@louismorris7954 they get machine polished too 👌🏻 I use a 3" polisher to do a heavy cut, then refine the finish afterwards. In an ideal world, PPF is the best protection for these as they get damaged so easily.

@@detailR ahhh thanks for that mate, I have just got an in2detailing da, going to do some correction on my mk 5 using meguiars compound and some 205 , I’ve got their Microfibre cutting pads but not tried it yet, I got the hexlogic orange pad too but after your feedback think illl go straight in with the microfibre!

@LeecMTB thanks very much. I honestly can't remember what was used on this one. The car had been resprayed and left in a terrible state so it was a pretty heavy cutting stage to start with. The paint was a bit softer than factory too.

Yes, the spoiler can be polished. The paint is super soft so start on a fine finishing polish and soft pad 🙂

@@detailR Thank you! Is it better to use finishing polish and change the variation of the pad or use the turtle pro precision platelet and change cutting pads? This spoiler is so tricky

The problem is usually with the product rather than the towel. IPA has no lubrication, so as it evaporates it starts getting grabby. I'd highly recommend hyperCLEAN WIPE as your panel wipe. It removes a lot more than IPA can, and it's nicely lubricated hypercleanstore.co.uk/products/wipe

Thanks James! Do you mean the gloss black B-Pillar trim? They were cut with a microfiber pad and heavy cut compound. Intermediate stage with a medium pad. Finished with a super soft pad and finishing polish. I can't remember exactly which pads, but it would have been Angel Wax polishes 🙂

Thanks 😎 yeah, the paint is usually soft and thin on Toyotas. Always start with the least aggressive pad and polish and work up if needed 🙏🏻

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yes, you're absolutely right. One well lubricated wash after 2 stages of pre-washing is the sole cause of the swirls on a car that's been through a load of hand car washes 🤣🤣🤣 As a bit of education, this is known as a "prep wash". The aim here is to get the car clean. The car is already covered in swirl marks and will likely pick up a little bit of marring later when clay is used. The method used still won't cause that level of damage. If this was a maintenance wash after it had been corrected and coated, different techniques would be employed. 🙂
