😅
Absolutely beautiful for Gordon. Gordon Lightfoot was such a beautiful human. A true peoples person. A humble man, he was so well connected with people around him. Unfortunately I never got to experience him live in Australia.
My first real concert was G.L. in Phoenix, AZ middle 70s (my mom took me. She was cool and still is in her 80s.)
5:45 Geddy gazing at Alex playing...at 5:59 he looks up to the ceiling...maybe he thought of Neil, maybe not....but I like to think so. Salute & Peace
How cool was that! ❤️
The old fokes home must have been empty for awhile.
Great job, nice to see tom on stage 🎸🎶👍
6 Six string guitars on stage? Stupid! Maybe 2 guitars, 1 bass, pedal steel, yes but 6 guitars???
Superb!
This is very close to Lightfoot's original recording, which differs quite a bit from a second, more widely known version by Gordon. The whole trippy vibe here comes from that original Lightfoot take. It's great to see Geddy and Alex, they are massive fans of Gordon Lightfoot. Unabashed about it. Lightfoot really informed Geddy's writing. Proving again Mr. Lightfoot's genius did connect with so many different musicians/songwriters and genres. Cute sidebar: Gordon used to call Geddy when Rush was still touring to ask how many shows Rush planned on doing -inevitably the much younger RUSH were outpaced by Gordon, who was in his late 70's. Also, Geddy said one of the biggest honors in his life was when Gordon called him to tell him he'd just seen the RUSH documentary and loved it.
4 acoustic guitar players on stage....wow!
This sounds like the next progression of Rush. It's electric, but organic, almost tribal. Absolutely enjoyed this song! I'll have to check out the original.
Alex & Geddy ( Rush ) make everyting so much better !!!
Ged and Al just need play music together. I’d love it if the did something totally different. Get a bunch of musicians and have fun!
Absolutely brilliant
The guy playing th SG has an amazing suit!
I love both groups. Sadly the average connoisseur of has never heard of Blue Rodeo. Poor audio quality here.
Sad that your take away from this was the comment on the poor audio quality - such was recorded by way of a cellphone. Rolling Stone thought it good enough to publish such in an article about the evening. Please let me know if you find any better clips from the show, audio or video wise. I would love to see them.
I don't know these people. I swear.
SOOO Glad to see the Guys Making Music!! Neil is Smiling!! as am I
The look on the fancy white suit guy when he realizes the guy in the plain black shirt is outshining him.
GORD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely love the acoustics guys! Excellent !
I watched 5 seconds and began to cry....anyone else feel moved by this?
Got me when G. was looking at his friend jamming with love and pride. What a friendship! RIP Niel your always with them this is well known ❤️💪✨
💯
Oh yeah! Gordie forever!
Things I Never Thought I Would See, Number 2112
Aside from Geddy Lee, I have no idea who any of these people are?
Burton Cummings is really starting to show his age 😢 like we all are!
Because hes old 😂
Hey Ed - this was your first tune with GL wasn't it?
One of my favorite early Lightfoot songs! Thanks Blue Rodeo and Rush for doing this obscure number.
Love it
Blue Rush🤘
In about 1978 at 10 years old, I discovered a song called "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" in a table-side jukebox at my family's favorite diner in New Jersey that played 2 songs for a quarter. Even though my mother said it was terribly depressing, it moved me in a way no song had before. I ended up playing it 3 more times before our meal was done. About 2 years later in the same diner jukebox I played a song from a group I'd never heard before called "Spirit of Radio". I was then hooked for life on music that would occupy the next several decades of my life. Of course, my mother hated that too. Thanks to Canada for filling my life with so much great music. RIP Mr. Lightfoot.
Love this
I don't think I could love this any more but it also makes me miss Neil even more. Perfect GL song for Geddy to sing. Wow
Lovely song, lovely version. Is there a better sound recording of this?
Great version, too bad the sound on this one is so poor.
Wow he nailed the Greg keelor sound!
Dirk rip en the P ❤️ Awesome to see them playing again.
I love how Geddy looks at Alex with such joy near the end. Just watching him play and smiling.
Shear admiration for a true friend
Yes, that was super special. You could feel the love. So cool.
Geddy still sounds good!
Great !
😃😃
Who's the guy in the yellow sears sucker suit ?
