I love your fabric choice, very pretty! With regards to your issues with the pattern… any home sewer will be lucky if they find a pattern that fits them exactly, I think it’s pretty rare. That’s why people make muslin mock-ups, or even pin the pattern around themselves to check the fit before they cut and sew. It’s also why there are so many adjustment videos on UA-cam. These videos are made by generous people who want to share their knowledge and skills with home sewers so that they can make alterations to patterns so that the finished item will fit their body. Personally I would search for videos to correct those two issues you had with the pattern. It is extra work to make a mock up first, or to check the pattern first, but it can save you grief and money in the end. I hope you can find a solution to your issues, it’s really pretty on you! 😍

at 2:06 i observe you had doubled the ammount of what is asked to cut from the pattern for the bodice to make that double on top. Am I just reading the pattern wrong or did you do it differently? either way it is fun to watch you do it, i just started cutting my pattern on paper
