    Wow, I had almost given up on converting the trike I decided I wanted -- a 20" Vevor, because it was the lightest folding trike. I looked at the Lectric, which is light, but read about so many problems I decided on the Vevor. I've found out how to convert Vevor to electric (adding front wheel hub) but have been stymied on how to add on a better brake. The band brake Vevor comes with is ridiculous. Now I just need to translate what you've laid out into the parts I need for my particular trike, and how to do it.

    Great video! Have you heard from anyone that this disc brake conversion might work for a Schwinn Meridian too? Your comment that the band brake is just there for decoration is so spot on. There is no amount of adjustment that will ever make it work strongly.

    Just bought the woman's version of the bike and my plan is to put a 2000 watt hub motor on the front wheel. First thing I noticed was that the brakes are terrible which made the decision to upgrade the brakes an easy one. Thanks for this video as it will make the upgrade process much easier. I am looking forward to riding with ebike with my girlfriend!

      Sorry I've been traveling and not on YT. Newer cables will have stretch at first and pads need to "bed in". Mine do ok but I've yet to do any hills . Arizona playa area so flat. Hope you come up with something. No room for larger disc.

      @Oxfire95965 Рік тому

      @@ramblinrogers6108 you're exactly right cables needed time to stretch in disc to break broke in perfectly only problem is if you're going uphill do not rely on the brakes to hold since the reverse threads 😄😂 going to have to use lock tight I really have to say after the first couple of rides really glad I found this video

    Quick question how did you remove the bearings from the internal axle the manufacturer used loctite I had to use heat to burn off the loctite off the adapter so I can mount the disc I have a bearing knocker nothing seems to move that bearing it is so tight I'm afraid to use heat cuz I do not want to discolor the coloring of my bike how did you remove the bearing seems to be the same model of bike hoping to push a video so you can see the modifications I have made just got a tighten everything down and mount the caliper 🫡 thanks for the video really came in Handy

    One more thing I plan on doing this modification to the rear but my front rim is disc brake as I'm going uphill I carry two dogs the bikes rated at 420 lb that's the only reason why I got it well sometimes I have to stop mid uphill and as I engage the break the damn disc unscrews

  • @Oxfire95965
    @Oxfire95965 Рік тому

    Nice video good advice I got some for you you should try ordering a bigger cog for the rear axle makes for easier riding I'm referring to the 7 speed sprockets and get yourself a small sprocket for the front 22 tooth makes life easy and have you seen the attached motors that adapt to the disc brake you can remove them anytime you want I'm pretty sure we have the same bike they're all from China just different name

    I'm trying to follow your video to convert to disc break also. I like to get some clarification from you. You mentioned using 140mm disc. But from your video, it looks like you're using 180/160mm hydraulic break caliper with the 140 mm disc. Is this correct? I'm double checking to make sure I'm not buying the wrong hydraulic caliper size. Thank you for your help.

      Parts arrived last night and fitted the disc adapter, hydraulic cable calliper and bracket. Removed the wheel and pulled the axle as described. My axle set up is exactly the same as the one shown. Removed the basket as well to improve access. The existing cable was long enough but unscrewing the band brake housing from axle fitting was a mare as it was screwed on damn tight. Whole job took about 3 1/2 hours and works well apart from if applying the brake going backwards the adapter comes loose but tightens up again when applying the brake going forwards. Might apply some permanent tread lock. Worth the time spent though as a massive improvement on the crappy band brake.

    Looks good, but it would be great to see it operational in your house...and how much oxygen does it actually consume plus a reading from your carbon monoxide meter. Otherwise it's just another one of the multitudes of videos with "nice" propane tank woodstoves, none of which show the aforementioned.

    I quit getting notifications AGAIN 🙄. So I’m binge watching until I’m caught up. Your porch looks great. Just curious, how much do people have to pay for those tanks down there? For awhile, I could get as many I wanted for free. Like a dummy, I didn’t go pick them up. Last I heard, farmers were charging $25-$50 for them. FYI, I was also told to neutralize the chemicals in them, use ammonia. I’m a bit OCD, so I rinsed them multiple time with ammonia. Then clear water, then final rinse bleach
