    As you lift the D2 the front end will push towards the drivers side this why a adjustable panhard needs to be installed to keep alignment straight

    Little things always improve functionality and look like losing skinny roof bars for 04 style that's bigger. i own a 04 D2. Also, check out Hyena overland they have lots of D2 upgrades you don't see in the usa. i like a lot of their products

    So what did it drive like? Did it lean more in bends at speed? I’d like to know as I’m considering the same lift for mine but really don’t want to lose it’s good road manners. Thanks

      It drives exactly the same as it did, theres no issues with it feeling top heavy or losing any "road manners". It feels great now but its not anything crazy drastic, mainly it just sits up higher and looks like its levelled now as opposed to the front dipping slightly. I could make a video on my thoughts after it being installed a year and a half if people would be interested

    Nice work! Get rid of that orange coolant ASAP, it’s widely believed that’s a huge reason for head gasket issues.

    • @JoseLeon-mi2mn
      @JoseLeon-mi2mn 9 місяців тому

      Agreed, gasket material swells due to the silicates in the orange coolant. I run the pink coolant which is silicate free and haven’t had HG issues, 130k miles in

      @@JoseLeon-mi2mn Gaskets in which part of the system? This is very interesting to me as alike many other disco owners I'm constantly watching my coolant temps and driving accordingly

    When recording a how to viedo please don't skip steps not everyone mechanical how to do install i got its easy to do , you may think what you skip the shock tower assembly for those who don't get it anyway nice viedo i own a 07 rover lr3 but i always wanted a lrd2 because of it old school look but land rovers can be very problematic with faults i like to swap engine only if i find a cheap one after i sell my 06 jeep commander

    You don't have to remove the turret to do this although irs a bit more fiddly, removing the droplink and crossmember makes it a hell of alot easier also, rears on thr floor undo droplinks or cut and fit extended and undo shocks on the floor, should be able to just lift the old one out and barely compress the new one.

    • @Mantoothski
      @Mantoothski 5 місяців тому

      Yeah tbh it may have been less work to just take it off instead of having to compress the springs as much or at all, good advice for the next time

    It’s so crazy how these things are legendary for toughness yet they breakdown going to the grocery store love the looks also but I’m still buying a 96 Lexus LX450?🧠🤯🔫

      I would have to say I don’t think they break down any more or less then the next vehicle but I will say sourcing parts is much more difficult when stuff does break lol

    Stop putting your fingers in compressed springs …..

    • @garviere
      @garviere 6 місяців тому

      It’s not the fingers that matter as the coils will spring apart if the compressors slip off, but when they do they go sideways and break teeth! You almost want to where a full face crash helmet when using spring compressors! 😀

    Very nice explanation, Did you got the heavy duty? how is the ride on those shocks? would be nice to have a short video explaining the ride on quality on and off road. im planning on putting those on my D2, thanks for sharing your experience.

    • @Mantoothski
      @Mantoothski Рік тому

      Thank you! The package I got was just the medium duty. I'm not sure if the springs are different from the heavy duty but I think the shocks are valved differently. The ride is pretty similar so far but once I get some better weather I will take it out on some trails and give an update video!
