I read a fic with a theory kinda like this its called 'leafing through the pages, I found you' by YunaYamiMouto on ao3. The theory is that the cat guy was close friends with dazais parents but his mum couldn't conceive so cat guy wrote the entire pregnancy for dazai in the book so she could carry a kid and dazai ends up getting ahold of the book at some point in his life, the book speaks to him and kinda warns him when people are dangerous he ends up keeping it and when the cat guy and cat guys mentor meet up they talk about taking the book back since dazai wasn't supposed to have it but they don't take it back cuz the book chose dazai as the next author. I will say this theory isn't the main point of the fic cuz the fic goes through dazais whole life up to his present self but def a good read.
