Did you intentionally set 40psi in the front tires? I believe it may be too high. The BMW TPMS has not been accurate for me. I use a separate tire gauge
It’s too high for sure. I put new tires on it, TKC80s, and overinflated. I bleed it down after the test rides, just wanted to make sure I did not have a leak.
You,re right my friend! I love my 1300 GSA too... mine is the red one😎😎😎Teh EVO Telelever makes a huge difference with the old one! The front fork feeling is amazing!!!
I agree, normally the telelever don’t provide a lot off feedback like a conventional fork, but the 1300 does a much better job than the 1250 in my opinion.
I think the pannier-rack works better for me as on the 1250GSA; now it is symmetrical..... Agree with you on "project-management"...... but I also see "light at the end of the tunnel"..... In november 2024, I was informed that my panniers for my 1300GSA were expected somewhere in quarter 2 of 2025...... but last week I got my 2 side panniers (live in the Netherlands)! Also see other owners getting theirs..... seems, they are catching up.
I agree, and I am very happy to hear that they have started to make deliveries of the panniers. Thank you for sharing
It’s a shame people buy these bikes, these companies, land rover have done the same they are prioritising profit over keeping loyal customers happy, the 1250 was phenomenal and just perfect, the would always sell them no issues, but they’ve ruined it and it’s people buying the dam things that’s the issue they need to learn that they have cocked up and back track but they won’t because people still buy them
These are somewhat minor issues - still a perfect off road ADV bike for me. Biggest issue for me is that they did not get panniers released with the bike. Looking forward to my first BDR with it in two week! Unfortunately not with BMW bags
@@Matsridesoffroadthat’s fair enough I understand, for me I will never buy another gsa again my 2024 gsa is the most precious motorcycle in the world to me now. I know I’m not alone in that feeling. Sadly the bike has lost its iconic ness with this move BMW have made I feel they should have upgraded the bike but being true to its heritage and iconicness. Same as Land Rover they bought out disco 5, great car but in all modern ways bit it’s not iconic same as the new defender it’s not an iconic car. It’s just another good SUV
Thanks Mat. A question if you don’t mind. I’m thinking of getting one of these bikes. How is it without a back rest? I ride Harley’s now with a backrest and to be honest I can’t picture riding without one now. Thank you 🙏
I have had my fair share of Harleys and had back rests on all of them. I had a few BMW RTs in the past with Corbin seats and I added back rests to them as well, so I recognize the concern. I am now on my my 5th BMW GSA and I have not missed a backrest at all. Take one for a longer test ride on the highway and see what you think, I think you will be fine without the backrest.
@ thank you for your reply 🙏
My Dealer told me January for the panniers. I did pick up a factory tank bank last week when I did my first service. I like it. A bit pricey but it's a BMW right :)
@@jeffreyuth6362 I don’t think the dealers know. BMW Germany has apparently not communicated a date. Tank bag is nice, and I agree, pricey :)
Happy New Year! Check around at other dealers for the luggage. They are out there. I had both the panniers and top case installed when I picked up my Triple Black ASA on December 7th. Bob's BMW in Baltimore had them in stock. Mine were the aluminum color. I'm not sure if the black was in stock though.
@@617wolf Thank you! Much appreciated. I check in with them tomorrow
did you just shift in the middle of a turn? That's a NO NO
👍🏻
That’s super useful! Thanks for sharing! ❤
👍🏻❤️
Very useful video too.
Thank you
What a stupid video. Everyone owning this bike knows that.
Why would you take this bike off road, 90% of GSA riders cant handle these in a gravel car park on the flat. 450 cc is max most strong riders can handle of road
@@checker3694 It’s not the bike, its the rider. Anyone can learn to ride the GSA well off road if they put in the time.
@Matsridesoffroad No way is it possible not even for Hulk Hogan, off road on compacted gravel road only , 5 inchs of loose sand and guys are dropping these below 10mph.These are on road touring bikes that spend 99.9% on Tarmac. 450cc and 150kg can go anywhere with strong rider only, not 300kg + boats when loaded with panniers which these are.
@ Take a weekend class at RawHyde and see if you change your mind .
@Matsridesoffroad You can't change the laws of mass and weight, the you tube video showing the Landrover defender in the hands of a professional stuck up to its axles, and the fiat panda 4x4 driving through past him in the hands of an Amateur.
Hello what is thé name of your hand protection ? Thank you, merci beaucoup 😊
Those are hippo Hands, great for cold weather riding
Nice video, thanks for sharing my friend👍
👍🏻
Will this cover fit over the black BMW cases I just got for my 1300gsa? 😅
haha
It would be useful to know how to connect the Denali control unit to the can bus of the GS 1300 Adventure motorcycle. Which would be the correct connector to insert. I would like to buy only the two headlights but I don't know which can bus socket to connect to the motorcycle... also do they give you errors on the motorcycle's display?
No errors at all. In the US we don’t have the alarm systems so it plugs in to the dead alarm system connector under the passenger seat. you can find details on the Denali website.
thanks can you share the photo where the smart can connector is inserted .. is it perhaps this? with Faretti lone rider and Motocan releases this error
Thx for sharing this with us ✌🏼 Ride safe!
My pleasure - you to!
Looks like so much fun!
Like Disneyland for off road riders
That jump looked scary 😮
👍🏻
I have had mine for a little over a week. I have experienced an issue with the starting that I saw the 1300 GS had. Sometimes it’s the first time sometimes it takes five tries. Have an appointment on the 27th which will also be my first service as well.
So far no starting issues with mine. Runs like a champ. Hopefully your dealer figures it out. My guess is that it is the right hand switch control housing. Ask you dealer to check his service bulletins.
@ will do thanks.
This is very interesting .. you are riding the street naked version of my bike, the BMW RT. Someday I'll have to try it on the trails.
@@suzyamerica4679 RT is a great version of it, had 2 in my past, although that was a few years ago.
@@Matsridesoffroad Been wondering how long the RT lasts if you take care of it. And right now I'm catching up on all the maintenance that was deferred for the last owner or two.
@@suzyamerica4679 My guess is at least 200,000 miles. I have friends that has over 100,000 on their GSA’s and no sign of issues.
@@Matsridesoffroad Cool beans. At 78K it's still got strong compression, idles nicely, doesn't leak or burn oil. I wish it got better mpg's, but, honestly, mopeds can't do what that thing does.
@@suzyamerica4679 It’s a great bike for the road.
Thanks for testing this out 😊
Should work for all other manufacturers as well (Skid plate manufacturers)
That looks amazing! Thanks for posting this!
Anything for you :)
Great!!
👍🏻
Service bike…I’m impressed.. my local dealer in Ohio rarely has one to demo.. may have to come to Michigan to demo & purchase ….. Appreciate your impression between the two.
I am a long time customer of BMW Motorcycles of Detroit, they have about 12 - 15 demo bikes. One of each model. Their thinking is that you should ride the bike first so you buy the right bike. They always have taken great care of me. Full disclosure, I started to work there, helping out in sales after I retired late in 2024. Can’t really comment on the other dealer, they changed ownership a couple of years ago, previous owner was a great guy, but I don’t know the current owner or what service level they provide nowadays.
Painful to watch with your camera. I think a camera with better stabiliser would be a great investment. Be safe!
👍🏻
The charge point has moved to the front right in the cockpit
The DIN port front right was always there, although they made it a USB for a few years, but the DIN port for the passenger (Left side, rear) is unfortunately gone on the 1300. I added a direct connection to the battery on the left, mainly for my heated gear
@ I will be adding a direct connection too for my compressor as the oem one is usually fused too low and tris out
The bigger tank and windshield on the "adventure" also gives better wind protection for long distance highway riding.
Sure does, really appreciate that on cold days
What tail bag are you using? I had to use a backpack yesterday coming back from the dealership
TOURATECH EXTREME WATERPROOF EXPANDABLE TAIL RACK BAG, 055-1006.
I just bought a R1300 GS Adventure yesterday in triple black. I was curious where you plugged in your Quad Lock wireless charger? Also the standard fog lights on your bike have a cover. Is that aftermarket or part of the trophy edition? Thanks.
Congrats! Fog light covers are standard on the Trophy. I wired the Quad Lock and the 2nd GPS to my CAN Smart device. Same as powering my extra lights and brake lights. Purchased from Denali. You can also wire it to the USB plug in the front storage compartment on top of the fuel tank.
@ thanks. I have my panniers on order and my dealer said January. I started out on a 2022 GS then traded it in for a 2024 GSA. I had that for 6 months but fell in love with triple black 1300 GSA. Not many parts available yet.
@ Waiting for my panniers as well.
Except that's not a 1300 GSA.
You are correct, should have said 1250!
I need to visit your town! Those lights are beautiful.
They are. Gets a little congested in December, lots of people drive through to see the lights.
Great info on gear, thanks for sharing my friend!
Thanks for watching!
Very good info my friend! Thanks for sharing, I have a 24 r1250 gsa, but I sure love the looks of your bike!👍 ride safe my friend 🙏
Thank you, the 1250 is an assume bike
Wrong tool for this terrain. These bikes are meat for better trails
That’s the fun part. not looking for easy, looking for fun and challenging
100% mate but people tend to buy these big bikes on viewing videos of expert riders and get caught up thinking they can ride the that with, one . Great bikes for doing a specific thing . People need to ask themselfs what riding they will be doing first . Big bikes in the wrong terrain can cause big injuries
Basic trail for 110 cc motorcycles in Philippines. 1300 GSA makes it look complicated even when its not.
That’s part of the fun. I use to race 240s, but riding a 1300 well off road is more satisfying. If I wanted easy I would buy a tiny bike
I saw this when I did my level one class. It looks scarier in-person than on video haha.
Video always flattens things out. It’s a fun exercise
Big heavy over priced paper weight only good for road riding yet people still think the most expensive bike is the best bike and normally have not got the skills to ride such bike
By far not the most expensive bike out there. It’s in the $30K range, but don’t just look at the price tag. You have to look at total cost of ownership. This is my 6th BMW GSA, and so far trade in values has been great. And service is cheap compared to many out there, so total cost of ownership is acceptable to me.
Guess you cannot afford one.🥳
Amazing how all the GS experts come out in these threads. Yes, it is heavy, but if you ride a GS just once, you might understand the appeal. GS’s have been exploring the globe since their introduction…there isn’t a better all-round touring bike made IMO…it’s not an enduro machine…but if you want to explore and then do 500+ miles in a day…go ahead and offer a better option.
@ Agree 100%
@ now that is what I can agree on👍
Just bought myself a 2024 R1250GSA for my 69th birthday 🎉 Life is too short not to ride a GOAT 😂
Congrats, you got yourself a great bike!!
Wow i live right by you. I was like hey this area looks familiar lol. Small world. Ride on brother!
Small world indeed. it’s a good area. just not to much trails around here. have to get a couple of hours North for that
Thank you for the video, congratulations on your new ride. New sub, look forward to your video’s on life with the GSA. Cheers
Thank you, so far a great ride.
That looks fun!
Lots of fun, not hard as long as you have good clutch control
love the quick tips , keep em coming !
Thanks! Will do!
The mirrors looks Nice. What is the name of producer?
These are Touratech foldable mirrors. It’s a hinge on them so you can fold them down in seconds so they don’t hit trees and shrub
Like the licens plate. Here in Sweden grus is the name for gravel.
I know :) I am Swedish by birth. Grow up in Stockholm and Karlstad before moving to the states about 30 years ago. glad you noticed!
1250/1300 very big lumps! You need to keep moving at all times !
about 600 Lbs, not to bad
All the fun goes away with this setup 😢.
The fun starts here :)
The Stealth Black Badlands Pro A3 is a great color. I have heard that it’s 10% lighter than regular pro. Do you notice the reduction in weight?
Not necessary in weight, but in flexibility. it feels broken in right of the bat
Looks fun but the part of getting stuck in the mud. Where is that trail?
Small trail in an industrial park in Pontiac, MI
@@MarcoKotonski It’s really wet and muddy if you go to the lower areas of the park. The mud I got stuck in was deep, about 1.5 foot deep. Hard work to get it out and needed a wash after that :)
Man, you really have put the bike to work. I’m sure you don’t need any exercise , it was plenty for a day session 😅👍🏻
Unfortunately, it is the clear variety or the OEM version of the short windscreen. I can send you photos if you like Mark.
Worst case I have one made. But I hope some of the aftermarket guys make one by next spring
