Welcome to Chris Philpot's personal UA-cam channel.
This loosely organised cupboard of clips contains home movies, academic projects and TV programmes. Most of these videos were uploaded during my teens, and with hindsight they are frightfully embarrassing. But, they bring back lots of great memories!
You can watch my newer videos by visiting my second channel, also called 'Chris Philpot', via the Featured Channels box on this page.

This is the final part of the making of documentary which followed the production of the first series of the British television programme Robot Wars; this particular show hasn't been seen since it was originally broadcast on New Years Eve 1998. In this concluding part, Jeremy Clarkson watches over the grand final - see it come together from the studio gallery. Roadblock or Bodyhammer: which wil...

This is part two of three from the behind the scenes documentary about the making of series 1 of the British TV show Robot Wars, originally shown on New Years Eve 1998. Pioneering roboteers including Rex Garrod and Cairon Byrne, a.k.a. Dr. Zulu, introduce us to some of the machines which would battle it out under the watch of original host Jeremy Clarkson. The Making of Robot Wars, Part 1

Originally broadcast on New Years Eve 1998 and introduced by Mark Lamarr, this is an exclusive behind the scenes documentary about the making of the inaugural series of the British television programme Robot Wars. You'll get to meet the original roboteers and see their video diaries - trivia buffs will note that in the home video of series champion Roadblock, the robot is adorned with its origi...
Bitsa - Episode 1, Part 2
Переглядів 8 тис.15 років тому
As a child I loved the Children's BBC art programme 'Bitsa', and my Dad recorded several episodes from the final series on VHS so that I could watch again them when the show wasn't on the air. When the tape re-emerged recently, I digitised a few so that I could share them with fellow nostalgia buffs on UA-cam. This is the part two of two from the first episode of the final series of Bitsa, film...

Along with best friend Jim (Emmanuel Jatto), Graham discovers that sometimes your dreams don't play out as you'd hope. Ominous Thoughts is a ten-minute short film directed by Tyrone Grosvenor. It stars Jo...
Philpot in Chris Moyles' Studio at BBC Radio 1
Переглядів 7 тис.16 років тому
A video from my visit to the BBC Radio 1 building in London where I had a go on probably the world's most advanced mixing desk, as used by the "saviour of Radio 1" himself, Chris Moyles. Best of all, I recorded my own edition of 'Car Park Catchphrase' with the one and only Mr. Roy Walker! It was an absolutely fantastic experience.
Pens Down - AS-Level Film Studies Project
Переглядів 45216 років тому
From Ferris Bueller to Mean Girls, the high school experience is a staple of American cinema. For this AS-Level Film Studies project, I ferried the format across the Atlantic and made a British teen movie opening. Of course, this meant trading jocks and nerds for a few stereotypes of our own! Thanks to everyone who supported this project.
Philpot: Buried Alive!

Yet more public humiliation for your genial UA-camr, this time buried beneath the pebbles of Brighton beach. This video features photos of my slow disappearance, and footage of my rather faster emergence from my gravelly grave.
Messing About on the Pond… | Jo's Picnic

Laura provided us with so much silliness on camera that she was just crying out for a video all of her own.
Dizzy Spells - The Spinning Broom Game | Jo's Picnic
Переглядів 1,7 тис.17 років тому
The day included a heck of a lot of spinning on the spot, presented here for your amusement. It was nauseating, though perhaps less so than some of my shoddy camerawork.
Easter Egg Hunt | Jo's Picnic

An all but unedited clip of the Easter egg hunt at Jo's - since she organised it and hence hid the eggs she couldn't participate and instead took on the role of nauseating camera operator as we dashed around.

9:28 why does it say presented by Craig Charles, its Clarkson in this series
Broadcast on 3 February 2004
A young looking chris reynolds cool
did anyone ever notice they censored the word "loo rolls" from the theme tune of later series of Bitsa?
Obligatory "Hello You!"
@@BooshmanLee howdy!!! :D
Shame their transit is long gone now. I remember seeing it in Bristol.
6:52 so 90's hahahaha. Great days
@8:22 Matilda had pneumatic tusks here, even if the tusks move slow. Jonathan Piece says she has hydraulic tusks.
I loved this
Great program! Before forced diversity and woke snowflakes ruined everything!
ahh, the good old days, where 2mm steel was easily enough protection ='D
Thank you! I loved this show! Thanks to your dad too!
Good old days. It was amazing what you could make with toilet roll and other things back then
This was my favourite programme. Anarchy art love it!
I loved RW when I was a kid. Always preferred it more when it was various challenges rather than the pure combat. Also, real Matilda is chainsaw Matilda. Guess the flywheel was better but the chainsaw looked cool.
Weird load on the bitsa truck bumper. XD
27th January 2004
I see now why Sargent Bash lost his saw
wait the pointy scoop is the front of shunt WAT
Episode 3770 (on 03/02/04).
Hands is a freak.
This confirms that the snow plough is the front of Shunt and not the back.
was they changed it though the other series
I used to love this been trying to find it for ages :) thanks for the upload!
I remember Nosey! Oh my I loved this show!
Robot Wars was on Sky One?
WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS?! CAN YOU UPLOAD THE WHOLE EPISODE PLEASE, BECAUSE IF YOU DO I WILL BE TOTALLY DELIGHTED!
Hands singing madness. :D
bloody hell I remember this back when it was aired, hell I swear I have it on VHS somewhere
Thanks for this! Loved Bitsa!!
The two biker people are my mum and dad when they were younger so embarrassing lol
Ella Evans Cool parents! I loved Bitsa as a kid, I was a teen when it aired from '91 to '96 and like Skawashers says it was groundbreaking to see the so called 'alternative society' on CBBC instead of being criticised on the news!
Ella Evans Are Simon and Caitlin your mum and dad thrn?
with strings and things and LOO ROLLS and glue
Nice
Yes. Exactly my thoughts.
0:32 Come and see the best robots, come and see the house robots. They haven't seen Razer yet
Jacob92W They apparently showed extended footage of it (the UK Open Championship) on "Robot Wars: The First Great War" which is available on UA-cam.
They actually aired this on Challenge this morning - was quite nice to see what went into the show :)
The major irony is that Sgt Bash was a petrol engine.
That's the first time I've seen an Bitsa episode were only one kid says 'It's a Bitsa'. LOL
Hated vista
Totally agree. Dave recently brought Red Dwarf back to the screen, why can't they do the same with this?
I preferred the Dave Benson Philips theme myself but an awesome show nonetheless! The amount of things I made as a consequence of this show...
does the original 1995 pilot of robot wars still exist anywhere?
Why did those hippies ruin those bikes!
same :)
I watched almost every episodes of Robot Wars and i always wanted to build a robot and compete on Robot Wars... Mostly for fun not competition.
they have
RW ended in 2004, actually.
They sure as hell don't make 'em like this anymore!
i forget too, some stupid name anyway
Now that name takes me back - Big Bad Ron or Big Bug Ron (or similar, it was a while ago) from the PAFS? Good to hear from you!
Just noticed the name on this. Alright Crispy.
Is it just me or is Fern Cotton playing the female biker
lol no thats my mum
Still had the 3 min chaos as earlier years
