Static vs. Dynamic Arrow Spine 🎯 Understand the key to better arrow flight! #ArcheryTech #archery
How do you choose the right arrows for your bow? Whether you're new to archery or looking to refine your setup, understanding arrow spine is crucial for better performance. In this video, I, Bobby Nishimura, a recurve archer, will guide you through the difference between static and dynamic spines and why they matter. 🎯
We’ll explore how the arrow spine is measured, what those spine numbers mean, and how factors like draw length, arrow length, and point weight affect the dynamic spine. Using a digital spine tester, I'll demonstrate how to tune your arrows for optimal flight. From the archer's paradox to modern plunger technology, why do you think arrows need to be flexible? What are you going to select for your next arrows?
Plus, we’ll look at iconic slow-motion arrow flight scenes from movies like Brave and real-life footage of arrows bending and correcting in flight.
Ready to take your archery game to the next level?

One year ago, my equipment failed, and I walked away from the California Classic 1440. DNF: Did Not Finish. Now, I’m returning to the 2024 California Classic 1440, determined to finish what I started. This tournament is held at my home range in Long Beach, but that doesn’t give me much of an advantage. Shooting across four distances, starting at 90 meters, I faced mental and physical challenges...

    My parents used to own a sporting goods store (mostly team sports) and we sold tons of Easton bats. They always had a great warranty…but the service was horrible. Easton wouldn’t let us return a bat. The bat HAD to come direct from the customer, and a the store was supposed to have nothing to do with it. My understanding is that Easton hardgoods is priced to be a 2 for 1. Meaning…when you buy a first bat, they know they are going to have to give you a 2nd bat somewhere down the line. It’s not an “IF”. It’s a “WHEN”. The ONLY thing I can think is that Easton wants a record. That way little Johnny doesn’t just wrap his bat around a pole every 11 months and get perpetual free bats. However with all those excuses… We used to package up people’s bats and ship them to Easton for them anyways. We had the RA paperwork ready and would help them along their warranty process. I mean…most people don’t even have a box to ship a bat. So we did what we could. I kind of understand why they’re so firm about it. But I also think if you work with Easton, you have to be prepared for this. And they’re not prepared.

      @bobbynishi 14 днів тому

      That’s very insightful. Thank you for sharing. I’ve seen Easton’s bat on display shelves and always wondered why they stopped doing Baseball. But I still believe that the store I deal with can do more. Sounds like yours did… and that makes all the difference.

    • @bobbynishi
      @bobbynishi 25 днів тому

      That’s a trick question: in archery, we care about every aspect of our gear… if you don’t, it’ll cost you in the long run…. But yes… I am Sansei (third generation)…

    • @elibuster4569

      @bobbynishi law of entropy. I've noticed that us Americans typically do things in a crude fashion, whereas Japanese typically care about the more minute details. Idk if it's right or wrong but I do like it. I care for my things. For example I care about my guns but it's usually just clean and oil, maybe adjust sights if needed. But there is a lack of focus I've noticed. We take things for granted that japanese don't, and I think that's really cool

    There is no need for the clamp to be rounded and to have more contact with the arrow (10:45), it is enough to stick the spin wing to the arrow only until the clamp separates, and then the spin wing must be pressed against the arrow with finger. If the clamp were rounded, then a clamp would be needed for each arrow that has a different diameter. Anyway, your review is excellent.

    • @bobbynishi
      @bobbynishi 6 місяців тому

      The chest guard (white protector on my left side) is for when I draw the bow and the string touches the left of my chest… depending on the shirt I am wearing, I need the string to touch and feel the same with every shot. In a windy day, a looser shirt can cause the bow string to catch and cause the arrow to fly funny… with a chest guard, shots are more consistent.
