Been a few years since I’ve paddled with my son. Took him to Paddling Paradise to launch into Turkey Creek towards the Sanctuary. We saw lots of fish, turtles, a few Manatees, a small Gator and a group of Floridian Bridge Jumpers 😆

Nice. Video footage!. I was just looking off a frozen mecox bay yesterday and wondering how awesome it would be to paddle it off season. I'll paddle any month as long as it's calm and above freezing. I was last out New Years Eve for hours on Jamaica bay..
Wow amazing,love seeing the manatees
Very cool Eddie
Sooo cool Eddie. Great video
Awsome Eddie
Tempat yang indah. Bersih dang sejuk.🙏salam paket kopletttt
Cool video!! 😎
I can't believe the clarity and zoom on that X4.
@@TwoFeetOutdoors I had the protective glass lense cover on. Would have been clearer if It didn’t get water and fog behind it. Lost a lot of footage before it unfogged. Even my lense cloth was wet. The x4 quality though is much better as long as there is enough light. Sometimes have to reduce settings for low light from 8k to 5k
@@paddlen360edwardricca3 I do that too with the X3. How's the battery life? Are they different batteries than the X3?
@@TwoFeetOutdoors yeah different batteries but better. I’ve been getting by with just one battery…used to take out three batteries w oneRS. Battery life slightly better than x3 or the same…haven’t been using it much lately to run battery down.
Cool video!! 😎
Oooooo
Great- thank you for sharing ❤️🐚🪸
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Nice place!
It would have been a far better video if you had not relied on using the Insta260 auto edit. It has taken what should have been a very interesting video and made it look too weird
Thanks for feedback, this edit isn’t possible w auto edit…been reframing 360 for over 6 years, but I do plan on backing off the weird effects that people either love or hate. Curious on your thoughts for the South St Lucie River video I recently posted…it’s more inline w the new direction I’d like to take w future videos.
Hehe I liked how you split your paddle in 2!
Do you need type of license to paddle board here? Thanks!
How does it paddle in choppy water? Waves?
I dunno why companies make accessories where you have to remove your phone case to use it. Such an inconvenience and makes no sense.
Great vid!
Thanks 😊
Probably silly question but what type of board is that? Doesn’t look like traditional SUP.
It’s a custom carbon fiber race board by Flying Fish Board co. This is the Freedom model. Mine is 14’x23” only 21 lbs.
Hi, where do you launch from? Is this near the police museum?
Launch is on Yaphank Ave…it’s a one way paddle down river. Leave a second car downriver or lock up board/yak and Uber back to car. Dropped pin maps.app.goo.gl/d7doLLd5YcXskHNG9?g_st=ic
@@paddlen360edwardricca3 thank you
Obnoxious music. Would have been so much better with just the natural ambience to listen to.
Cool!!
Looked like a fun trip and a good leg workout! How are you finned? I love paddling creeks and exploring the outer reaches, but my knees couldn't take all the bending of branch dodging
I cut down an old snap in race fin from Imagine to lift me over logs and rocks more easily... it does make the board less stable but I can hop up and forward from on my knees as fin lifts over logs with boards forward momentum…fin looks ugly but works better for me in shallow waters, it’s also not the right fin for starboard fin box but it works…just sits a little deeper in box than it should. In the past I also used a retractable fin from FrogFish… I lost some fin box hardware to it so using my old Image cut down fin again. My knees need time to warm up after torn meniscus surgeries on each. Stretching helps a lot. After kneeling for longer periods of time my knees get very stiff too…gets worse w age. Regular exercise, Yoga, and warmer weather seems to help my knees.
very cool wide angle stuff & edit 🤜
Thank You 😊

Nice to see your having the time of your life 😂 Be Safe And have a happy New Year 🎉
Thanks! You too!
Great video!!!! Please do more reviews!!!
Awesome. I would love to get one but somehow the folks at Flying Fish never respond to emails.
I call them, phone number is on their website. 772-529-4484.
Some great editing.. I thought I was going to hit my head on those branches 😂
Is there a launch site? I’d love to try out this River
Nice what do you use to stick your 360 cam to your board? Or does it have a built in fcs plug?
I have fcs plug for cam but I use it for a suptig light that a go pro can go on top of. I prefer go pro sticky mounts w a ball joint, extension arm and tether…won’t damage board
Kook! Lol
That looks like it was a great day!
Really great camera work! Lots of energy and fun to watch
Super cool and beautiful place.
Every time I see this area.. my jaw drops. It’s so gorgeous.
Is this Rock Springs near Apopka?
Yes it it! Kings Landing, Rock Springs Run/ Emerald Cut, Kelly Park. Video is from the return trip from Kelly Park going back w the current.
Great video job well done
Did I see you paddling with 1 hand? Nice nice!
How bad is it going upstream ?
Forgot paddling upstream, current was moving me up to 8mph. It’s possible to go upstream short distances in sections with eddy currents but I wouldn’t try paddling both ways.
Very cool! I have a deposit with John on a Freedom board (4 month production backlog right now😮). Trying to decide on width and thickness. John recommended 25-26”, but I see you’re on a 23”. I’m 63, 6’, 170# and have been paddling a 29” wide Starboard for some time with no issue. (I also kite foil and wing foil so I’m pretty used to balancing on water toys). I was planning on a 25” width with the 2” step down. Do you think I could narrower without too much issue? What did you choose for thickness? Thanks for any input😀
Johns great w recommendations but he does stay on safe side. Going too narrow is worse than too wide. If you’re not racing competitively you’ll be fine. I also have a 14’x24” FF Freeglide I might be selling soon… or swapping for a wider or shorter Flying Fish. Unfortunately I haven’t been racing and have been doing a lot of social group paddling at a slower pace. I’m in NY but relocating to Florida in a year…you’re welcome to try my boards…if you think your 25-26 is too wide I might be interested in a swap. Where are you located?
Looks like immense fun! I'm considering getting this same kayak. My only misgiving is that I'm 5'6" and 195 lb. So I think I'm too large for it. May have to go to the Skylark. Do you have thoughts on that?
I’m 5’6” and 185. Skylark is more roomy inside. Rio has thigh braces so it’s more sporty…and 2” narrower. There’s also a weight difference of maybe 8-10lbs. I’m comfortable in the Rio for several hours of paddling…I do need help w access to rear hatch in Rio. Skylark is also awesome and more versatile and I can access the rear hatch by myself
crazy fun!
Wow.. seeing those manatees up close on your kayak is just surreal. They look so docile!
Thanks, the 360 cameras and 10’ selfie stick let me zoom in and out when editing so I don’t have to get too close to them. It’s actually tough to move the camera around underwater w the dive case and 10’ selfie stick but the 360 video let’s me pan and zoom to create a dynamic motion in editing app.
@@paddlen360edwardricca3 ah I got it! I just got myself a 360 camera too.. I think I need to play around with it a bit more
@@Fishaholicboy I’ve used 360, Go Pro max, insta 360oneR and Insta Go2 cameras. For apps I found go pro to be easier to learn but insta 360 app is more advanced. Sometimes I still use go pro app for titles and music. Feel free to ask for camera tips if needed. Been wanting to do a video for how I set up on water but haven’t gotten around to it.
@@paddlen360edwardricca3 actually, it would be great to see a video on how you use it on your kayak!
Btw, I subscribed so I don’t miss out 😅
Great video! Love the underwater footage of the creek and manatees! The color of that water is unbelievable!
What a gorgeous place to paddle!!
