Great job guys..love your videos
Thank you very much! Comments like this mean a lot to us. We have plenty more coming so we hope you stay tuned :)
Wish there was more info in the last part. I have no idea where you put that bracket
@@alimansour9122 are you referring to the bracket that pushes the lower half of the fender out so that it lines up with the door?
My issue was leakage of battery acid into the wire looms below thathave vacuum lines in them. Holes in the vacuum lines threw the P0410 code. Be sure to check for acid damage as this is also a common problem with the C5. PS: your computer also lives below the battery which is also susceptible to damage.
@@johndemorro1676 yes it's always good to be checking your battery to make sure it is good and cannot cause any issues especially to the components below it

If only I could find a garage (not a Chevy dealer) in Sacramento that is familiar with Corvettes.

If all else fails you can always send it to us here and we'll make it right for you!

Great video! That’s some pretty bad quality control by ARH and Borla!
@@Tanner_Teves agreed, it was definitely surprising to have issues like this. We usually don't have any problems with these installs
@@AntiksGarage I have the ARH long tube headers + X pipe kit for my G8 and it had some issues too. Some of the pipes’ ends were bent so they couldn’t slide over each other. Had to get an exhaust pipe expander from harbor freight. Think I’ll be going with kooks for my next LS car’s headers 😂
@@Tanner_Teves unfortunately that's just the reality with aftermarket parts much of the time. Luckily for us, we have the resources and tools to make things work if things aren't lining up. Seems like there is a good chance of running into issues like this regardless of the manufacturer you go with these days.
So for the wiring harness that you plugged into the fuse box, you connected the grey plugs but what about the smaller yellow plugs? I can’t find where they’re supposed to go
If I recall correctly we left those unplugged. We used one connector for power and one for the resistor on either side.
@@AntiksGarage yeah I found out that they plug into the headlights because you can use the led strips as the running lights or you can leave them unplugged and only use them as the parking/low and hi beams
Really good stuff. This channel is going to grow for sure. Keep going!
Thanks very much! We sure hope so!
Very nice!
Thank you!
Great work on this one guys! Very cool!!!!!
Thank you!
I thought about going with a American Racing header kit for my '04 C5 Corvette, but instead went with a Kook's header kit with catted x-pipe and mid pipe . No heating and tweaking was necessary for fitment. It truly literally bolted right up with no modifications needed. $2049 shipped; I like to think I got what I paid for. The entire kit was black Cerakoted at 500°F and left to air cool before installation. American Racing's product line is massive. Kook's makes exhaust components, that's it. I think Kook's products are made in the USA. Not to say that the AR kit is junk by any means, but the fitment looks to have left a lot to be desired. I'm sure everything is fine now, but not many people have a acetylene torch and a welder laying around. If it weren't for that it would of been an R & R for most people. This is the second vid I've seen on YT where the mounting tabs were either welded upside down or they gave the customer two driver's side pipes. Kind of sad since the AR kit for the C6 is over $2000. But it looks like you guys figured it out and it's on and working fine, so thumbs up for that!
Thank you for your comment, it sounds like you got yourself a really nice system! We were very surprised to have the issues we did with this ARH kit. We've installed many of them and this is the first one to come in with those issues. You're right though, if you were doing this at home, you likely would not have the tools we do in order to make everything straight and true. Sometimes that's just the way it goes though, we always expect a certain level of tweaking needed with any aftermarket part.
@@AntiksGarage Thank you for the response! The Kook's kit was installed along with a Michigan Motorsports BTR stage 1 cam kit (223°/230°, .613"/.605", 115° LSA+2° advance). Titanium retainers and dual valve springs. Cheap eBay dual snorkel CAI and cat-back exhaust. HP tune on engine/auto trans. 412hp wheel. Lots of new parts and gaskets all over; 128k mile daily driver. Car sounds like an old school sewing machine hot rod. Great vacuum at idle being 115° LSA and fine with the stock torque converter. The stage 1 kit has since been discontinued by Brian Tooley Racing. That cam is truly one-of-a-kind and there is nothing like it from any manufacture, not with that lift, duration and LSA. People these days want to "parking lot pimp" with lots of CHOP, crappy idle, lots of surging and a tiny power band. My cam pulls hard from start to finish and leaves stock Scat packs in the dust. I know David Vizard likes small LSA's and they have been proven to make more power; 108° LSA. But on my auto C5 with a 3.15 gear diff and stock torque converter the BTR stage 1 cam wins! I have noticed on these C5/C6 exhaust systems, it seems the best bet is to get a complete kit from the same manufacture; instead of headers from one company, a x-pipe from another company, etc.. Having seen some YT vids of hacked up Vette exhaust set-ups with mis-matched components and that "universal" weld-in x-pipe section.
@@mlc7boosted agreed on getting one full kit from the headers to the tips. At the end of the day we recommend what we have had good luck with and also what the customer wants. It sounds like you've got a pretty nice setup in your Corvette. Feel free to send us some pictures if you'd like either on our Instagram at Antiksgarage or our Facebook page and we can post it up as a viewers ride!
@@AntiksGarage Thanks for the invite to post pics! But I don't have FB anymore since my son's mom and I split up years ago, never had IG either. Just this old YT channel with several car audio vids and a couple Gmail accounts. But the car is a clean example I bought from a local car lot a couple years ago. It had 97k miles; kind of high but the car was clean. Shiny torch red paint, both the smoked glass and color match tops. Clean red sport seats, red carpet, red plastic trim like how GM pieces them together. All LED lighting so far except for the DIC and traction control button and rear tail lights. Even with a hyperflash module the car does not like LED front and rear turn signals...without soldering in some resistors on the tail light wiring. So I just left the tail lights halogen for now. Chrome Z06 style wheels with cheap Walmart ZR rated tires. New ATI super damper, new A/C parts, belts and tensioners. Lots of other new parts like Bilstein shocks, tie rods and C6 sway bar end links, HPI diff brace for the heck of it on an auto trans. Over $18k in parts and labor from Viking Automotive Repair in Buford, Ga.. It's like a 20 year old domestic Gran Turismo tourer. Rides smooth, accelerates hard to 150mph plus; after 150mph, I'm ready to let off anyways. Gets looks and some complements. Lots of rev's from Stangs and lots of fast take off's from Dodges. This car makes people want to race. I'm 47 and really just cruise around most days. I guess I was in a mid life crisis and I thought a Vette would make me feel better about myself. It's not really working, but the car 's cool, Lol.
Awesome video great work you guys do
Thanks so much, we really appreciate it!
Nice work boys. Running tight. The condition it was in, couldn't have done better, short of a complete rebuild.
Thank you very much! It's definitely got a lot of 'Get up and Go' now!
I installed a 4-cylinder Toyota diesel engine in my Hummer. At first, I felt regret. After that, I felt the power of this engine. All it needed was just an oil change and an oil filter change, and that’s it.
What an interesting swap, that sounds very cool!
@@AntiksGarage Yes, it is wonderful, but you must also change the gear box because the Hummer H2 gear box does not fit the Toyota engine, in addition to that it needs more modification in the engine seating location in order for it to be . As you know, some modifications must be made to make it suitable, but it is simple, good, and really worth it
@@user-hz6nr9vw9c if you have any pictures you should send them to the Antiks Garage Facebook page and we can post them for our other viewers to see!
A&A utilizes a vortech supercharger not a procharger. Procharger is just a brand on centrifugal supercharger.
That's correct, this is why in the description we have it listed as a Vortech Centrifugal Supercharger. It's more of a semantics thing like Frisbee or Kleenex. It's common to hear a Centrifugal being referred to as a Procharger despite Procharger being a brand but we're saying the same thing.
So much for being a “slip-on” system🤦♂️
It's never as easy as they say it should be 🤷🏽♂️
Nice vid. Our stock C5 lights suck. Looking at having you install Bi-Xenon projector lenses to bring them a couple decades more modern.
A lighting upgrade is a great way to update the look of a car! It's very important to get quality replacement lights, though, as the cheap ones often cause more problems than they're worth.
Ordered my husbands parts with you guys. He is so excited to get the whole system done. Along with rotors, calipers and CAI
We're looking forward to working on it!
The ARH look great. Guess I’ll stick with Corsa for a catback. Great videos gentlemen!

Yeah the stock lights are great, to each their own though! These lights are a nice alternative
Absolutely fascinating watching you guys work your magic. You do maintenance stuff on my C6!

Just curious were the pipes shipped from China... I had a set like that I had to send back, I ordered elsewhere.. They fit perfect ...
We will have to check on that! Not sure exactly where they shipped from. First time we've had an issue like this with one of their setups.
I would send ARH this link.
Good idea
Awesome job guys keep up the great work 👌

Wow, not a kit I would run out to purchase given the required tweaks 😬
We've actually done many of these and this is the first time we have run into issues like this. Usually the kit goes together very well, not sure why this one came to us so messed up

Agreed! Thank you :)
This was an excellent video on an important issue to those who drive at night at a “brisk” pace
We agree completely!
Great Video! I installed these on my 2005 C6 with the help of a seasoned body shop worker, and while everything went back together flawlessly on the body, I cannot get the C8 version to seal the way I expect it to on my car. We positioned and repositioned the modules prior to pointing alignment but in no instance could we get the rubber seals to fully fill the gap between lights and car body that meets factory or my standards (??). Move it one way a gap opens up somewhere else. Not glaringly obvious to the actual oberver, but anyone looknig at the car the way many of us Corvette owners do would not be too impressed with that fit. Did/do you have that problem? Do you hav any ideas how to coreect it. My body-shop friend thought there's likey an aftermarket seal we could apply to bolster the Morimoto rubber seal, but that would mean tearing this whole thing apart again. (Could come to that I guess.). Thanks for your insight.
Thanks so much for your comment! We did have a slight issue with that, you'll notice we pointed out on the driver side light at the end of the video. It is jussst a bit more of a gap than we would like to see. The only way to adjust the light module itself the way you want would be to oval out a little bit of material where the three studs on the bottom fit into the body to be mounted. This will allow you to push the assembly forward slightly to fill the hole better. At the end of the day they're aftermarket and will never fit as perfect as a factory light but you should be able to get it pretty close. Hope this helped and thank you for watching!
@@AntiksGarage Thanks for such a quick reply. I actually watched your video before installation and I suspect I was too excited about the overall puchase to worry about a modest fitment issue 🙂. If it bugs me enough I *may* need to play with the mounting tabs as an alternative to modifying the seal... thanks for that suggestion. All of that said your words were identical to my auto-shop buddy regarding "...they're aftermarket and will never fit as perfect as a factory light..." I added the Vette-lights LED Fog Lamps to my car at the same time... they completely round out the look and make the front look a lot meaner as well... they would/will look great on that Grand Sport as well! Thanks again!
How much did the labor for this costed? Planning on supercharging mine soon
We do not get too involved in the rates, but you are more than welcome to call the shop and speak with the owner Craig at 847-949-8388. Every shop is a little different and every car is a little different, however, we make sure our installs for those are just about the cleanest you can get.
The DRL, and blinker are in a very feminine shape…
Yes, these are C8 style lights but they've contoured them a little to work better with the C6 body lines.
What's the labor cost to do on that vette? Where did those seats from?
We'll have to ask the owner about the seats. As far as the labor goes, getting the hinges on is easy but the real time consuming part is making sure everything lines up and the doors open and close properly without hanging up on anything. That is where the labor cost varies as every car is different but it is not a cheap job if you want it to look factory.
@@AntiksGarage typical mechanic, refuses to answer the question.
@@applejacks971 there is no set labor cost on a project like this due to all the custom modification which will vary from car to car so that is why we can't give you a firm number
Did mine without pulling the bumper off , just take the bolts off the fenders in the engine bay and the top row of screws on bumper the front row of clips on the wheel splash guards and you have access to everything.
Yes we have seen a few methods where you do not need to remove the bumper. We can remove it so quickly that it just made more sense to take it off to give full unrestricted access to everything.
What wires to use to install the resistor?
The lights come with ballast resistors and they plug into the factory wiring.
Looks sweet!
Agreed!
Really cool and innovative installation on your part. I wouldn’t do it on my Vette but it absolutely looks cool. A job really well done!👍
Thank you very much, we appreciate your support!
I like the stock lights too but they are hot garbage as lights you might as well have two candles up there for the amount of visibility that you get with them. These lights look sick and are supposed to be much brighter so it's a win win but your pockets take an L..
Well said. The stock lights have a great look but these are MUCH brighter and better. They are pretty expensive, you're right, so I guess you really just have to weigh that yourself and decide if they're worth it for you.
Can I put these on my Miata?
You can sure try! We are not responsible for any issues you may come across though.
So... what brand is the kit?
This particular Kit is from Vertical Doors, Inc.
Great video, thanks! Can a slender person get out of the car before swinging it upwards?
Thank you! Yes, but it's not the most graceful motion getting out that way.
