If anyone’s wondering, this bridge is located over a walking trail next to Siegle Ave in Charlotte North Carolina, 35.22792° N, 80.82478° W

I definitely remember seeing this on the news as a kid.

I was there in Charlotte, N. C. on July 23rd, 1991, and the 60 story skyscraper was a few stories taller than this June, 1991 video. When I was there, the tower was up 57 stories, almost topped out.

They didn't have tripods in '91?

Born a raised here in 1981. I was ten years old that year. The year and month my Mom got married on her birthday. When Charlotte had rough areas,great restaurants that most are gone now. I miss it when life was normal 🙏🏾

Not too long after this point in time, my friend and my little cousin hopped onto one of the (then) Nations Bank Tower elevators with a couple of construction workers and took the elevator to the 60th floor. The windows weren’t even in yet, but my daredeviled self looked over the edge. One of the workers in charge kicked us out, but gave us a little nugget of information 1st. He said, that if one of us jumped from the building, the elevator was so fast, we could watch them jump and make it downstairs to see them hit the ground. Crazy!

I have some pics of Charlotte in the 90s in a slideshow. I'm still experimenting with captions and music. In the early 70s the city limit (east side) was around the old coliseum and the coliseum bowling alley/pool hall across the street. population was 495,000. Most of the area from East Mecklenburg HS to Matthews was farm land and a few houses.

The month and year I was born here in Charlotte. Amazing to see how much this city has changed

I'm heading here in a few weeks to film and wanted to bring my DJI Mavic, was wondering if you had any issues flying your drone there? Did you have to get any special clearance from the airport or was it pretty chill to just take off? I've tried flying my drone too close to airports before and wasn't able to even take off. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. 🤘

Before 1200 hours near Charlotte North Carolina, CSX AC44CW 237 and 400 were en-route to power plant in South Carolina when they stopped on a bridge not far from Charlotte North Carolina but the crew knew that the bridge was without a support beam and then... CSX 237 and 400 fall into Little Sugar Creek. I recreated it at a Raleigh County lake in or near Shady Spring West Virginia.

Well that was unexpected 237 crashes into Little Sugar Creek near Charlotte North Carolina. Norfolk Southern AC44C6M 4545, 4540, 4543, and 4539 were in Charlottesville Virginia.

I had a similar situation in Lilburn Georgia at 07:35:37 AM on Sunday October 11th 2020. I did an emergency radio call to the New York Susquehanna and Western and Pan Am Railways in Buffalo New York.

I spoke to Norfolk Southern about what happened and NS told me that CSX 237 was rebuilt repaired and returned to service relatively recently.

Has a good time at the show. I saw Elton in LA at Universal Studios 80's I met Rod Stewart at a party in 1981 and spent two evenings with him, in Beverly Hills and at the Record Plant next day.

CSX having a 220 ton bath, lol, no one was hurt I seen the other video to this and after it all ended some railway work said on live TV its lucky no one got hurt, keep safe people godbless you all and ur family's , x

Always amazed at growth in Charlotte and Raleigh areas over the years. Remember visiting Charlotte after shortly moving to Raleigh in the mid 80s. Skyline was barely even worth taking a look at on the highway - maybe 3 taller buildings back then.
