Pro tip if you haven't already figured it out. Next to where you read the time it takes to process the coaster. If you hit the play button it shows you exactly where the laser will engrave and run through to show you how it will look. You can adjust the power, lines etc to get a darker engrave. I love the feature because you can adjust so many things before you hit start.

Hey bud to my north, just catching your YT stuff while deep diving CNC routing stuff, and got a stupid question off the top of my head~ inside the boxes, have you tried painting them inside? like silver? gold? flat black? and do they make blacklight led's?.... This reminds me of those infinity boxes bitd, when LED's were new, where you looked into it and it looked like a time travel portal~ Way trippy :) ~ One Q I've developed watching your stuff, can that be adapted to an existing machine? I know mounting the laser is cake, but it's the computer and setup/workflow. it's so stupid simple looking even I could pull it off with zero experience after watching you. Everything else I've seen and studied has been run with Lightburn. This looks way simpler, or I missed something. ~ It's crazy how some people, you just hook up with and they got a way of putting it out there with the perfect amount of cheese. Another Q, maybe you got some wisdom on this~ primarily, I want to engrave metals. That would fill a gap for me in what I do. It would be SS, brass, silver, high chromium carbon steel, high carbon steel, hardened steel down to photo engraving just to not limit myself. I do everything by hand now, but I see these cnc tools opening an entirely new wonder of possibility. Loved your slate coasters, stone is another question I had, but that's answered. Have you worked on a reason for the rotary option? messed with it? Knowing what a tool can do is the start of imagining what you can do. I love those vibes. Good job.

Hey bud, I was considering painting inside of the frame or some white aluminum I have left over from a siding job, I buy them In 2 packs and they come with a few different backgrounds that I test with the images I’m burning. I love the idea of an infinity box those are very trippy 🌀 having a fairly new laptop with a good version of windows goes a long way, I’m soon uploading my unboxing of the S1. I’ve always used XCS I learned a lot with my D1 Pro, then making the switch to the S1 makes projects even faster and easier. Also the recent XCS updates are really nice and makes the flow even smoother. I’ve never used light burn or other laser programs it was always easier for me to understand the program that came with the xTool. The auto focus and ease of framing with the S1 is a huge game changer that makes a beginner really take off into projects. Using high quality images and the correct settings that xTool does supply a lot of in XCS making the process even faster and easier. I will soon be running test grids on materials more often to determine the best setting. The 20w can engrave SS, acrylic and some other metals but the true key for those materials is the 2w Infrared that I’ll be saving up for so I can also engrave all those materials with amazing details and some colours. Another really nice thing about this S1 I can easily swap out the laser module in a couple minute from 20w to 2w infrared. I love working with slate always nice results I’m always making new images and will be uploading more to my Etsy store this evening. I’ve used the rotary with my D1 pro to make some tumblers, I need to install the riser base on my S1 before I can set up my new rotary and also can use my conveyer belt once riser base installed so looking forward to getting into that soon. Thanks bud and stay tuned for lots more Keep your laser focused & stay creative ❌🔥

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed making them and the results. I love engraving slate and usually just leave them natural. I haven’t tried hair spray on them yet, you can clear coat them with a transparent varnish. The stone I showed in the video with a coating was acutely butcher block mineral oil that’s food safe. It will make the slate look a little more slick so try and test and see what you like best. Would love to see your results you can email them to xtramorecreations@gmail.com ❌🔥
