Backyard Science- Make Your Own Nature Journal!
The Algorithm has spoken, and I must watch.
Awwwww
hey get your bags you are chosen by the algorithm
praise be to the almighty
Did it not form a cocoon, or did you take it out? I think mine is pupating outside without forming a cocoon and I’m very confused
My family visited a couple of years ago and got to watch the prairie dog! Thank you for the incredible lessons and experiences you share! Keep up the great work!
im surprised it didn't run
Hey Justin! Meeka was a pet and was very used to people.
Ok I thought a chrysalis is what butterfly's come out of. I thought that was a pupa or pre pupa. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not correcting you I'm asking if I am wrong or just confused
Lol
Why do their heads go back and forth when they walk?
He's so cute and fat! What's he gonna do next ?
How long before he sheds old skin, and becomes chrysalis to be?? From the frantic stage??
A couple hours, depends on conditions
Is it differant with elephant hawk moths??
I don't have any experience with that species, but it usually it happens fairly quick.
Very cool fish. I live in Nebraska and they are the most common fish in the Platte River. I also keep them in my aquarium.
Luna Moth host plant is the Pecan Tree, so thats what we fed them. They eat an enormous amount.
More ,more,longer,longer
Spectacular fish, I have 6-7, only 1 has reached maturity and he is one of the coolest fish I've seen. Under the right light he's almost cobalt blue with a brilliant orange head. You're gonna need a couple nerite snails for that algae, they do serious work.
Their names are pickles and scooter :)
Nice, it makes me remember my little caterpillar I called sweetie, sadly I didn't get to see it hatch as a moth, but the cocoon was with me for many months.
Chappy's about 6 years old, I've read that they can live up to 20 years in captivity though...
Are you raising them?
urs is bigger thans mine
It was really awesome to watch it happen, usually you only see the finished result. Let me know if you have anymore questions!
Never knew about that black line being the heartbeat. That's pretty cool :)
