I could have bought one of those for $1,600. The store I was in was going to stop carrying Steinberger because they weren't selling very well. The manager said the bass was good and I could get it for next to nothing. I didn't realize how good of a deal it was so I passed on it. As far as I know, I don't think Steinberger makes gear in the U.S.A anymore. The only Steinbergers I see are the "Spirit" line and those are from Asia. But that "Synapse" model is a high end U.S.A. made bass. Those go for over $4,000 on Reverb.
