First episodes of the new year are always exciting and this one is no exception! This is a very in depth conversation with an interesting artist who describes, in this episode, what kind of music and art he was exposed to basically since birth and how that must have colored his sonic palette to help him create some of the dark and foreboding textures he uses in his band, Haunted Horses. Their music is characterized by its dissonant, heavy textures and ominous vocals, which makes sense when you bump them up against an album like Nico's 1970 album, Desertshore. So Colin and I dive deep into the history and background of the beautiful yet dark and strange Nico to try to find what about this album helped to shape a portion of how Colin sees music.
