Primarily just hoping I'm audible and not too scattered! Thanks for taking the time to check out my flosstube. If I ever do this again I promise to look at the camera more! Instagram: kateys_crossstitch Projects mentioned: - Game of Gnomes by SodaStitch on 16 count fiddlers cloth -Christmas Village Sampler by ZanderPrint on 16 count in blue raven by ToDyeForFabrics -Provocative Girl by OhWowSti...
So fun to see you again! Beautiful stitchy finish on the Lola Crow piece, and I loved your book recommendations! Radium Girls was a crazy story, I agree - glad you enjoyed it! I hope you're having a great week! Happy stitching 💜
Thank you! I can't wait to get it in a frame. Radium girls was heartbreaking to me but it was done soo well to give them voices. Have a great week as well! 💜
Hi from the cap region! 🤗Awesome projects!! I read a few decent books lately...they r more psych thriller type and very descriptive so idk if u like those types of books, but one was the mountain king by anders Dela motte and a ya book under this red rock by Mindy mcginnis. Lately I've been reading alot of books that end up tickin me off in the end cuz they seem so good then end horribly 😂, but those books were pretty good! I'm I'm a little slump as far as finding the right books that really stick w me after if that makes sense lolol Happy stitching!🐈⬛🪡❤️
I appreciate the recommendations! I will definitely check them out! Haha and I always appreciate when they've been vetted before hand to save myself from a terrible ending. 💜
@kateys_crossstitch oo and echo man by Sam Holland was pretty good and apparently now there is a second book lolol. Currently reading the Angelica Henley series by Nadine Matherson I think her name is...or Masterson? Either way...they're pretty good. Very descriptive which makes the books longer (which I noticed alot w overseas authors) but I'm enjoying em nonetheless!
@@kateys_crossstitch don't ever read very bad company. horrible book 😂😂
Lovely to see you back again! Love your wips! You’ve been so busy but sounds lots of fun. I’d love to go to Salem. I’m currently reading uncanny. There’s also a podcast of it too if you listen to those and like ghost stuff. We have a tv series of it too over here in the uk and I’m obsessed. The guy has done an American series of the podcast. Can’t wait for your next video ❤️
Thank you 💜 I will have to check it out! Salem was amazing. It wasn't too busy because we went so early in the season but still close enough to Autumn for me. I think we'll have to make it a yearly trip
Ninth House is so divisive! It’s interesting to me how some people love it and some people struggle to slog through it. I can’t even put my finger on why, but I absolutely loved it and enjoyed it even more when I reread it and was able to follow the time jumps better.
That's so funny. I have already shelved it again. I don't know what it is I just cannot get into it. I love that you read it a second time and I've tried three times and can't make it to the halfway point 🤦🏻♀️
I'm reading Radium Girls now and I have Dead Mountain on my TBR list. I love your finished poison seed packets.
Radium girls is so good! I hope you're enjoying! And thank you! I can't wait to get them in frames!
Great video. I liked hearing about all your adventures and I found your book talk interesting.
💜thanks! Wasn't sure if it would be obnoxious but it would have been a SHORT video without it
Your WIPs and finishes are beautiful. Awesome video
Thank you!! 💜
You've been a busy girl! I'm surprised you've had enough time to get any stitching done - but everything looks fabulous!
Haha not as much as I'd like but I always try to squeeze some in 💜
I’m with you on Ninth House. I finished it but I thought it was just okay.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm probably going to give up. Cackle just became available on Libby and I'm over forcing myself to listen to Ninth House
Your Unicorn’s Garden looks so good on that fabric! Glad everyone has made a full recovery, and that you’re having a lovely (almost) autumn. Enjoy your travel adventures, and happy stitching. Oh- and I loved Radium Girls. Fascinating, sad… so many feels, but super interesting for sure.
Thank you so much! I'm really loving working on it. We've been enjoying our travels so far. Radium girls was SO good! (The movie was not so good if you haven't watched it yet 😅)
You did great for your first floss tube. You’ve got some nice wips as well. Love the pups chillin out…Hi from Arkansas.
Hi there! I was very nervous. Thanks for stopping by! 💜
Great flosstube!
Thank you! 💜
Cross stitch and dogs. My happy place! Great job!
Very much mine too 💜
Welcome!
Thank you! 💜
I love Night Walked Down so much! It's so cool that you're choosing the colors as you go, and I can't wait to see The Unicorn's Garden! If I ever stitch the same pattern twice, it would be that one.
It was a completely accidental choice to stitch what I want so I hope it turns out okay 😂 I LOVED your unicorns garden finish and I cannot stop working on it
1:39 my first impression…you like the number 2. Two kids, two cats, two dogs, stitching for two years 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha I guess I do! One dog and both cats were all one child's influence (or smuggling in 😂) so affinity for the number is just from her! Thanks for watching! 💜
😂
great first video, congrats on your video😊
Thank you so much for taking the time! 💜
Love the dogs and love your wips! Cool first video!
They really are the best part 😂 thank you for watching! 💜
I loved your first floss tube. I look forward to seeing more.
Thank you so much for taking the time! 💜
I often start with a hoop start and then switch to pulling the thread under other stitches and then continuing that way(hope that made sense...lol...sorry)
It did! I found someone who showed how to do a loop start with one thread and it opened up a whole new door! 😂
Great projects! And sleepy puppies in every video please <3
Aww thank you! 💜 And they probably will be. They just paw at the door when I love them out 🤣
Great first video! Looking forward to seeing more! ❤
Thanks for watching! 💜
Well done on your first Flosstube 🎉 Just loved seeing all of your projects and of course your hype crew in the background 🐶🫶🏻
Haha they weren't very hyped up, they prefer to use my bags as pillows 🥹💜thank you for watching!
@@kateys_crossstitch We shall call them the ‘Emotional Support Crew’ instead 🤣🤣🤣 My boy loves lying all over my cross stitch stuff too 😅
@@bronwynmalone8531 haha they're very good with the support. They are used to laying around listening to me talk to myself for work all day so this was nothing for them.
Came over from an Instagram recommendation. Great first video! I also had to go back and pause on the bag because I thought it was Christmas too 😂
Thank you taking the time! I had that bag for almost a year before my girlfriend pointed out it was Little Red Ridinghood! Thankfully she bought me the Christmas bag so it was a good exchange 🤣
you did amazing and i cannot wait to follow along on your journey 💖✨
Thank you!💜 It wasn't any less awkward than I thought 🤣
Hi Katey! Welcome to flosstube! I am a Nurse and I also work from home 🙂 Night Walked Down looks amazing - love that you are pulling colors as you go. Hope to see you again! Great job! Happy Stitching!
Hi there! Thank you for stopping by! Working from home as a nurse is a totally different experience, huh? I hope I like Night Walked Down done and I'm not making a mess of it 😅
Welcome to flosstube Community !!! Awesome WIPs ! 🎉🎉🎉 puppies are soooooo adorable 🥰 looking forward for your future videos ! You can add felt to the back of the pattern and sew it to a jacket 🧥 I’ve seen people do that !
Thank you! 💜 I'll have to do something! I don't want it just sitting in my house haha everyone needs to see her!
The first video is the hardest, but you did great! Can't wait for the next one! 😍 Provocative Girl is BEYOND amazing.
Thank you so much! She's my favorite. I can't wait to finish it. Such an easy (though long) stitch 💜
Welcome to Flosstube, I loved seeing all your projects!! My ears perked up when you said upstate NY, I’m originally from Rochester, but I live down in Lexington, KY now. I loved the Buick piece. My dad is a big Buick Riviera fan, and we actually just went to a Riviera car show this weekend here in Lex. I’m hoping to make/find a Riviera-related pattern that I can stitch for him.
I'm about 2 hours east of Rochester. I was just in the area two weekends ago for a concert though! My partner has a Buick Skylark!- I'll be VERY happy when the Buick piece is done. It's an easy stitch but the huge swatches of color is just so monotonous. 😅
Don't give up on the Christmas village sampler. It is really pretty and on beautiful fabric. I have a project I recently began working on again after 10 years in the corner. Through moving I had lost the pattern and threads. After I found the pattern again I had to go through to find out where I was so I could continue .
I love the pattern! It's just frustrating wanting to pull it out and work on it and having to make head and tails of past Kaitlin 🤣 I'll definitely give it another go this season.
So glad you joined Flosstube! I would like to say that it gets less scary to film and post videos, but I’m definitely not there yet. 😂
Thank you! 💜 And you do an incredible job at hiding it I assure you!
This was so great! Bravo to you for taking the plunge 👏 Loved seeing all your projects - some really beautiful things 😍
Thank you so much! Nerve racking for sure but glad I did. Thank you for checking it out! ♥️
Welcome to flosstube! Absolutely loved your video and all your projects! I can’t believe you’ve only been stitching 2 years. Can’t wait to see more! 🥰🖤
Thank you so much! Everyone's been so kind- will absolutely be doing more 💜
Welcome to the community! Love your projects! Margins, pft! You should see some of mine!! Lol x
Ha that's a future Kaitlin problem. I'm just going to keep plugging away! And thank you 🥰
Hi there! You have some really beautiful wips! Looking forward to your next video! Happy stitching ♥️
♥️thank you so much!
Yay! So glad you started a flosstube! ❤🎉
Haha thank you! ♥️ It was not without heavily working myself up to it
Nice to have you here. I am in Upstate.NY as well. Have been stitching for 35 years. My daughter is a nurse as well. Looking forward to more
35 years is incredible! I'm sure you've got quite a number of beautiful projects under your belt! Thank you for taking the time to watch ♥️
If that linen isn’t serving you for Vanity Sampler, totally restart it on some aida! Your stitches look great 🥰 So happy you made a flosstube, I think I was subscriber #2 🎉
♥️thank you! I probably will. The deeper I get into it the more I realize I can't count. Thanks for watching 🫣
