Channel to include entertainment shows that we attend
"Cowpoke"
"Cowpoke" was written by Stan Jones and recorded first by Elton Britt and the Skytoppers in 1951. Folks always wonder who originally performed and recorded this song. The song romanticizes the wandering life of a cowboy, and the lyrics review some of the hardships, from loneliness to empty pockets
In my research I found there were 13 other artists who recorded "Cowpoke"
They are Rex Allen, Slim Whitman, Johnny Western, Eddy Arnold, David Houston, Hank Williams Jr, Riders in the Sky, Glen Campbell, Don Walser, Dave Stamey, Wylie and The Wild West, Supersuckers.
Tonight here is Bret Graham and his great version of "Cowpoke"
