Denathor isnt a bad guy either, he was portrayed poorly in the movies. In the books he was battling Sauron who was trying to Dominate him

The live-action 'The Hobbit' film trilogy doesn't deserve the hate it gets at all! The biggest problem with it is the forced "Kili and Tauriel" thing. If the dwarves had been held captive by the wood elves for 2 weeks, like in the book and the animated film, as opposed to however many hours, it would have made sense for Kili and Tauriel to have developed romantic feelings for one another. People complain about other story elements in the live-action film trilogy that weren't in the book, but some of those added story elements, those being the story elements involving Gandalf & Radagast's sidequests, and the White Council confronting the Necromancer(AKA Sauron) at Dol Guldur, actually weren't made up for the live-action film trilogy, but were pulled from the appendices of the book 'The Lord of The Rings'[1954]. JRR Tolkein wrote said story elements to explain why Gandalf kept leaving Bilbo and the 13 dwarves in 'The Hobbit'[1937], and it's surprising that he never added them into the book 'The Hobbit'[1937] for future printings of it. Even if those story elements weren't part of the original Arda Legendarium created by JRR Tolkein, their presence in the live-action 'The Hobbit' film trilogy would be very welcome, as without them, Gandalf comes off as a douche for repeatedly leaving Bilbo and the 13 dwarves when they could(and, as we know, they do) find themselves in dangerous situations again. People also complain that the live-action film trilogy isn't lighter in tone and that it's epic in scale, which is dumb because we're talking about a story in which a group of characters go on a quest to take back a stolen home & stolen treasure from an evil fire-breathing dragon with human-level intelligence, said characters find themselves in perilous situations, including an encounter with said dragon, and there's a grand battle between 5 armies via which some of the major characters die. Should the live-action film trilogy have had some additional lighthearted moments involving Bilbo and the 13 dwarves? Absolutely. But, people act like these films don't have any lighthearted moments when that simply isn't true. Also, turning an 8-hour-long book into a single film or even 2 films wouldn't have done the story enough justice. It's bad enough that there are 3 'The Lord of The Rings' films when there should be 6. I have never read 'The Hobbit'[1937] or 'The Lord of The Rings'[1954], but I know that with the live-action 'The Lord of The Rings' film trilogy, they had to cut out a significant amount of stuff from the book, even with the overly long extended cuts of the films.

feel like it’s hard to get people on dark it’s not at a good place to get new players into it crypts takes too long to do bossing with them along with non paid accounts being at a huge disadvantage with not being able to make kits so pretty much all you can do with new players is goblin caves bosses

I wouldn't say Boromir had done the most to fight Sauron (of people living at the time). Gandalf, Saruman, Galadriel, and Celeborn had worked for thousands of years to strengthen the free peoples. Aragorn had led the Rangers of the North for decades. Gandalf returned Erebor to dwarven control and prevented Smaug and Sauron from forming an alliance. Dáin II did a lot. Galadriel's leadership of Lothlórien involved significant military conflict and significantly impeded Sauron's armies. The wars in the East and South by their own free people to free their lands from Sauron made the War of the Ring look like a minor conflict (though they were stretched across centuries and a _massive_ area, but still). But in the West, in terms of leading armies on the frontlines, it does probably go to Boromir, Aragorn, or Dáin.

Boromir's whole story is about Redemption. He embodies Gandalf's viewpoint about "doing the most with time given to us"... and Sean Ben is perfect in the role

Boromir, son of the mad steward Denethor was very arrogant, blind, sceptical, but died a great warrior.

⁠I think Boromir encapsulated incredibly by the great Sean Bean is one of the best portrayed characters in the entire trilogy. He is a strong, heroic and yet flawed character who shows great compassion for the hobbits (such as after Moria and fighting the numerous Uruk-Hai sacrificing his life to save Merry and Pippin) and fearlessly advocates for and admires his home, his death being one of the most catalytic events to convince Aragorn to become who he is truly destined to be. Fascinatingly, it is fear and despair which causes him to try and take the ring from Frodo, not greed. This is seen in small parts and moments, such as after the canoes land and he gives a slightly desperate sigh, until they reach Lorien and he cannot face Galadriel’s piercing gaze as she tests the Fellowship. He speaks of what could happen if Frodo should fail, and in the end Frodo does fall to the ring save for Sam being there with him and Gollum’s hand in destroying the ring, bringing Frodo and Bilbo’s mercy in sparing the fiend to a very satisfying conclusion. This is just but one reason why this trilogy and books are timeless works of literature and film art.

THANK YOU! Refreshing to see someone who understands the true character of Boromir. Flawed, certainly, but he had the burden of leadership placed on him since childhood. How many others could carry that without making some HUGE mistakes? He was not a villain, as some would make him out to be. He was human, and if you look in a mirror sometimes, you might notice those characteristics, too. Boromir was a reminder to Aragorn of what was at stake, and the true nature of the commitment to be King.

THANK YOU. It annoys me so much how LOTR purists go on and on that the Hobbit trilogy is _hOT gARbAge_ -- _just_ because it's not the same as LOTR. It didn't HAVE to be LOTR. _It's _based_ off a _children's book!_ They aren't perfect, for sure, sure I wish they'd used less green screen, and sure everyone wishes that the production had been a little less rushed... but these are still _good films._ In fact, I sometimes put them on _instead_ of LOTR, when I feel like watching a cozier, warmer, more funny, less serious version of LOTR. Because _that's what it is._ LOTR is a masterpiece, but it's also very self-serious and grandiose and noble and sad. When you want beautiful high fantasy that's _funnier_ and more lighthearted than that, The Hobbit is _perfect._ The Hobbit was not _supposed_ to be as serious and grandiose and monolithic as LOTR. It's a _fun, more lighthearted adventure story._ And it's not wrong or lesser for being that. It makes me SMILE more, and I love that! They are just a happier, dreamier LOTR. And people saying that these movies are TRASH because they don't like the _motives_ of the _producers_ is as dumb as completely writing off _any_ great art or artist because you don't like something about them _personally._ Like how a lot of people say they "HATE" Taylor Swift with a burning passion because they think she's vapid as a person, or has had too many boyfriends. The fact is, she _has_ written some great songs that people love! And I'm not even a Swiftie! I can just recognize when someone makes some _good art,_ whatever their motives were. And by the way, MONEY IS NOT IN ITSELF A BAD MOTIVE. The Hobbit movies are _good art,_ even if a hater doesn't like that they added an extra couple characters or used too much green screen.
