    Just curious wouldn't a felling wedge have worked as well to control the drop?

    • @madmanwithaplan1826
      @madmanwithaplan1826 6 місяців тому

      Yes and no. A felling wedge can be a great tool to guide a trees fall. But certainly factors can make tensioning a better and safer choice. Especially when working alone. Things like the tree being heavier one direction or the other can cause the fall to shift towards the heavier side. Its less of an issue in younger or more squat trees.

      The rope that's tied to the bottom of the tree is to help what happens after the tree already hits the ground. Some times a tree will want to roll or jump to the right and left depending on the ground, what branches it lands on or if the trees banana shaped. So to be safe with the well head, the extra rope is added. You could substitute the top rope for wedging the tree, but you still don't know what it's going to do when it hits the ground.

    Nice shot brother! On your butt tie it looked like the line was fairly tight, was there any slack ? Im wondering if not enough slack could cause the tree to drift… By the way im Not nit picking just curious brother perfect execution! 😂

    • @TreeBuds
      @TreeBuds 6 місяців тому

      Great question, Bro, it was not super tight. And the rope was not a straight shot from the tree to where it was tied. There was a couple small maples that were holding it bowed that I knew would flex great true info though. Hope you're killing it out there.

    I would say paid by the hour, but honestly a chainsaw wouldn’t be much faster, very impressive, and such a satisfying sound when the hinge wood squeaks and the final thud of the tree falling, thanks for sharing!

    Oh wow that F-250 doesnt even look to be sagging at all. Also have all the weight of that heavy service bed ontop of all the other items.. I am a bit surprised that retrackable tonneau cover is able to hold that bucket without causing any issues. Ive never seen a truck with a service bed like that also have a tonneau cover but i do like that combo so you can keep whatever is in the bed from getting rained/snowed on long as it isnt to tall.. That is a beautiful setup tho.. ahhhaha got that magnetic deck on the trailer.. Must be a fan of "Big Dad" "GFYM" lol

    • @TreeBuds

      yes love the truck combo bought it used in 2018 ($32000). tows loaded daily. It came with the body, air bags, 2000w inverter with outlets and lights all over, even came withe the vise. The cover is great but you have to be carful on days where it may freeze up. sometimes you cant get to your tools. "Komatsu, god bless you"
