Those sundews look beautifull, btw what is the species or hybrid of your nepenthes?(it looks amazing)
It is (Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis) x Rokko!
@@australiancarnivores ok thx
The smell must be horrendous there
It was actually very pleasant
General question: would you rather buy smaller (but cheaper) nepenthes specimens or save your money towards larger plants? Looking to get into neps at the moment. Cheers from the US!
Nice! The problem here is there aren't any large plants for sale, anywhere. So you either have to wait for the twice a year exotica plants release or buy small plants
@@australiancarnivores Oh that makes sense. Are the exotica releases bigger specimens than normal?
@@noahlee9099 Yes! Watch my unboxing vid of them
Any tips on growing nepenthes specifically in Australia. I notice you just keep them under that shade, is it good for them in the Australian environment to be sitting under shade with bright late. Also what potting medium do you use here in Aus.
I use sphagnum, perlite and sometimes orchid bark. You have to keep them in shade as the sun will burn their leaves
@@australiancarnivores Awesome. Another question. What nurseries do you shop from here in Australia, I’ve heard you talk about Exotica? Was wondering if you had ever shopped from Gotcha Plants, they have some really well priced Neps and was wondering if they were legit
@@keeganfay6737 They are legit! Other shops are pitchernmoss and carnivaro
@@australiancarnivores Cool, thanks. Do you fertilise any of your plants also ? I read on Triffid Park they use Seasol and Powerfeed but not sure if it’s necessary
@@keeganfay6737 I don't bother with fertilising haha
Hey brother, Do you use the Brunnings brand sphagnum and peat ? Great to see someone from Australia making videos . Hard to find info living here down under
Haha yes! Most if not all my supplies are from Bunnings.
Nice one
HI JACOBBBB
Still envy you, wintertime and all the nepenthes are outside and most of them are pitchering
Yes haha
Can you please give me care information on the Cave Huntsman? I want to expand my Huntsman collection, I only have a Heteropoda davidbowie. Are they legal in the Northeastern US?
Sorry you can't get them outside of Australia
Oh :(
@@Apex2301 Just as sad as how we can't keep any colourful tarantulas or new worlds
Yeah..
Is what it is I guess.
How do care for them? I heard they need water that has no minerals or anything, like rainwater and they need prey once every month
I just give them tap water and leave them outside without feeding - this was an exception. No special care needed
Okay, thanks a lot
That's so cool! A very cute pet!
Thanks! It's actually my friend's - @JohnWechsler1
Nice!!
Shout out!
Yes!!!
Very nice plants!! Hope you get more soon!
Will have to wait until spring until they all start growing more haha
What kind of nepenthes is that?it looks cool
It's a hybrid - Ventricosa x Jaqcuelineae
Mines are dying in September
Seasons are reversed in America, I'm in Australia
Selling any of these
No not yet, but a good website is pitchernmoss.com.au
That’s a nice looking Flytrap
Thanks!
I really like how you put music in this one
Thanks!
why your sayin interesting
Your spelling is interesting haha. What are you trying to say anyway?
That's a cool spider!
Thanks!
I know it's a little late but thank you for the SHOUT OUT! And no I have no content but I will try one day but I don't have much carnivorous plants😅 Nepenthes Ventricosa x Lowii and Nepenthes Gaya and also a Akai Ryu VFT and a sarracenia purpurea and a Sarracenia Purpurea Venosa burkii x Ember from California carnivores and 3 typical VFT!
I hadn't noticed at the time of filming, but thanks for 600 subscribers!
Bro needs to go on a diet
are you as cute as you sound with that great aussie accent...i love the Australian reptile park been there several times....tell tim scott said hi mate
Or is it Nepenthes Ventricosa Red x Lavicola??
YES!!!
@@australiancarnivores LES GOOOO
@@erielrios Shoutout in next vid (fireback huntsman unboxing tomorrow or Friday)
Shoutout is at the end of the next video!
He / she looks like a nice size T.
Ohhh wait I think it's Nepenthes Ventricosa Red x Truncata!
I already have one of them haha
Nepenthes Ventricosa Red x Vetchii or Robcantleyi??
No, it starts with a L
“Isn’t as impressive” … lol I’m sure by now you’ve seen the Truncata freshly open with those bright candy stripes! And of course That Truncata x neb is incredible !! Very nice!!
Haha
Incredible plants, and this guide is nice and concise. Good stuff
Thanks!
It's Nepenthes Ventricosa (Red) x ___________ The winner gets a shoutout in the next video!!!
Hi. I tried to join your dis cord server that was linked on your profile, but it says the invite expired when I do?
Hey bro when are you gonna give another video? Love the channel. From QLD
Probably next weekend or when my net spider arrives
My friend John's channel: www.youtube.com/@JohnWechsler1
is this from BE?
No, Exotica Plants :)
Nice video, But I would leave all the leaves on the Sarracenia. I only cut all of them of early spring if I see new leaves evolve. But they do need dormancy, how do you do that in Australia?
By cutting the leaves off in winter
Your videos are so relaxing to watch, and I appreciate that a lot because my life can be hectic quite often. I just recently got into taking care of plants and want to get into the carnivorous ones but just haven't been able to yet. Hope your channel blows up! You deserve it!
Thanks so much!
I got a new Nephethes Alata , with the current weather in Sydney. I keep it indoors at night and outdoors in day time. Any tips for that plant”S survival
@@sravankumar4550 It should survive fine and if its struggling check out my care videos
Spider burrow!!
Haha thanks!
bro can u pls tell what kind of drosera on 2nd bog. why the flower look like a sarracenia?
It's capensis and the reason why the flowers look like that is because there are sarracenias in there that don't have pitchers yet
@@australiancarnivores ohhnow its make sense. i was think that was drosera flower
San ka po nag order?
Damn that’s an impressive spider! Great setup you’ve got there too.
Thanks! It seems you're a regular watcher of my channel now haha
Next you'll make a reaction video to one of my unboxings lol
I think it turned out really good the only thing you have to watch is if she tries to climb her feet could get stuck in the air holes and it could also dry out really easy I see happen to offer but still great work
No she's too big for that definitely! Her legs are quite thick, almost 3 times as thick as the ventilation. And I also don't want any mould, believe it or not I had a mould infestation in this same enclosure with my Selenotypus species, and I had to move her to a different enclosure. By the way, you can go check out the unboxing video now as the spider came today!
@@australiancarnivores oh sweet that’s great news then
We are sooo close to 550 subscribers! Massive plant cleanup video coming out soon...
Finally got a nepenthes copelandii
I also just noticed my finger got caught in one of the pitchers in the middle of the video 🤣
Hey. Keep up the videos I've just started with 2 up NQLD. Do you cut off dried pitchers ? Or just let them go on their own? Thanks for the vids another sub
@@guidingdads Just depends on what you like and don't like looking at. I cut them off when I can but some people say that it benefits the plant to let it dry out completely. I think it looks ugly though, but its your plant!
Looks like an interesting place! Drove past it a while ago, but never went in.
Thanks! I'm a big fan of your channel and am keeping Australian tarantulas now
Another shoutout!
Haha no probs
It is such a shame that we cannot import T's . There are so many species out there for hobbyists. .
Yes, but there are biosecurity risks - you actually have to incinerate anything that goes into the tarantula room except yourself if you want to take it out
@@australiancarnivores I understand . Because we have had too many invasive species already in this country . From pigs to goats to camels ,deer , cane toads European wasp and the latest the Fire Ant .
@@katherinekoza6536 Yeah all it would take is a couple signs to escape and then you'd have the same issue as with cane toads
Cool first
