You probably know the most about Abraham Lincoln & Martin Luther King, Jr. John Kennedy was our 35th President & he appointed his younger brother, Robert Kennedy, as his Attorney General. They fought for Civil Rights (and after John was assassinated, his Vice President, Lyndon Johnson, became President & carried on with the Civil Rights struggle). The Kennedys & Lyndon Johnson were very wealthy men. They were also Democrats. It enraged the Southern Democrats (who were actually called, at that time, "Dixiecrats", because the South was so Very Democrat.) that almost all of them switched parties & became Republicans. Now the South is predominantly a Republican block, for the most part. So, yes. They are very important American heros. All 4 of them were assassinated because they all believed that the promise of America belongs to ALL of us. I hope you could at least feel how much we loved them.

World War 2 was raging. His dad took off to the merchant marine. His mom didn't feel she could care properly for John as a single mom and gave John to her sister and her husband to take care of. John was raised by his Aunt Mimi and her husband.

His mother never got to see him become famous. His father did and tried to come back into his life. As you can probably guess John was a little more than skeptical at Alfred's motives.

Great song, so heartbreaking knowing John's history with his parents.

I kinda take it that the bald guy in each scene is a “silent witness”. Sort of a nonjudgmental angel who witnesses everything we do, all our struggles and triumphs..,

I agree with everyone saying you need to listen to other live recordings that highlight his range which was just as high as Jeff’s. Plus Tim has this incredible velvety lower tones. Just gorgeous. RIP both Buckleys, gone way before their time.

The part where he says “there are no masters or kings when the ritual begins”, the rituals are birth, marriage, priesthood, and death. Then in the video his happy life flashes before his eyes Also the other thing that sometimes gets glossed over is “that’s a fine looking high horse… what you got in your stable” referencing the hypocrisy. This crazy deep, masterful, writing. The more I listen, the more meanings I find, and the further my heart breaks
