Come and make ribbon skirts with me. I am just starting out but I have a lot of support from family, work and the Winnipeg community. I want to branch out and share my videos and creations with everyone. I am new at this so bear with me as I figure out how to increase my views, my subscribers and my ability to video edit. well I have actually been pretty busy with skirts and I haven't been able to do a video for awhile. but here is a shirt video to show a little bit of work that is involved with aplique if you don't have a machine or something. I create all my own aplique by printing pictures and cutting them out and placing them on the fabric to sew. phew. I think some of these skirts will go fast! I so love wh...

once the two panels are measured and cut then we can start putting the ribbons on. everyone does it their own way but this is the way I do mine. I use 505 adhesive or craft glue stick to tack the ribbons down before sewing them on. I don't like to put a space between the ribbons so I put them beside each other most of the time.

This was the very first time I ever tried aplique. I actually really like doing aplique but it is a little challenging for sure.
How to measure your pattern before you cut the material

with this material pattern, I am going to be making some adjustments in order to make the pattern even on each side front and back. so I will be adding material to the top for the elastic and to the bottom for the ribbons and together that will make the average length 36". I tested one-sided satin ribbon in the wash and dryer and the ribbon didn't hold up. The ribbon threads seem to separate. Any suggestions?

If you did NOT have that seam, how do you determine that the ribbon is even? Do you measure from the bottom of the skirt, up?
