Death Valley Hot Springs Thanksgiving 2019
Congratulation both of you. happy Anniversary.
Thank you!
Congratulations! Beautiful shots! To many more adventures!
Thanks John! People said it's a good thing we found each other !
Congratulations! 🎉🎊 Looks like you had a great time. Keep enjoying!
Thanks!
@@onefastcyclist you're welcome Gary!
Great looking XJ . How many miles on it? Do have any special extras like lockers front or rear etc? Great video as well.
Thanks! 216k on the old six, 3" Old Man Emu lift, rear tire swing, front sway bar disco, 245/75 r16 BFG KO2's and a rear OX locker and a lot of small tweaks
sweet! Jenn has been trying to get me up there. Just got off the Rubicon yesterday. Jenn made a "cameo" on a matt's off-road vid :D
Thanks - this was a good trail for my grandson and it would be a relaxing sojourn after the Rubicon - so listen to Jenn - I'll look forward to your You-tube on the Rubicon and I'll look for Mat's to see her
Great! The music worked well!
Thanks!
Nice to see your XJ again. I'm pretty sure your grandchild will have a beautiful lifetime memory. ❤
Thanks - Indeed, this is perfect for a 15 (soon to be 16) year old
Nice and cool song for the video.
Thanks, I tried several and this on did seem to fit!
Cool video! I’m about to embark on a cross country journey with my Jeep and tab320 boondock. I know ppl say the tab isn’t an off-road trailer, and I agree but I’m going to push it to its limits. Motivating to see you already doing it. Do you ever air down the tab’s tires to help improve the ride quality?
Thank you! Good Luck on your trip-To assure my trips go well; I have a lock-n-roll hitch/coupler, Jack-e-up jack remover and more secure cabinet latches. My truck is lifted 1" higher in the back so it sets level when towing
Very beautiful! ❤ I would like to go offroading on these trails one day.
Thanks - Indeed it would be fun to to wheel this with you!
Beautifull. I would like to have Joshua tree in my backyard. 🙂
Thanks! indeed, those trees are majestic
That was a great trip, and it was awesome seeing you both. Jennifer and I used all our fuel and made it back to stovepipe wells with a 1/4 tank. The springs only had maybe 50 people. The two obstacles on the bottom of Lippincott were doable, but the longer trucks were scraping some bumper. Until next time, it's always a pleasure seeing you out on the trails.
Indeed, it was! we enjoyed seeing you both too - After a couple of miles past race track my fuel gauge moved adding a quarter of a tank??! Maybe my truck knew about those obstacles. But with glum and doom in the forecast we tucked our tails and headed home while the getting was good. I hope the storm and traffic wasn't too bad for you guys
DAS been cheap for a long time
Cheep yes and Jonathon Davis is a shyster
Gary, you look cold! While Lucy looks to be quite enjoying herself!
Thanks - Yes it's cold up north in the morning - but Border Collies can have fun in any weather
It's funny how she waits behind the tree. 😅❤
@@V8AmericanMuscleCar YES - thanks - she's very coy !
I always enjoy these trips you share. Now that I’m finally living out west again I can explore some of these trails. Do you mostly use the fun treks guide book to find these trails?
Glad you enjoy them! In CA & CO we often use Fun treks guide. In Texas we found these trails on a National Geographic Map of Big Bend but they are also on the park map. Google Earth is great checking out the trails before we go down them
Your rig and trailer look well, our trailer should be done this month. How long you in Texas? We should be hitting the springs next month for a week , would love to see you and your wife. We do have a bit of sad news, our lil doggie Ryder has passed away. Glad to see you posting and it not being a life threatening, my truck is hanging off a ravine vid😜
Thanks John! This was a 3 week trip with about a week in Texas and a few days in Brice Canyon - life on dirt is SAFER then on the street with crazy drivers 😳 But Damn, it's hard not to love this truck🤠 Sorry to hear about your pup - but their lives are short and it's our job to make their lives rewarding. Your truck is WHERE ??
@@onefastcyclist you and you’re truck were on that wash out last video🫣😝
@@jlopes68 Ah - indeed, this truck was a year ago. But when we meet at the springs, we'll AVOID any and ALL log bridges (for the rest of my life)👼
Good video, I'm a taco guy but you have a great looking setup, many happy miles to you'll !!!
Thanks, it took a little time to make it level and off road capable, but it was worth it!
Looks like a great time. I wish my life wasn't so complicated so that I could take longer trips. There are a lot of mountains in my country, some sub-covered with forests and some with rocks and that would be nice to visit. Who knows, maybe soon. Cheers!
Thanks! Indeed, the German Alps are worth visiting! Being retired frees up time for longer trips - Just save so you can afford the gas later. This was a 3,500 mile trip
What age did you get her from I'm getting my first border collie pup now I work from home and have all my time. I searched high and low but they very scarce in my area and I eventually found one who is almost twelve weeks old and I'm collecting tomorrow. Is almost twelve weeks too old too train and bond with
BC's will bond with you even if their new owner acquires then latter in their life. We got our first BC from the SPCA when she was almost a year old. Train them with + reinforcement and once you earn their respect, they are GREAT companions! Good Luck
I wonder how many horses were shot along that road back in the day over broken legs and ankles
The Chuck it lol. My collie loves it too.
Good for you two
She's very cute!
THANK YOU!
Q hermoso perrito!!!
¡Gracias!
Le gusta mucho el paseo!!!
¡Todavía es una Border Collie obsesionada con las pelotas!
This was a relaxing video, a bit melancholic because of the music. You have a nice dog. Unfortunately, my younger son has autism so we bought a Labrador a few months ago. I never thought I would have a dog, but here it is. Cheers!
Thanks, Lucy is well trained and a joy to have on our trips! Relaxing it was, but getting out is always good for our metal health. Congrats on the Lab! Hopefully your son will connect
I was looking for you at the hot springs on Presidents’ Day weekend. We are currently looking for a small trailer as we are now caring for my father in law and need more space to carry his gear along with ours. Hope all is well with you and your wife.
Thanks, We wondered what happened to you two. We went back to Valley of Fire. A trailer to carry gear or one the sleep in? Or worse, a Smitty-built with a roof top tent?
@@onefastcyclist we are leaning towards a gear trailer though considering a tear drop. He has done well tent camping the two times he has been out with us but we find we are going out much less frequently. It’s tough to pack for another adult.
@@jlopes68 Maybe a Bean Trailer like the Mean Bean or the Black Bean would allow you to place gear inside and also have a Kitchen counter. To give our dog her own place in the Jeep (and not under Linda's feet) we put the tent, chairs and table on the roof rack of the XJ on our last trip with old red. Glad to hear he's done well with tent camping
@@onefastcyclist it would have to be under 1800lbs loaded, the two doors are not the best tow rigs. And also be off road worthy.
@@jlopes68 Understand - Old Red wasn't that good towing my 2.200lb T@B with only a 4 speed and 220ft/lbs. The Mean Bean is 1850lbs dry - you might ask them if they would build you one without the interior cabinets, bed etc.. Or go with the far less stylish Smitty-built off road utility trailer from 4-wheel parts. We met a couple pulling one on mojave road. Bean makes the BEST small off road teardrops.
Our BC used to want to bite at the power push mower when it was off of course but knew to stay away when on. She would wait.
YES - BC's are very smart
Proof that we need dogs to sniff out Terminators
So true!
not a dog, an MX missile exploding in my heart. God I love BCs.
True, a Border Collie is a Title for well Trained Shepherds
Looks exactly the same colouring as my Border Collie (Levi) he is 13months now and still full of beans and acts like a puppy
What an adorable doof.
thank you
Not sure a golf ball is a good idea ? Too small .
Perhaps for a full-grown dog - but no for our small puppy - they are not like small children and choking isn't an issue with them
"HOW DO I HERD THIS THING"
YES, that would be her question !
Absolutely amazing dog breed. God’s amazing creatures.
Thanks - indeed they are when trained and given a job that works both their minds and bodies
Hahahaha
Did your puppy used to bit hands??
Not our little darling
Beautiful. Gonna hug my border collie. I take her with me everywhere, too.
Indeed they are GREAT companions!
Wish we knew about this when we were in Nevada with Daisy.
Often State parks are overlooked, but this one is great !
Love the fierce expression.
Thanks - indeed she's obsessed like most BC's
I remember Daisy's puppyhood. Her tail when it was smooth like Lucy's, now it's a fluffy plume. Cute & lots of bounce. Years later, Daisy still has a lot of bounce. Gonna find my Meatloaf albums. :)
Thanks - and Lucy still loves to play - I told my daughter it's like having a preternatural toddler. She replied that my grandchildren were going past that stage. I said yes, but my BC wouldn't ever become a teenager and the smile left my daughter's face
Love your choice of music AND dogs!
Thanks Border Collies are great
What a treasure are these BC dogs...my boy blaZed trails for over 18 years with me and I believe his spirit has returned in my new BC pup )😊
Thank you - indeed, if any animal deserved to be reincarnated it would be a BC !
itll get better in 3🤣 years
YES - but she'll never be cuter
She thanked you every day for her beautiful life, and will remember you always.
Thanks - indeed, she loved to go with us and she was wonderful have on the trails!
Let him off the leash!! I ts a collie, they dont run off.
As soon as she was trained she walks without a leash - 😄even in the city!
@@onefastcyclist awesome
Sometimes we don't like some Christmas presents. 😅
She LOVED her new balls and collar, 😊but the wind-up was Linda's and Lucy was frustrated that she couldn't pick it up 😆
so funny how I was recommend this video my sister has one the person she got it from was gonna put him to sleep! because apparently he attacked one of there own dogs but he's with other dogs right now and he's so sweet can't believe they were gonna put him to sleep! This was such cute video!
Thanks - glad everything worked out
Ahh my Australian Shepard looks just like your dog. I have a short video of her on my UA-cam channel.
Good for you - we had an Australian Shepard 20 years ago and they are great companions
She’s herding the box.
