I feel like the caller is conflating being in a gay relationship with being gay in society because maybe being gay in a relationship is easier because of similar mindsets of the same sexes but also it's not easy because we have grown with a heteronormative lens on the society gender roles though not good when assumed and not discussed are genuinely a good thing because then people in the relationship get a basic structure of what they're supposed to do in their day to day or decision making or crisis, etc. So really its not upto some "straight" guy's belief whether or not its easy because they have their own set of difficulties that are very different than what straight couples face. Having said that gay people are very complex, a lesbian relationship between two women is going to be extremely different than a gay male one and it's stupid to generalize all gays have it easy. Maybe the dude just loves his homies and wants to send all their time together, he should actually try it he should try being gay and see if he likes it and then he can choose to be straight or gay (his apparent belief not mine) I found it so funny that he talked about one thing that is being gay is easy (in relationship setting) and gave reasons and made up examples for it but then in the same breath said i don't think at the macro level being gay is hard as well. Great 👍 Also gays have all the rights now they don't need to worry, bro... trump is gonna stuff more of his puppets in the supreme court and then they are going to overturn the rights that were given. Thats their strategy literally the supreme court judges who dissented in the overturning of roe vs. wade said in a written document and this ruling is going to set precedent for far more progressive laws being overturned in the future. And the right really wants to take away dont say gay bill from the us military thats all they talk about now that roe is gone that will also be gone and soon they'll come for others as well anyone who is not a white christian nationalist will be targeted.

I feel so bad for the second caller. It's such a weird situation though. The parents weren't really religious to begin with and suddenly they're all "you must marry a Jewish person"??? I’m not sure what’s happening here and feel annoyed and angry and confused because they’re not really giving people the opportunity to see behind the curtain to understand these two different perspectives their arguing with each other and I don’t feel experienced or understanding to why these people feel the way they do. All I see is they’re distressed about an issue and making me feel out of the loop and either they’re unaware of that or the vibe I have gotten is they are but are purposefully making me feel that way. In that way I don’t feel included and judged before I even understand. I’ve dealt with people like this I know personally online announcing their stances on things and I just don’t even understand them at all. It’s not that I am against them which I feel perhaps is what people think, but I don’t have the opportunity to even just understand what’s going on. I am sensitive to maybe some people not feeling it’s their job to explain, which moreso comes from feeling like I’m going to do some unforgivable if I push/ask and don’t understand their reasoning behind that either but I do still tend to go along. I just get upset when I’m left in the dark and then left behind and I’m blindsided because they’ve drawn some conclusion about me that would understandably make anyone feel attacked IMO. So I am not sure what to make of this video. It annoys me, and I feel annoyed also because in the past I have been made to feel like I can’t say that. Is it a test of some kind? Or perhaps the lesson here is that this video is not a lesson to help people understand other people’s perspectives but for the people who are connected to these people someway somehow can learn to like how to deal with those who are perceivable against them?

He might as well have just said, "Gay men have it SO easy because they don't have to date women!" I am reminded of the "Am I a Lesbian?" masterdoc which is a good opening to the conversation about CompHet, or Compulsory Heterosexuality. There is also the unfortunate issue of the right-wing belief in severe, cut-and-dry, "biological" gender roles. Some men genuinely struggle to stop seeing women as an alien species that is supposed to just give them kids and clean their house. Sexism hurts everyone, even men.

I think the bigot had a point relating to gay relationships. Outside social influences gay relationships should be easier, given the many shared interests gay men have. However with homophobia that alot of us internalise well it's not as easy as he would imagine. To support his point, there seems to be a clear gender war. Take the social media echo chamber of the manosphere and how those spaces are understandably but quite still quite harshly viewed by those outside of it ( which cuz of cognitive dissonance only makes red pillers cling more to those spaces).

How do you discipline a baby? If a toddler starts screaming in a restaurant then yes, make your boundaries and expectations loud and clear and tell them it’s not acceptable to ruin other people’s dinner. They can be frustrated but if it’s going to continue we leave. And handing over an iPad is lazy and permissive because a tantrum is an opportunity to teach. But a baby…. They don’t know how to do anything other than cry if something is wrong and quite simply they are allowed to exist. If they are wet, hungry, have sore teeth - crying is the only way they can communicate. you absolute witches lol.

Random trans person here. I didn't choose to be trans, it just happened. If I didn't realize and affirm my gender with clothes, estrogen, etc., I wouldn't be here today. Also Gay people have been barred from the military and donating blood, couldn't get married until 9 years ago, can be denied services from a business, can be denied adoptions from private agencies, and more. None of that sounds easy to me
